There are plenty of ways to make credits in the galaxy. Evan Kade has simply found that information tends to be worth more than most things people are willing to steal. A name, a secret, a schedule, a weakness, a piece of gossip that someone desperately doesn't want getting out; there is always someone willing to pay for it.
Evan is a freelance spy, and he doesn't particularly care who signs the other side of the credit transfer. Governments, corporations, criminal organizations, private individuals, bounty hunters, rival businessmen, suspicious spouses; if someone has a problem that can be solved by knowing something they shouldn't, Evan may be willing to help.
The job itself can be almost anything. Perhaps a client needs someone watched without them realizing it. Perhaps they want Evan to attend a social gathering and quietly determine who is meeting with whom. Maybe they need information extracted from an employee, a rival, or an old acquaintance. Maybe someone wants to know whether their business partner is lying to them. Or perhaps they simply need a person with the right face, the right story, and the right amount of confidence to walk into a place where they don't belong. Evan is particularly fond of jobs where he can blend into the background, listen, observe, and leave without anyone realizing that they were ever being watched.
He isn't faction-specific, either. Evan's loyalty extends only as far as the contract; and even that comes with certain unspoken qualifications. He isn't interested in starting wars or making grand political statements. He's interested in getting paid, doing the job well, and remaining someone people are willing to hire again. Of course, exactly what information he collects, who ultimately receives it, and whether a particular client is getting the whole truth are matters best left between Evan and his conscience.
So if you have a character who needs someone watched, a secret uncovered, a conversation overheard, a background investigated, or simply a stranger who knows how to ask the right questions without looking like he's asking any questions at all, Evan Kade might be interested. Bring a problem, negotiate a price, and he'll take it from there.
Just don't expect him to tell you much about himself in the process. After all, information has a price; and Evan's own is probably higher than you can afford.
