Your Love Is Mine For the Taking

While most of Kashyyyk was dense forest and swamp, it did have some really nice beaches. Places where sand kissed water, and the sun usually beat down on the bodies found swimming or just soaking up the heat of the day. It was warm, inviting, and peaceful. Usually.

A torrent of sand was displaced from it's original rest from the force of the landing Eenia had just made. She had skid only a short ways, the sand slowing her down, and then she had charged right back in to where she had quickly moved herself from in the first place. Naturally the blonde knew that [member="Kahlil Zambrano"] was far better with a weapon in his hand than she was, but that didn't stop her from going right back to him, training saber still drawn and ready. Nia still had yet to get an actual lightsaber, and it wasn't something she was overly upset about. It had taken her quite a long time to get to where she was comfortable enough in her own skin to use any sort of hand-to-hand weapon comfortably. So that fact that she had yet to go and make a saber of her own really wasn't all that surprising.

It had been two years now since she had first grabbed Kahlil by the hand and drug him all around the silver rest. That day had changed everything in Eenia's life, and while there had been rough moments over the two years for sure, there was never a time when Nia regretted literally running into the man positioned across from her now.

Most couples would make their way to the beach and spend the day doing things couples do. Picnics, swimming, and Gods only knew whatever else. Kahlil and Eenia on the other hand? They had come down here, out of the way, where they had lots of room to move so that they could spar. There was challenge still written plain as day across Eenia's expression, and the smirk on her lips only added to it.

"Are you going to actually do something, or are you just going to make me dance around you all morning?" she questioned him, though was still poised and ready to move again in an instant if she needed.

A grin was the only response Kahlil had for [member="Eenia Vahn"] . He was armed with a training saber much like she was to keep the odds somewhat fair. The young man had never bothered learning an aggressive style with his lightsaber. Soresu was more then enough. Defend, concentrate. Wear down his foes until he could find a moment to strike and strike true.

Just as she had grown in her skills in hand to hand, the young man had grown in his power of the Force. No longer was he fumbling around trying to grasp the lightside of the Force. Now he was strong, able to control it as well as she could, maybe even better. His skills were always in the Force as a Sith, between his sorcery and his alchemy. Both skills he couldn't use when he gave up the Dark.

"Come on, you know as well as I do that this is how I fight."

There was a loud scoff from Eenia, and she shook her head at him. There was no other verbal reply from her however. Instead, her smirk returned, and her free hand extended out to her side, towards the ocean water. Then with a swipe of her hand across herself, she brought a broad stream of water from the ocean flying at him, dead set on connecting and soaking him. It wasn't forceful, it wasn't going to hurt him or sting even, but they weren't close enough to the waves for her to just kick or splash him with water.

"I don't know why you drug me out here if you're just going to keep your distance." Well, he hadn't drug her anywhere, and really for the two of them? Keeping distance was necessary if they wanted to get anything productive done. Again she swiped more water at him. Nia wasn't about to wear herself out chasing him around and be the one to make all of the moves. She knew better, especially since physicality was not her strong suit.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

The water hit him square in the face, instantly soaking his clothing. Kahlil's smile faded as he stood there, drenched, as he frowned to [member="Eenia Vahn"] . The second splash met a shimmering field of blue. It was a barrier. "Very well, we can switch this up." He deactivated his training saber, stabbing the 'blade' into the sand. He wasn't going to need that to deal with Eenia. Both of his hands came up as he tapped into the Force, unleashing a torrent of wind to launch her back.

She had laughed. Ohhh how she laughed at just the look on his face! Even when the second bought of water had hit nothing but protective barrier, Eenia was still giggling. However that quickly faded when he switched up tactics. The giggling turned to a gasp, and while Nia was quick to bring more water out to protect herself, all that succeeded in doing was causing the wind to slow sure, but it pushed through and drenched her as well.

Now the blonde stood, soaking wet, and frowning as well as the wind died down and what was left of her wall of water fell. Clearly she was no longer amused.

