Zeltros - Red Vixen Nightclub

Katarine felt like she was drunk without the benefit of a good time. She could not explain anything that was happening. The galaxy was just... suddenly... different. Nothing looked the same. None of the people were the same. It was almost like she had went to sleep in one universe and woken up in a completely different one!

Even her body felt different. Perhaps the scariest thing was she could barely feel her twin, a presence she could feel so strongly every day of her life, but now it felt she was separated by miles of steel. She would sometimes get small glimmers in the Force from Daxium, but that was it. For the first time her mind was completely her own. It was terrifying.

She was on Zeltros.... but it didn't look like the Zeltros she knew. The businesses were different. She wasn't even sure how she had gotten here. She had been wandering aimlessly for a while, trying to figure out where she was. Well she knew WHERE she was. It was Zeltros... but WHAT was going on was a completely different scenario.

Finally she had ventured inside one of the many clubs that should have been familiar given how much time she spent on this planet, yet looked completely new to her, and sat down in a corner booth. She put her head in her hands and shook it.

What was going on?!?

"It's your bachelor party?"

...

"I DON'T GIVE A GOOD GOD DAMN IF IT'S YOUR BACHELOR PARTY OR NOT YOU LITTLE BASTARD!", Called out a deep and disheartening voice from the second story of the Red Vixen Nightclub. The very next moment, a scene broke out as a pair of men pushed through the packed VIP second floor, one rather large man taking the other by the throat and pressing him against the railing that overlooked the dance floor on the ground level of the club.

"Please!", called the man, who's begging was immediately silenced by the pressure from the larger man's hand. As soon as he applied that pressure, the smaller man grabbed him by the forearm, desperately attempting to pry his hand off of him. It was all for naught, though, as the large man took a step and force the man to slide up on top of the railing so that he was sitting on top of it rather than leaning over. He took another step, and now the man was hanging over the edge with just his legs looped over the edge of the railing, watching the tall, rage stricken man with panicked eyes.

The music was too loud and the multicolored lights were too inconsistent for the entire club's attention to be taken by the event, but needless to say, most of the people in the second story VIP section were well aware. Their many eyes glued to the scene weren't going to help the smaller man, though, and just as the larger of the two began to let go he was stopped by a younger, red skinned man who rushed over to him and whispered something into his ear.

It was enough deter the larger man, who pulled the other back up and dropped him on the floor at his feet. When he did, he knelt down, took a clump of the man's hair and yanked his head back, reaching up with his free hand to brush stray, dark heir from his face so that the smaller man could see the look upon it.

"Don't even touch my girls again.", he warned in whispers that escaped clenched teeth. "Whether they're behind the bar or bare naked in your lap!"

Katarine was lost in thought. The music was pulsing around her and seemed to match the pounding in her head. She could have stayed like that for days in confusion if not for a tiny glimmer of a familiar prescense. Her head shot upwards and immediately those deep green eyes started searching for the one person in the entire galaxy whose presence effected her like a drug. Getting 'high' was the last thing she needed right now but like any addict it sounded so heavenly. She mentally kicked herself and tried to convince herself she was just happy to feel something familiar. Yea that's all it was. Right.

He wasn't hard to find. As usual he was being loud, angry, and violent. At least nobody died. Yet. She wasn't sure she was supposed to be in this section of this club. The guards were eying her as if they were thinking the same thing. She walked over towards Draclau, and the guards seemed to decide she REALLY shouldn't be there because they started towards her. She noticed them out of the corner of her eyes but it would take them a few moments to push through the crowd that had gathered to watch the little scene.

"Christian?" She blinked at him and felt her stomach lighten a little. Finally a familiar face! It had to be him. It was exactly the face she remembered and he was absurdly tall.

Unfortunately a conversation might not happen. The guards were surprisingly agile, perhaps why they had been hired. She felt a palm clasp around her arm and was forced to look away from the man who drew her in like a moth to the flame.

