- Clan engravings carved into the Phrik alloy have all been done by Ylva's own hand creating a truly personal feel to the two War-Axes and making them her own. These Carvings have been fashioned from the likes of other weapons to have had come out of Clan Solveig and now that she is the sole survivor, this speaks as a triumph of hers in her mind.
- Phrik Blades - Offering a high yield blade for each War-Axe that can contend with the likes of Light-sabers due to their resistance to said energy weapons.
- Well balanced - weight distribution given the size and style of the weapons are adequate for Ylva's style of fighting. The Blades are heavy top side and allow for great momentum in strikes while their being single-handed still provides her with ease of control. The 3kg weapons not overly difficult to maneuver nor has the craftsmanship left them imbalanced at all.
- Short reach - Compared to the length of broadswords and larger weapons, these Axe's have a strong disadvantage in rang and require the user to get up close and personal in every fight. Most often, the vicious nature of their use endangers the wielder equally so as their opponent leaving them with a greater challenge should they need to fall back on the retreat and get clear of any incoming attacks.
- Provides zero defense against fire-arms or ranged weapons - These don't work like lightsabers, being shot at will still result in death or severe injury without cover to keep you safe. A weapon for a warrior, not that of a Wizard !
DESCRIPTION
Like all of her possessions on hand, the pair of Axe's that hang notched by her belt upon either hip have been crafted personally by Ylva Songeif with the aid of weapons and items she's managed to take from other warriors, dead or alive. The biggest distinction about these weapons are not their edge however but the carving and almost tribal patterns that have been etched against the hard metal, a work that had taken her weeks to complete during the cold nights of Nirauan's least favorable season. Representing the Clan of Outcasts that she had been brought up in and eventually been led to kill, her paying respects to the past by carrying such tributes does not detract from her hatred of them still and in every man she might be forced to kill with these Axe's, her belief is that they too likely had it coming as did her families murderers. An eye for an eye, the theme surrounding such bearded blades.
As far as the creation of these weapons are concerned, beyond the use of the Phrik itself, there's not much else here that could warrant these Axes being any highly prized than those of traditional make. Their grips and handles have been shaped from the wood of Nirauan's forestry, the leather taken from the Qom Jha over several hunts and also having been used in the make of her bow. These are weapons of war, with little other purpose than to be thrust against those who would seek to gain a hand over her.
There is very little else to be said and for whatever expectations that need to be proven, their use in the battles to come will do well to provide for Ylva Solveig. The Savage of Fire and Ice.
