"I conceived the idea of PROJECT TION following the formation of the Imperial Corrections Directorate. Under the guises of renewal, resurgence and elimination of a proven standing threat to the nascent Imperial Confederation, I wrote a letter to Liraeth Deschart that was both compelling and complex in it's plot. There I handpicked individuals from the Imperial remnants to join my cause with the blessing and permission of the Empress..."
-- Her describing PROJECT TION in their memoirs.

The New Imperial Order has long since been a source of fascination for the undercover Dark Lord since she begun influencing the politicks and policies of the Imperial remnants (found along the Outer Rim Territories) since the turn of the ninth-century. Her understanding of the now defunct remnant of the GALACTIC EMPIRE was loose in it's understanding and perspective with only little sources to confirm her suspicions or ideas in the modern day. Only the infamy of their actions and their contributions to the last great Star War-- THE SECOND GREAT HYPERSPACE WAR-- unveiled some idea of who and what they were given that none of her associates or contacts across the galaxy were not apart of the once great NIO.

It was said that at some point, before the advent of the great war, that they were formerly aligned to the Sith Order. Inexplicably, to the Dark Lords of the Sith, they turned their weapons upon them and usurped their diluted grasp upon the great Imperial minds that would form the NIO. Under the banner of the Iron Sun they bloated the crimson skies of the decadent Sith Empire and carved their way through their territories, star systems and sectors in a glorious campaign of war that would later serve as one of many conflicts which broke out and would subsequently be recorded under the umbrella of history that was the SGHW.

Now one of it's templars was set to meet with Her on New Aldera-- the capital world of the Imperial Confederation made up of (currently) four Imperial remnants brought together through the ideas of UNIFICATION personified by Liraeth Deschart.

The purpose of their encounter was rudimentary at least on the surface. To the Errant this was to be mercenary work. The Imperial Corrections Directorate (a new prison system comprised of labour colonies, detention centres and Imperial justice) had reached out with a request for his expertise in the elimination of Force-sensitive threats in Imperial space, and in exchange for payment, he would be rewarded handsomely. Therefore the arranged meeting to finalise the deal and creation of a contract for his work within Confederation territories was, to the eye, straightforward.

But nothing was to the eye when it concerned the woman who traversed the Imperial remnants under the disguise of the Warden Primus.

This was, in effect, all about PROJECT TION: a clandestine operation that was set to begin within the Confederation comprised of hand selected individuals from the varying Imperial remnants who would contribute towards a project that would see the resurgence of IMPERIALISM along the Outer Rim Territories while simultaneously eliminating the long standing Sith threat located in the THANDON STAR CLUSTER. But could this so-called bastard be persuaded to join the cause?

Under the faint illumination of white, eerie lights spinning downward from a Cone of Silence, Her stood in a black tunic upon in front of a large transparisteel window pane which overlooked the capital city of New Aldera, talking to the invited mercenary that she sought to recruit. "I have heard much about the New Imperial Order over these past two years. Would you mind regaling me in some of your former exploits? I am fascinated by the things I have already heard from the Second Great Hyperspace War..."

Born of an unexpected union between the Houses Varanin and Zambrano, the Bastard shouldered the latent power of such lineages with a look of quiet hatred. Armor forged by the greatest craftsmen of the New Imperial Order bore the scars of a thousand battlefields across an equal number of planets. Once gray, the stains of shadow suffused the Crestfallen's plate an inky black like the deepest pools of the Void. His eyes shone crimson, painted the color of blood since the betrayal of his oaths so long ago on Bastion. Not an inkling of pride existed within the echani. He yearned solely for the battlefield, lusting after the feeling of his black blade carving through the flesh and bone of faceless foes and nameless enemies.

When the Bastard crossed the threshold into the agreed upon meeting place, his hollow gaze settled upon Her. He studied the woman briefly.

The neat uniform bespoke a position of great strength within the Imperial Confederation. Her choice of locale—a high-security prison of all places—suggested influence. And her insight led her into the deepest reaches of known space to him—an errant Knight barely scraping by on backwater worlds, eradicating all who opposed his forces in these unsung campaigns.

Stepping beneath the projected Cone, the Bastard clasped his hands together behind his back and stood at attention. Military decorum hadn't left him in his exile; the efforts of the New Empire etched them into every atom of his being, and against even his wishes at times, the albino knew better than to ignore such traditions. They were founded in an unshakeable will and unparalleled disciple. The kind that drove the Sith from Bastion, shattered their empire, and scared the infamous patriarch of House Zambrano into hiding.

Her inquiry into the now-defunct New Imperial Order didn't surprise the Bastard. Many were the Imperial who yearned for a new Golden Age.

"I fought throughout the Braxant Campaign as a member of the Imperial Knights. My blade met many foes across Mageeto, Muunilist, Dubrillion, and Dantooine among others." The Bastard considered the small introduction enough initially, but against his better judgement he continued after a brief pause. "I was trained by the late Emperor, Rurik Fel, directly."

The Bastard considered his late Master with an uncharacteristic warmth. If not for Rurik, the young son of Vaulkhar Zambrano would've had little hope of survival within the New Imperial Order. Such a lineage like that of the Zambrano promised little more than rampant chaos and endless destruction. And in hindsight, the Crestfallen believed a merciful execution trumped his empty existence in the years following the Empire's fall.

"My time with the Order was cut short following Bastion. When Operation Kyber Dark was initiated, the squad of stormtroopers I was leading turned their weapons on a Sith named Vella Forte. We were... lovers, throughout the war. In an effort to save her, I slew my own men, but by then, she was lost to her hate and I was forced to kill her, too. From then on, I was dubbed Crestfallen. An honorless Knight no better than the Sith corpses beneath left in my wake."