"I just want to talk to someone."

"This area is for VIP only."

"But I.." She felt him tug and felt a surge of annoyance. For a half second she considered snapping the mans neck to get to her drug of choice. She swallowed hard, remembering why this addiction was unhealthy. "I was just going to..."

"I'm sorry miss rules are rules."

She glanced over her shoulder, wondering if he had even heard her and knowing he was important. He probably had more security than the Emperor did.

Christian scoffed as he turned and started to walk away from the scene, his eyes as angry as they'd ever been as he looked over to the young, red skinned individual who'd stopped him. "Why?", he asked, still very much frustrated with not being allowed to kill or at least horribly wound the cocky individual who seemed to think he owned the place. "Because, as you manager, I have to advise you in situations like this, and I'm fairly certain that killing one of our patrons isn't going to help us keep the place packed.", the young, red Zeltroni man said, which was met with a scoff from the taller, dark man.

"Christian?"

The soft words fell upon his ears laced with a voice the struck a chord in the man, and immediately he stopped in his tracks. When he did, others in the club filled the path behind him, closing it up in his wake about as quickly as he'd made it, but that didn't matter. He was taller than everyone else by at least a head, and when he turned and glanced over his shoulder he looked for where the voice had come from, finding no familiar face at first.

As his golden eyes came to rest on a young, pretty woman who was being carted off by his guards, Christian turned slowly to face them as they took her away. "Let her through.", he said, noting how appealing her features were, though he couldn't quite place her face. "Can't you tell the pretty ones from the others?", he asked, a smirk rising in the corner of his mouth as he tilted his head to one side curiously.

"Beautiful women are always allowed in the VIP section.", he told them before he shook his head slightly, laughing a bit as he turned and headed towards the second story bar.

The guard let her arm go, almost a little reluctantly. Katarine could tell he was thinking that beautiful women could also be dangerous women. Maybe to put his mind at ease, or maybe just because Katarine was extremely playful she stuck her tongue out at the guard and turned back towards Christian. He had barely looked at her and now he was walking towards the bar. She frowned, but wondered what she had expected. He had just vanished on her before. Maybe he didn't even want her here.

Deciding that had never really stopped her from bothering him before she followed him to the bar. She stood beside him, presumably while he ordered or got ready to just walk behind the bar and get what he wanted.

"I've missed you." It was the truth but again probably not one he wanted. Sometimes her being affectionate had rattled him. She glanced back over her shoulder, still following him but checking to make sure there were no more surprises.

"You know what I want, Arik.", Christian said with a smirk as he propped his arm up against the bar and waited for the drink to be made. As he did, the happy go lucky little lady he'd just given VIP access himself came bouncing up next to him with her pretty little head and told him something he wasn't expecting.

"I've missed you."

She said it with what appeared to be complete and total conviction, no sarcastic look on her face or confident glint in her eyes that might have made him think she was trying to get his attention in one way or another. She meant it, and that was something that threw Christian for a bit of a loop as he continued to lean comfortable on the bar until the click of a glass bottom broke his concentration. "You've... missed me?", he asked, smirking and trying to play off his surprise as he reached over and plucked the glass of whiskey from the bar top. When he did, he raised it up to her, as if toasting the young woman, smiled and took a sip, swishing it in his mouth before gulping it down.

"I don't believe we've met, unless you caught me on a bad night that we both should have forgotten.", he told her, smiling and raising his free hand to tug a dark ribbon of hair behind his ear.

Katarine felt her face fall into a hurt expression when she heard him say he didn't know her and if he did they ought to forget about it. is that why he had left? Had he realized that he didn't want anything to do with her and fled? She felt smaller all of a sudden, and her concerns about why the galaxy was so crazy seemed put on hold.

"Oh..." She closed her mouth and blinked and she realized he really did wnat nothing to do with her.