"Alright Zambrano," oh she meant business now. Her training saber was deactivated and she tossed it aside. "See if I try to be playful with you again." Water had been playful, trying to knock her back in response? Not cool. Nia conjured up a Force push with some oomf behind it, and she focused it forward at Kahlil. The sand between them became a trench, and what was kicked up into the air ended up being thrown his way too.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

A chuckle escaped him as he saw [member="Eenia Vahn"] also get drenched. How could he not? She looked like a sad puppy. "That's more like it. Be serious." Another barrier formed as he raised his hand to catch her blast. The sand around it displaced, making the trench split for the moment. It was good to see her serious. She had a strength that could rival his when she was at least.

He swung his arm around again, dropping the barrier to unleash another wave of air. This one was far more focused, more of a slice then a raw blast, carving through the sand like a knife. He wasn't going to hold back either.

There was no response from Eenia this time, just that look of focus. In moments like this, it was admittedly hard for Nia, because shifting her focus the focus away from the mental wall she had put up around herself. Truth of the matter was, Eenia was so much better than she appeared to be, but since half of her focus went to keeping herself composed fifty percent of the time? Well, it took from her ability to perform.

However with Kahlil she never really needed that wall. He was the only person she ever let her guard down with. The only person she never had to put any effort into being around. And really that could be dangerous if something went awry. But at the moment, her mind was clear - well, as clear as it could be given the current situation.

One of her hands extended in front of her, but rather than bring water to her defense this time, a real barrier glint to life and stopped the assault headed right for her. Both of her hands then extended out before swooping forward, and with the motion more water and sand. This time it wasn't a playful spout of water, it was moving full force with the sand coming at the same speed from the other side.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

The grin only widened as [member="Eenia Vahn"] really began displaying her power. He burst forward, using a blast of wind from his palms to jettison himself forward from where he was standing, narrowly avoiding the collision of sand and water that would of overwhelmed him. The Force swelled as he pulled his training saber from where it was sheathed in the beach, snatching it midway of his charge before he brought it down on Eenia, though he didn't turn it on.

Instead, he infused the Force within the weapon. A trick he had been working on with his master Gherron, and as the wind began whipping around his weapon it became very clear he had slowly begun to master it.

When Kahlil charged forward, Eenia wasn't foolish enough to stayed rooted to one spot. She used the fore to propel herself backwards in an attempt to keep some space between them. She did not put herself airborn, she didn't have the control for a good Force jump when she didn't have the time to calculate it properly. She merely used the move to get backwards away from him, and in the process she brought walls of sand up between the both of them.

And then she seemed to recall a lesson they had, had. One that she had worked on time and time again - with intentions of using it on an entirely different target, mind - until she had gotten it down.

Eenia's focus shifted to Kahlil's energy, to the connection shared between them, and her eyes narrowed just a tad. She reached for that energy, and she used the Force to manipulate it and stem it's flow. She had put a lot of practice into the Force stun, and being so in tune with Kahlil only made it that much easier for her.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

Kahlil held his blade aloft, ready to strike [member="Eenia Vahn"] even as she made distance between them. His trick was meant to increase the range of his strikes, and as he was about to strike he immediately felt it. The stun. They had been working on that together some years back, but one she seemed to have been working on. Within moments his perspective shifted, time slowing around him, his body freezing.

His teeth gritted as his eyes narrowed. He had left himself open to such a simple trick.

The glare that she received in reaction to the move she pulled drew a slow smile from Eenia. Her eyes remained narrowed, giving her quite the smug expression which of course looked vastly out of place on Nia's features. She made a kissy face at him, and then threw both of her arms forward from her sides, expelling a Force push with the motion.

With him being stunned, it would put even more distance between them, and then Nia stood by, innocently tucking her arms behind her back with her fingers clasped together while she waited for whatever backlash was about to unfold.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

The blast knocked him off his feet and sent him flying back. Frozen, he couldn't do much to defend himself from [member="Eenia Vahn"] 's attack, though it did wonders for freeing him from the stun. Kahlil pushed himself to his feet, gritting his teeth as he did so. The landing had been rather uncomfortable, to say the least. Back on his feet the young man made eye contact with Eenia, a frown now on his features.

"That was cheap."

And with that, he was gone. He disappeared from sight, dirt kicking up where he was standing the only indication he was there. A second later, he re-appeared behind her, swinging his enchanted weapon down for her back. Teleportation was something he had been working on for quite some time.

"It was not," Nia shot back. "No cheaper than--" her eyes slit when he disappeared, and her arms dropped from where she had, had them clasped behind her back. She didn't have to wait long, and while she didn't get turned in time when he reappeared behind her, she did at least get a barrier up between herself and his weapon. "That!" she exclaimed at him in response.

