Biography
Born on Xak Tharakus his upbringing was typical for most of his kind, he spent much of his time in the care of his mother while his father one of the chief members of the Citalee Migrant Fleet returned to help observe the transition of power to his replacement. A process which took just over a decade, by this time he was studying under the mentorship of Quitzilla the Illustrious. Quitzilla was a old but respected mentor who helped him understand Avali protocol and common pitfalls experienced by young males, a valuable resource that helped him navigate Avali politics and avoid power struggles that would ultimately halt his career.
This education and support helped elevate him to the position of Lieutenant early into his career. Not all was favourable however, with many of his clutchmates and peers acting against him. What began a minor inconvenience eventually led to currently appointed Admiral of Citalee to assign to him a assistant known as Quauhatli Sacul. The reasoning for this was never given, but he suspected they had been deceived into thinking he was somehow acting behind their back or stealing from the Guild.
However, he knew better than to refuse a gift. Refusing it might draw greater ire, and despite all his reservations the fact Quauhatli carried his families name meant he was someone of great worth. A risk yes, but one that might become an advantage. Their initial time together didn't go quite as well as he hoped, to Xitli the Satorian was far above his station often speaking out of turn or offering unwelcomed advise that distracted them.
This would come to a head when serving abroad a medical frigate the ship lost resonance dropping from Hyperspace too early leaving them stuck in a nebula and sustaining heavy damage leaving many of the crew wounded or injured. In the engineering bay at the time, the reinforced walls had sheltered them from the worst of it. This ultimately forced them to put aside their differences and work together to help restore thrust and power to sections of the ship.
After limping back to the fleet, Xitli was promoted to Commander replacing a injured officer and Xihuitl filled the now vacant position of Lieutenant. This infruiated many of Xitli rivals who had been denied the promotion amusing him greatly further he now had one of the only Satorians to attain a high rank within the Migrant Fleet immediately evaluating his own position.
This event set in motion an attempt on his life, when a Avali officer through one of his own Satorians leaked information on their valuable cargo and location to a Imperial Remnant Outpost in the region leading to their capture and the death of their Captain. This placed Xitli into a position of command, and after 3 months he and his remaining crew attempted their escape. It was successful, but not without cost a couple of Avali and many more Satorians lost their lives and he himself was seriously injured leading him to cede control to Xihuitl.
Weeks later, Xatli would wake up on Xak Tharakus where he had been recovering. Surprised and confused he immediately asked what had happened. It was explained that his mother temporarily permitted his presence on the planet so he could receive medical attention while the Ship was impounded pending a investigation. It was believed Quauhatli had leaked the information resulting in their capture. Frustrated and angered by this he immediately called upon political favours to move against the motion, which saved Quauhatli from a execution but significantly damaged his own career.
Knowing this he began shifting his efforts to rooting out the individuals involved, he found moderate success managing to identify the particular Satorians involved but by then many years had passed and they had already been exchanged between several families within the Guild and Xihuitl was starting to succumb to avarice. Feeling he still owed a debt to the Satorian, he fulfilled the Satorians desire for freedom and arranged a deal with smugglers in secret to transport Xihuitl beyond Avali territories.
That was just over a decade ago, during which time Xitli has begun rebuilding his connections and career, most recently his uncle has taken the position of Admiral and prompted him to Captain aboard the Merchant Ship Chalco.