"You never wanted to hear from me again..." She felt foolish, as if stating the obvious. She hadn't considered herslef a fling, certainly not a one night stand. The two had spent a great deal of time together and gone through some pretty heavy situations. But before her hadn't he been with lots fo women? Didn't he spent most of his days drinking and flirting and carrying on?

She felt stupid and rejected and a little disoriented. She still had the problem that she had no idea what was going on in the rest of the galaxy, but now did not seem like a good time to ask information from the guy who walked out on her.

"I'll.... just go. I'm sorry.... I just thought... after what you said.... at your casino. " She couldn't finish the sentence. Instead she turned and started trying to weave back through the people she did not recognize, wearing fashions that made no sense even on the Zeltros she knew.

Unfortunately this was not the Zeltros she knew and in her haste to get away from the embarassing rejection Katarine had fled out of the building into the side alley and ran right into a group of swoop bike gangers there for a good time. She apologized and went to step around them but one grabbed her arm.

"Easy babe what is your rush? Stay here and we will take a selfie."

Katarine felt her brow crease. What in the world was a selfie? "I'm sorry what?"

"What is your instagram handle? Or I could snap it to you."

She felt beyond confused. In the galaxy she was from these were not words that would come up in normal conversation. "I think I better go." She stepped around him but he grabbed her again.

"What I'm not good enough to snapchat?"

"I don't even know what that is."

"Oh you don't do you? How about you just give me your credits then?" He put his arm around her and pulled her closer, pulling out vibroblade.

Katarine puleld herself under his arm and automatically reached inside her jacket... only to discover to her horror... that the weapon that was usually there was not.

"Sithspit!"

A creaking noise echoed down the alleyway behind where the group of bikers were getting far too close with a young woman that should have been flagging down a speeder taxi right about that moment, and as it did a few of the biker's heads perked up. Nothing was seen at first, but after a moment a tall figure strode out of the door and turned down the alley, one hand tucked into the pocket of his coat and the other gently grasping a glass of whiskey. It was an intimidating sort of man who only the young woman seemed to know, but even then he gave off a friendly tone to his voice as he called out to them.

"Odd... I don't remember telling that young lady she could leave.", he called out towards them as long, meandering strides took him closer and closer to the group. "In fact, I don't remember getting a word in edge wise before she scampered off without my consent.", he claimed as he raised the glass in his right hand and took a sip of the whiskey, stepping out of the shadows and stopping about five feet from the man holding Katarine.

"I'd like my escort back, if you'd be so kind.", Christian said, actually choosing to try and end this unpleasant little scene without having to resort to violence, which was indeed an incredible rarity for him.

WHY wasn't her lightsaber in her jacket? Had she been drugged and left on Zeltros and just didn't remember it? Fortunately she didn't have to think about it long. Christian was there, possibly more confusing than anything else. She felt her spirits lift a little. He must care a little bit about her, or at least he didn't want to see her killed. He wasn't even murdering people in cold blood. Maybe she had effected him somehow.

"We were just saying hi to her is all. Come on boys." The filed past Christian quickly, entering the club for the night they had originally intended.

Katarine stood there looking at Christian, not quite sure what to say. Part of her was furious with him for the comment about her running off without letting him get a word in. HE was the one who ran off and then blew her off five minutes ago. On the other hand he'd just saved her life or at least saved her a lot of hand - to - hand combat and there was no denying that she cared for him. Just seeing him was enough to make her feel warm.

"Thank you." She sighed and stuck her hands in her jacket pocket, which made her remember the disaster she was in. "Christian my lightsaber is not in my jacket. Something weird is going on. When I went to sleep on was on Mon Cal in a Rebel bunker preparing for a raid in the Imperial system Bastion. When I woke up I was here. My weapon is gone and..." She reached down to her boot and felt around, frowning. Her former mother in laws weapon was not there either.

"I don't know what is going on." She had no idea why she was telling him, only just that he didn't quite care as little as he would like her to believe a few moments ago.

