You have a unique gift [Salina]

Aesir Inari sat within her solar at the far end, surrounded by windows filled with the golden light of day. Legs crossed over the cushion beneath her, robes crumpled around her figure in waves of white and gold embroidered silk. The Reviver felt at ease, her mind clear, her conscience drifting across the planet of Exocron and its many new citizens.

Today she had sent a Priestess, a follower, to bring her newest disciple to her. Salina Aviner was a woman with strange and rare gifts, but aside from these things there was little else she knew. This would be a day of learning, perhaps not just for the newest crusader. So she waited in warm silence, the silver mask on her face gleaming in the sunlight.

Seeing is believing, but one must see first.
Salina had been in her quarters, only just awakening from a night of muddled dreams. She woke t the priestess telling of her summons by the Aesir Inari herself. Within half an hour she was more presentable and was escorted to the temple. When she arrived she calmly walked in, taking in the aura of Inari as she sat in her meditation. Walking up silently Salina reached her and kneeled on both knees, saying "I have arrived as you requested, Aesir Inari.

"Welcome, Miss Aviner."

The Aesir did not stir. Eyes remaining shut against the warmth of the sun beneath her mask, Inari breathed steadily and spoke just beyond a whisper.

"Join me," she said, an unspoken command for Salina to shift from genuflection to the meditative posture.

"Tell me about yourself, Salina."

Salina nodded and, knowing that Inari sat in a more meditative position, did the same. She placed Xira aside before perking up with the request that she tell about herself to the Aesir.

"My story is not a happy one, I'm afraid. I was raised by a political official from Alderaan and his wife, an opera singer. He had become involved with underground dealings that lead to both of their deaths. I was resuced by a Witch of Dathomir whom I trained with over the years. She taught me how to see people's auras and how to reach out into the future with my gifts. I still have trouble seeing pasts as it gives headaches. But I left that life in order to travel, explore and bring what wisdom could to others. Through all of that my traveling had brought me here, before you."

The Reviver listened quietly, and though she had yet to move there was a certain sense about her posture that spoke of her attentiveness. This ability to be at peace and yet remain completely aware was something that came only with great diligence and practice. Salina's presence and her words were not met as separate entities, but as part of the condition for which she experienced the Force. It was much like an orchestra: powerful, moving, enigmatic as one. The experience of the whole, each thread and note that made the sound, is what resonated the most profoundly.

"Does your story make you unhappy?" the Reviver asked following a short pause when the woman drew silent, "or do you say it is an unhappy one because others find it so?"

Hearing her question Salina took a moment and contemplated. "I believe it would be some of both, Aesir. Though I have not told it to many, those that know do show sorrow for what I have been through. And I cannot say I do not understand why." She closed her eyes for a moment, taking a deep breath to let those thoughts pass through her. "But I do not let my past rule me. Only my intent to continue into my future."

@Amorella Mae

"As well it shouldn't," internally there was a moment of silent reflection on the Aesir's part. She opened her eyes finally, a startling hue of blue behind the shine of her silver mask, and turned to settle her gaze upon the Seer next to her.

"The future is a grand place, one of possibility and opportunity, but also one of grave uncertainty. It is much like beauty in that its power rests solely in the eye of the beholder." Hands tucked neatly within her sleeves at her front, Inari breathed calmly as she recalled a memory, "I once met a man who was profoundly afraid of the future. A strong man, an intelligent man, but a man who was terrified of the prospect of losing control, of being unprepared for those unknown challenges."

"You have a unique gift. Your ability to see these possible paths is something to be both respected and feared. It is a great power and one you must learn to use responsibly. There is a fine line between setting the course for someone to follow and bringing about the unraveling of fate."

"I am aware." she said. "Many times have I told someone's possible destiny. But what I have found odd is that when I have given readers I must be careful as to what is said. If I am too clear with my reading the person in question does what he can to change it to a more rewarding path. Yet, in the end, they only bring their own downfall. I must be vague. Speak in riddles. Keep them on their path without fully saying what dangers they may encounter on the way." She sighed a little, thinking back to those whom she filed to help with the readings. "My main problem is seeing pasts. When I was little they used to come to me so clear, now it is painful. It causes a backlash. I have headaches and the like because of it."

@Amorella Mae

"No great power or gift will come without a price or consequence," the Aesir replied, "there are ways to fortify yourself against pain. Methods of redirecting the price of a vision. Meditation is the key to many of these, to raise your awareness of energy and essence. These things you may be intimately familiar with, considering your history, so you must simply learn to use these tools to build the right skills."

Inari stood, making no motion for Salina to do the same, and moved to a small potted tree on the balcony of her solar. She picked it up and carried back to the meditation dais where her pupil sat and placed the plant on the floor before the woman.

"The absorption of energy through Ashla, or what you know as The Force, is one that takes time and practice. Meditate, Salina. Focus on this plant and the energy it provides."

Hearing her teachers instructions Salina felt around before finding the plant in front of her. She took the time to feel every leaf and every detail of it, understanding what plant it was and it's shape, before stopping and closing her eyes to focus. She tried to feel the link between herself and the plant, much like how she was taught to feel the link between herself and a sick or wounded person. She began to reach out, trying to sense the Ashla of the plant, taking deep breaths as she did. With one hand raised she began to try and adsorb the energy from the plant into herself.

Inari slowly paced the room, eyes downcast upon the floor and the route she often walked while thinking. It lead her around the polished stone table at the center of her solar, towards the windows where she might pause to gaze out upon the city below, and back again.

A short glance to watch Salina was telling of the woman's efforts.

"Envision a thread connecting you to this source of energy. It is fragile, like a spider's string. Pull too hard and it will break, pull not enough and the connection weakens. You must seek out the perfect balance between the two and maintain it. This will make the transfer less difficult."

Like a strong the Aesir told her. Salina used that as her focal point, imagining the string in front of her. Her eyes still closed she brought her hand forward, on the leaf of one the plant. As she drew it back she imagined pulling the string ever so lightly. She could feel it. The energy slowly working its way through into her.

@Amorella Mae

"Energy is a transferable thing," Inari remarked as she moved to her balcony and retrieved another pot, "it's potential is quite limitless, but it's value is ephemeral. If not used, transferred, or properly stored it will fade. Using it is easy, storing it is difficult and requires the skill of transfer to do more often than not."

Approaching her pupil, Inari set the second planter pot down before her, "Focus on this energy you take from the plant. Visualize it in your mind as something distinct, something that you are capable of maintaining a path for. Channel it through your body and give it here," Inari gently took the woman's hand and placed it on the bare soil of the second pot, "to the seed within. Help it grow."