"Time out!" she declared, and was being serious for the moment as she turned to face him. "When and where did you learn to do that?!" she wasn't angry, or put off, she was most definitely intrigued. He may have been working on it for some time, but she hadn't seen him use it until now.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

Kahlil paused his attack when [member="Eenia Vahn"] called for a time out, grinning a bit. Figures she would, he had been keeping this trick secret for some time. "Teleport, actually. When I was a Sith I could step through shadows using the dark to get where I needed. But it was a dark power, something I couldn't use anymore. Then, I learned I could channel it through other abilities. This one?" He let the wind pick up around him before he faded from view and appeared behind her again, lightly tapping her shoulder.

"Wind. Handy, huh?"

Eenia whipped around again when Kahlil had once again reappeared behind her. She studied him a moment, then walked around him curiously. "That is seriously impressive, babe." she told him when she had gotten around in front of him again. "Why didn't you tell me you were working on teleportation of all things? That is mega vital information to withhold." she teased, arching a brow up at him now.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

He laughed. At first because [member="Eenia Vahn"] called him babe. Then more nervously as she accused him of withholding secrets. Grant it, Kahlil was withholding it. It was a skill that was born from the dark after all, one he wasn't too keen on showing her. But now that he had some control on it? "I can show you, if you want. How to do it. It's pretty handy, especially if you're not good in combat. Teleport away from the fight."

"Hey," Eenia reached out and jabbed him in the chest with her index finger. "Easy on the combat comments. I'm a hell of a lot better not than I used to be." she pointed out to him, and he wasn't wrong. She may not be the best when it came to the physical part, but she could absolutely protect herself - on the fly - and wasn't totally useless with a weapon anymore. It had taken loads, and loads of work, and three people to help her get it down, but she at least had a chance of surviving in worst case scenarios now.

"But yes," she let out, "You know me, I'm always up for learning something that's going to keep me from losing a limb - or worse." Nia knew that Kahlil didn't particularly like to hear her talk that way, but it was true. Anything that was going to help keep her alive? She was for learning it.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

There was an 'oof' from Kahlil as [member="Eenia Vahn"] jabbed him in the chest. It of course hurt, a bit, so he made a face as if it hurt a lot. Of course it didn't, not enough to actually make him wince. He reached out to poke her forehead, a grin wide on his face as he leaned over so they were eye level. "I'll teach you." It had been a couple years since Kahlil let his fear of Eenia getting hurt. They both chose the role of protector, and at the end of the day either of them could get hurt or worse. The most they could do is help each other, protect each other.

And cherish the moments they had together.

"It's tricky to figure out though, be warned. You have to manipulate the Force in the right way. So, sit, close your eyes, and start focusing on the Force."

The blonde made a face right back at Kahlil when he poked her in the forehead. She reached up to touch the spot, not that it had hurt her, but she made a show of it anyhow. At least until he had leaned in to state that he would teach her. Nia grinned then and she had to tuck her hands behind her back once again to keep herself from reaching out to touch him.

When he gave her, her first set of instructions, Eenia nodded with an "Alright," before she stepped just enough away from Kahlil to make room for her to sit down and not take out his legs in the process. While not nearly as clumsy as she used to be, the blonde still had her moments.

But she sat, made herself as comfortable as possible, then exhaled slowly as her eyes rolled closed. It was always easy for Nia to connect with the Force. Doing things with it? Well that took more effort, but connecting? That had never been a problem, even before she knew what she was doing.

[member="Kahlil Zambrano"]

"Ha, yeah. I figured that'd be the easy part for you. But what comes next is.. Weird, to say the least." He laughed, sitting across from [member="Eenia Vahn"] in a similar position, his hands resting on his knees. Kahlil closed his own eyes as he took in a breath. "The Force exists all around us. In everything. A simple lesson that helps us understand how to use the Force, and get around our disbelief. There's more to it. We, are the Force. Our physical bodies one with it at all times. And if you can understand that, truly, you can learn how to change it. Make yourself exist somewhere else. Like taking a scoop out of a river and pouring it downstream instead of letting it flow on it's own." Another wash of wind, and he appeared beside Eenia, back to back.

"Make sense?"