Christian watched as the men carefully made their ways around him and back into the club, which gave him a bit of a reason to smile in and of itself. When the young woman retrieved his attention with her panicked talk, however, Christian turned and displayed a bit of a puzzled look, listening as he took another sip from his glass of whiskey. When she finished, though, he wasted no time in forming a reply, taking one step so that he could lean comfortably against a speeder that had been parked next to them.

"Calm down, Love.", he said, smirking as he looked her tight little figure up and down again with those entrancing, golden brown eyes. "Perhaps you just need one of these to take the edge off.", he told her as he raised an arm, glass in hand and plucked the side of it with his pinkie finger which caused it to emit a ping. He then thought about what she'd just said, however, immediately rethinking what he'd said as he laughed lightly, with a deep humming from the base of his throat.

"Or... perhaps you've taken a bit too much edge off."

"Are you making fun of me?" She asked with a somewhat amused expression on her face. It was unlike him in every way and yet Katarine was playful and much preferred this teasing to him blowing her off.

She came back towards him until she was staring straight up into the amber eyes that still turned Crimson in her nightmares. "You know I don't drink. If I was drunk you would know it. " Well at least if she were drunk off alcohol. Intoxicated off a different and far more attractive drug was another matter.

Without hesitation Katarine wrapped her arms around his waist and nuzzled her head into his chest. The effect was immediate and left Katarine practically purring. She felt content for the first time in a long stretch of anxiety ridden moments.

"Why did you disappear last time? Did you not mean all those things you said?" Her voice was soft and far more guarded than her body language. She didn't want to hear him say he didn't love her even if she knew that must be true.

Despite the sinking realization he was about to break her heart Katarine was smiling with her eyes closed as his prescence washed over her.

It wasn't until she finally let her senses notice anything but how nice his skin felt even through his clothes that she realized the Force was thick with warning. Her eyes shot open to stare up at him and she froze.

"You're not Christian Draclau are you?"

Christian didn't protest when the woman reached out and wrapped her arms around his waist and help him in her tight embrace. It was obvious to him now that this young woman was confused, and he certainly didn't wish to drive her confusion further off track or frighten her. When she connected the dots, though, he became unsure of how she might react. He didn't know that she would get better for having known that he wasn't who she thought he was, or worse, but he'd soon find out.

"Well...", Christian said as he rolled his shoulders back so that he could look down at the young woman, close in proximity to him. "My name is Christian, so you're not entirely wrong. My last name, however, is Slade. Not... Drac... Dracula?", he asked her, not entirely certain of the name she'd just used and wondering if maybe she was playing games with him instead of the other way around.

Usually Christian was the one who toyed with women and prodded their minds for their needs and desires, dangling lust before their eyes from a long, thin thread. All he'd ever had to do was thank the gods for his good looks and wait for the alcohol to take effect, but this woman didn't smell of alcohol, just crazy.

"I'm sorry, Brighteyes.", Christian told her. "I suppose I'm not your man..."

It wasn't the first time someone else that looked exactly like Christian but wasn't him had spoken to her. Her mind drifted back towards Deagon and she shuddered, but this didn't seem to be like that. Was it possible there was some other spirit caught inside him? Was she even sure it was him?

Superstitiously her back shoulder tingled, as if reminding her of the lightsaber she'd taken through the shoulder blade the last time a shape shifter had tried to impersonate someone she loved. She narrowed her eyes and stared at the amber orbs hovering a few feet above her face. Slowly, tentatively, she reached for him in the Force, hopping to get some idea of his presence. She didn't exactly know what she would do if she sensed Malice...

Her brow wrinkled in confusion. It didn't feel like anything but Christian, the same Christian she knew and loved, and yet he wasn't? He truly did not know her at all. Feeling a bit stupid for invading the space of a total stranger Katarine let him go and backed up awkwardly. She was still staring at him in confusion, when finally those deep green eyes slid over to the street beyond them. He wasn't the only thing that had changed.

