Description: Recognizing that not every pilot wanted a large-end freighter that pushed the bounds of civilian and police craft, Corellian Engineering decided to revisit some of their older designs for inspiration. Naturally, the YT-1300 came up as the pinnacle freighter. Robust and versatile, the YT-1300 was easily the most successful ship CEC had ever produced, with models being continually produced for more than one hundred years.

The new shipline, dubbed YTA-1300, is built with strong resemblances to the YT-1300's general shape. The two most prominent changes can be seen in the cockpit and sensor dish. The latter was moved from on top of the ship to the extended starboard mandible, obstinately in the name of increased performance though many speculate it was to reduce the number of sensor dishes knocked off ships on take off. The other change is the cockpit placement. Rather than be placed on the forward-starboard side, it's placed central to the ship's frame, much like the YT-2000 was.

Lightly armed, the YTA-1300 prefers to leave would-be pirates in the dust with its three powerful Girodyne SRB92-S sublight engines. Its designed primarily as a civilian ship, as opposed to other product lines that were especially favored by smugglers and armed mercenaries. As such, some models sacrifice roughly three-quarters of the cargo space to add suite rooms for additional passenger capacity. All-in-all, the YTA-1300 is an attempt to bring the galaxy back to a peaceful time, without so many guns to remind it of the dark attitude that still hung over the galaxy.
