He observed that the Sith were trapped in a cycle of betrayal and self-destruction, where apprentices constantly overthrew their masters, ensuring no lasting legacy could be built. Deciding this path was futile, he rejected it and fled into the Unknown Regions.
His journey away from the Sith was difficult. He was pursued by agents of his former order and had to constantly fight against the dark side instincts ingrained in him. To purge these tendencies, he developed a rigorous routine of mental and physical discipline. Through intense meditation and personal rituals, he systematically dismantled his Sith conditioning. He did not come to see the light side of the Force as passive or weak. Instead, he views it as a form of disciplined, creative power that requires greater strength than unleashing raw emotion.
This philosophy led him to seek out Krass, a renowned artisan on the forge world of Krass. Xiann needed a new lightsaber crystal, a focal point for his reconfigured connection to the Force. At the forge, he found a practical application for his skills. The focus on creation and craftsmanship resonated with his belief in using power constructively. Krass offered him a place where his unique background could be an asset.
He now serves as a valuable expert to Krass. His firsthand knowledge of Sith methods makes him uniquely qualified to handle dangerous artifacts. He provides crucial insight on how to safely contain, deactivate, or destroy Sith relics, using his understanding of their creation against them. In this role, he has found a purpose, using his hard-won skills for protection and creation instead of destruction.
