There wasn't much a nerd, a torch carrying bounty hunter, a married businessman and a flying motel Captain could agree on. With such an odd and diverse group, the challenge was to find something entertaining for them all. The wealthy and highly political planet of Procopia provided the answer. Located on Estalle Island was a large Entertainment District, home to a number of casinos and various amusements.

The Fairweld Casino was their current base of operations. Like everything on Procopia it was ornate and in his mind, a bit on the gaudy side. Judah and his group were on the open level of the casino, he doubted any of them felt like throwing their money away in the high-roller clubs that operated on the topmost levels. Off in the distance, the mildly annoying sound of lugjack machines could be heard, sucking in credits like a gale on the ocean.

Taking a long drag of his cigarette, Judah stared at his sabacc cards. The rest of their merry band was seated around the electronic dealer, along with some fellow casino goers. He already had ten credits in the pile and cruddy cards : an Idiot and Demise, for a grand total of negative thirteen. Looking at the others, Judah wondered whether to keep up the charade or fold.

"Dealer is killin' me over here." Judah commented to the man seated on his right, that torch carrying bounty hunter named Harkin. The two had become fast friends, finding themselves similar in personality and ideals. The two other men in their group - Jorus and Sammo were slightly different. Jorus was a well trusted business associate, one Judah wanted to keep on ordering from Salacia Consolidated. Sammo.....well, Judah needed to approach Sammo about carrying cargo, but in the meantime he was forever thankful to the Captain for getting him that information off a droid brain.

"Jorus, Sammo. I hope your luck is better."

Harkin Kane

Back In The Saddle
Harkin sat with his face scrunched between his hands as he leaned on the table lost in thought. 'Wonder how easy it is to cheat an automated dealer...' Judah brought his attention back to the table and he winced at his friend's misfortune. Harkin had snagged a few cards from a table a rock skip away from their own. He started to offer his stash to Judah, but man-of-the-hour or not, Harkin didn't want to give up his edge. Of course the question still reigned. Were these cards coded for the specific tables, or could Harkin actually get out of the ten credit slump he found himself in as well...

The hand was unimpressive. He could beat half the table and lose to at least one of'em, at a guess. But then, Jorus had never been all that great at intuiting the odds of sabacc.

"Well, I'd say a Jedi would say my hand is solid...from a certain point of view. You see, Judah," he said, affecting a fruity high-class Kenobi accent, "many of the truths we cling to depend greatly on our point of view."

Sammo smiled at Jorus' comment and he glanced to his cards and then to others, his smile morphing into a smirk.
He liked Sabacc so far, of course the game was much easier when your eyes could simply see through the cards to learn about other player's hands. Besides, it gave him a chance to get out from the ship at once and not get shot at. Well not at first at least. Anyway, it was pretty fun for him so far,
"I'll raise you ten chips, friends."
He glanced to them as he pushed the chips up on the table, it seemed he had the best cards so far with Jorus taking second place with his average selection.

He smiled to Judah,
"So, mister Judy, are you excited for the upcoming big day? Big step after all."
He grinned to him before he motioned to a passing-by waitress to get closer, looking back to them he asked,
"Few rounds of drinks on me to celebrate the occasion?"

"So my point of view is telling me these cards are worthless? Thanks for the advice."

Seeing no one else was faring any better than himself, Judah tossed in another ten credits. Harkin was acting a little suspicious next to him...but then again the salvager found his friend to be a little odd at times. Judah suspected he had taken too many blows to the brain. Then again, Judah suspected his fellow Sanctum brethren had also taken several blows, insisting on calling him 'Mister Judy' at every turn. It didn't matter how much he had corrected the man either. Perhaps wearing one of those "Hello, My Name Is" tags would do the trick.

"Not really a big step for us, merely a formality. All but married in name." About to wave off a drink, the lights flickered. The gambling room went dark, murmuring swept quickly through the crowd. Judah on the other hand remained seated.

"Gamble away all your money and they still can't keep the lights on."

Harkin Kane

Back In The Saddle
Harkin sat uncomfortably at the table. Oh sure he had played the game before, but usually the rules were different. Among bounty hunters it was who could cheat the best and the most without getting smoked by the other players. Who knew that wasn't the traditional rules to Sabacc. With the man raising the bid Harkin's mind was made up, 'Yup, I'm gonna cheat.' The decision left to be made was when. @[member="Sammo Hache-Khe of Rae"] offer for booze was almost instinctively met with affirmation, but the old sailor caught himself.

"I'm playing designated pilot tonight, but thanks any how pal."

The generators let out sighs of death as the lights shut off all at once.
'Now!' In one quick swoop Harkin switched out a card from his hand during the seconds of darkness. Unfortunately those seconds seemed to continue leaving the casino dark and his attempt at cheating unnoticed but in vain. "Well damn. And I was gonna go all in..." Harkin looked towards the dark outline of @[member="Judah Dashiell"] "Someone forget to pay the bills?"

As the minutes in complete darkness started to prolong,
Although Sammo caught Harkin's cheating act, he couldn't say anything though because they would know he cheated as well!

After a while, his sigh was heard and the sound of him laying down his cards on the table.
"Go gooberfish.."
He muttered in a joke