"I.... I'm sorry." She didn't know what to do now. It felt weird, as if going against her baser instincts, to put distance between the two of them, and the fact that he was letting her felt like a white hot knife in her gut. He usually pulled her to him, physically, literally, and mentally.

She heard some people in the front hollering for an air speeder and watched from the alley as a machine she didn't recognize pulled up and let the people board. Her eyes glanced back towards the building with the odd letters flashing. It was a language she hadn't ever seen before. She stared at him again, her deep green eyes rolling over him from head to toe for the first time, taking in the odd attire. It seemed odd to her, but everyone else seemed to wear similar fashions.

Maybe she was crazy. She pulled her jacket around her, chilled by that thought and let a long breath out slowly. This was going to be difficult. "Right umm is there some place we could go and talk? I have a few questions and hopefully I can figure out what is going on and get out of your hair."

Her brow creased with the realization that she was talking to a stranger, a stranger who she had done nothing but act crazy towards since he first set eyes on her. She rubbed her head. Yes this was difficult. "I'm not dangerous. I'm unarmed. You can check for yourself." This was absurd. If he wanted to kill her he could, frak he'd almost done it once. Or at least Christian Draclau had?

She felt dizzy for real now.

Christian watched the woman, eyes narrowing as a look of slight concern crossed his face while she continued to question herself and what she believe. It was sad to see her so out of sorts and so very out of place for the moment, which he took into consideration as he noted that look in her eyes. That look that told him she knew him more than just well and he had made quite the impression once upon a time, or perhaps she had seen him in a tabloid or on the holo presenting a new casino.

He couldn't be sure if she was just crazy or very confused, but what one thing he was absolutely certain of was that she held conviction in what she was saying. She believed every word, and as she spoke to him with such certainty in her voice and hope in her eyes, he had actually started to believe it himself. Perhaps that's why he responded in kind with a quick and easy, "Of course.", without really thinking that he could be just asking for a psychotic stalker, but this one was beautiful enough to go through the trouble.

"I can tell you're a little out of sorts tonight, and more than that, you're not giving off any tells that would suggest you were lying. Just the ones that are related to attraction like the blush of your cheek and those dilated eyes.", Christian said, smirking as he spoke and took a couple of steps to close the distance between them. As he did, he reached out and took her right hand into his left gently, but he wasn't prepared for what came next.

As he touched her truly for the first time he felt a familiar pulse of excitement that rushed through his body, which cause him to stop for just a moment, glancing away from her and across the street as he tried to place the feeling he'd just had. He couldn't, though, and even he was driven further into confusion, feeling almost as uncertain as the young woman next to him before he forced himself to back into his typical character.

"Lets...", he said, glancing back towards the woman next to him. "Let's move on across the street. I have the suite on permanent reserve at the hotel there.", he said, reaching out with his right hand, which was now clasping his glass of whiskey, to extend his index finger and point out the tall standing structure.

He didn't send her away or call the police so that had to be a good start. On the contrary, he looked quite concerned for her. It made her brow wrinkle in confusion. This version of Christian... Slade was it? This version seemed a lot less hostile. Maybe that was a good thing. In fact Katarine was sure that was a good thing.

He offered to help her and she tried to smile, but she was still confused and worried she was crazy so it didn't touch those deep green eyes. The next moment he took her hand and Katarine felt the dizziness start. It was no longer something she rebelled against, though currently she was trying to. Her head had to be clear so she could ask him questions. He wasn't looking at her, and she was a little relieved. She wasn't quite sure how to admit to someone who thought he was a total stranger that his skin made her feel dizzy, dazzled, and floaty.

Had the day been normal and everything been right Katarine would have walked hand in hand with him to wherever he wanted. She would have just put her faith in him that he wasn't going to let her fall down from lightheaded feelings or lead her into a trap or hurt her. It would have been all too easy for this man to hurt Katarine. All he had to do is lay a finger on her to make her weaker than any Jedi had a right to be. She'd spent the first part of their relationship avoiding contact with him but eventually had surrendered and become all too willing to be consumed by the feelings he gave her. Somehow he'd picked up on whatever made her act that way, or at least he seemed to, and she'd stopped feeling weird when the dizziness set in.

