Description:

Realizing that a galaxy at war needs reliable defensive installations, Tenloss, under direction of Supreme Chancellor Popo, brushed off a tried and true design and updated it to the modern age.

The XQ3 Platform updated the aging and obsolete XQ2 and brought the XQ Series back onto the market. Designed as a support station, the XQ3 carries fifteen turbolaser batteries, primarily for self defense, scattered evenly throughout the hull. A defensive system of flak guns, point defense guns, and quad lasers arranged into batteries per weapon type are also scattered evenly around the hull for maximum AA protection. The station’s true weapon, however, lies in its hangar.

Capable of the massive hangar spaces for a support station, the XQ3 holds enough space for two hundred seventy six small craft which is able to be divvied up to the buyer’s desire, though the standard is two hundred fighters and thirty eight gunships.

On top of this, the XQ3 can also act as a fueling station, a customs port/transportation hub, and a sensor station on top of its standard defensive layout.

The downsides to the design are fairly simple: The station is fragile, as denoted by a support station’s armor and structural integrity, and that it is immobile, requiring the compartmentalized sections to be transported and assembled on site. Also, while the platform can act as a sensor station, the advanced sensors are an experimental Tenloss design and, for reasons yet unknown to Tenloss designers and shipwrights, the sensors strangely make the station easier to target with missiles and torpedoes. In response to this, instead of redesigning the advanced sensors, Tenloss simply added an extra defensive weapon or two to handle the increased incoming fire.