Now however it seemed they were back to the beginning with Katarine waring with herself and forcing her body to do things it didn't want to do so her mind could take over. She took a few steps with him in as much of a straight line as she could walk and then gently and as casually as she could slipped her hand out of his and put it in her pocket. Her head cleared a little with the loss of contact but she still felt like her nostrils were burning with his scent. It was powerful having been away from him so long and she wasn't sure she could navigate the street holding his hand. She didn't know how to admit this to a stranger so it was back to the coy avoiding game despite every nerve in her body wanting to be near him.

It didn't take long to enter the other building and head for the lift. Nobody stopped them. He was too recognizable as someone important on this planet. They got in the lift and Katarine closed her eyes briefly. She felt like her skin was on fire.

"Thank you for helping me." She wanted to apologize for the trouble she was causing but couldn't see how to do so and sound sincere. She was sorry he was being dragged away from whatever he had planned that night, but she also wanted nothing more than to be in his company so she decided not to bring it up at all.

A slight ding announced the lift had stopped.

[member="Christian Slade"]

Christian Slade

In Darkness I Thrive
Christian had been perched up in one of the corners of the lift, either of his hands slipped into the pockets of his duster as he laid his head gently back into the corner. He looked down his nose at the woman with those mysterious, slanted, golden eyes he had, wondering what kind of sensation she'd just forced upon him and just who she was exactly. Clearly they had been acquainted, in this life or the next, long ago or destined to be, so what was it? What was it about her that was giving him an itch about his new friend? Why was it that he was oddly attracted to her, yet weary of her all the same? Why did he want her, yet resent her for making him want her.

When they heard a ding, Christian didn't move a muscle for a few moments. He simply remained standing, leaning back into that corner, staring at her like he was carefully eyeing his intended prey. As he did, he could almost smell unease on the woman as if he had looked at her like that before. It was clear that she wasn't surprised by the way he was looking at her, which pressed his puzzled mind even further into confusion.

"Ladies first...", Christian finally said, pulling one of his hands out of his pockets and holding it out towards the open door. He then reached out with that same hand and plucked his glass of whiskey from a glass shelf in the lift, leaning forward and allowing himself to fall into stride smoothly behind the young, tight creature who'd emerged from the woodwork of Zeltros to capture his eye that day. When he stepped out of the lift he stopped and waved his hand over the panel on the outside of it. As he did the doors slid shut and the lift locked in it's place making sure that the only use that would come out of it was a trip back down to ground floor.

The room was dark, and Christian was quiet. When he moved, he moved with grace, a sure pair of feet telling no one when or where he was moving. He would simply have to be announced in other ways, like by the ping of a glass as that rang out as the lip of a whiskey bottle graze it's edge while he poured himself a fresh glass.

"Would you like a glass, or do you prefer to share?", he asked with a calm, yet pensive look upon his face.

Katarine was avoiding his predatory gaze with a certain determination. She stared straight ahead at the opened doors, putting all of her concentration on simply breathing. Someday she would understand the feelings a dark presence like this brought about. She had a theory about her DNA and why the darkside effected her so, but she wasn't sure if it was correct. Either way she couldn't bring herself to glance sideways at him. She knew exactly what he was doing of course, but Katarine was trying not to pass out from it.

Finally he motioned her forward and she left the lift like an inmate escaping a life sentence. The ironic part is she didn't want to escape. She wanted to feel dizzy and floaty and escape the horrible sensation that she was crazy. She wanted a hit of the strongest drug she'd ever come across but she needed it like she needed a hole in the head. This was not going to be easy.

They went inside and the room was dark. She felt him leave the space behind her despite the darkness. He wasn't difficult to miss. Every molecule in her body was hyper aware of him. She gritted her teeth and pretended not to notice this as he offered her a drink. "I don't hold alcohol well. The last time you offered me some I embarrassed myself in your speeder and drove you crazy." The words were out of her mouth before she'd really thought about them. She sighed and ran her fingers through her hair in agitation. That hadn't been him. Had it? Gah!

"Umm... never mind. I just meant I don't really drink a lot." She closed her eyes and shook her head. She felt like she was an awkward teenager again trying to have a conversation with Daxium.

"Why don't we just sit down and I'll ask you some questions and then I'll..." She swallowed hard, realizing that despite what she had said in the alley she really didn't want to get out of his hair in anyway. "Well let's just start with some questions."

She turned, intending to sit at what looked like a table through the darkness but unfortunately he was a little more quiet than she gave him credit for. She bumped into him and felt the room spin. Groaning out loud she backed up quickly and stumbled, catching the end of some type of end table to steady herself.

"Lights would be a good too Tiger."

When he felt a gentle bump into his left hip he could actually taste the a hormonal shift in the air. He could practically smell the woman's desires on her, thick like a moisture in the air as she caught herself and made her comment about the lights. That's when Chrsitian glanced over at her, letting those golden eyes slant closed as he nodded towards her with that smirk on his face. As he did he raised his free hand and arched his finger lick he was flicking a light switch, the room brightening slightly in result. It was a dim, more soothing light, but more than enough to function in.

"Well...", he said with that deep, calm voice he had. "It seems like you know plenty about me already, but I suppose I'll answer some of your questions if you'll adhere to one rule.", he told her, taking a second glass and filling it halfway up with whiskey. He then pulled another bottle from a mini fridge etched into the wall of the suite. As he did he set the second glass down, unscrewed the cap and poured out a bit of it's sugary, bubbly contents into it, then taking the glass into his left hand as he took the original in his right.

"I'll answer one question...", he told her as he slowly turned and weaved through the furnishings of the room until he found himself standing next to a long, soft, white couch. When he stopped, he motioned for her to join him as he lowered down and sat on one end of it, reaching out the glass in his left hand and holding it towards the opposite end of the couch. "...for every drink that you take.", he told her, his smirk growing a bit larger so that one of his canines could be seen peeking through his lips at the corner of his mouth.

"Don't worry.", he told her, trying to reassure her that it was okay. "I've sweetened your drink so that it goes down smooth, and you don't have to drink any more than you want to. Just as much as you'd like if you really want to learn a thing or two about me."

The lights came on dimly and Katarine blinked a few times to adjust her eyes. He was busy getting himself a drink or so she thought. She leaned against the table, watching him. She frowned when she realized he was filling a second glass. He sat down on his white sofa and motioned for her to join him, after he proposed his deal.

She watched him for a second. The internal struggle was almost visible on her face. On the one hand Katarine was extremely playful. A game like this or any other game worth winning was a challenge she wouldn't back down from. On the other hand it was hard enough to think with him on the other side of the room let alone on the couch next to her while she was drinking.

She narrowed her eyes at him. She had to keep reminding herself that he didn't know her. It was entirely plausible that Christian Slade was intending to play a drinking game with some girl he'd met at a bar for fun. It was the type of life he lived. It wasn't his fault that Katarine knew him, had deeper feelings for him, and was not the average drinking game player type. She closed her eyes and took a deep breath. She needed answers. He had answers.

And besides... she really wanted to play. Katarine always wanted to play.

She came forward with the same stern look on her face and took the glass from him. She took a small sip and wrenched her eyes closed as it burned slightly. It wasn't nearly as bad as the time she'd drank from his glass and felt her throat on fire, she'd give him that.

"Okay... umm.... Did you knowingly change your name or have you been Christian Slade since you were a little boy?"

She stood there looking down at him, not quite sure that joining him on the sofa was a smart idea.
