APPEARANCE:
Typical Pyke with a large and elongated head, a tapered skull and an undersized face. He’s quite attractive for his species, with an especially well-formed cranium and doesn’t understand the small face stigma at all. His body is tall and slender like most of his species, and he’s agile but relies on armor or tools to boost his strength. Three fingers on each hand like all of his species, he’s unremarkable for the most part allowing him to blend in, but does have bigger feet than usual.
BIOGRAPHY, Before RP Started.
Not much of a complicated childhood. Xi was a regular Pyke, whose family worked for the syndicate and others in the spice trade. All his life he’s jumped spice freighter to spice freighter to crew the ships and work the game. Game is the game. During his travels, he’s managed to rack up contacts in the spice trade and that’s his primary focus, elicit smuggling, he’s actually very good at getting the better deals. Building up a reputation as reliable, which is a rare thing in the underworld. Preferring the old adage you live and die on your reputation, and a man has to have a code. Maybe that just came from the holovids, but Xi lives it, a man hasn’t got his name, then he hasn’t got anything. It doesn't mean he isn't a thief, but there is a way of doing things and loyalty means a lot.
Known for spending days locked away on the holonet playing pazaak and other games of chance, he also enjoys reading, which is what he spent most of his youth doing on long freighter journeys when he wasn’t working. Reading crime novels started as a way to get ideas, but it progressed into a hobby. Xi Reading philosophy is a pastime oddly enough too, and that is where he got his code from, he knows it doesn't make him any better than anyone else, he's just a slicing-spicer and he's okay with that. Xi also likes vintage art, fish as pets, and of course fine spice in liquid or smoked form is preferred. Having a love-hate relationship with the Pyke Syndicate. He works for them, because he owes them money. They give him some pull because he slices well and doesn’t shoot badly either. Contracting out to Darkwire has given him some space, found him a friend or two, but often the Pyke’s will always be rubbing him the wrong way looking for an angle. Just the nature of the beast, the game is the game.
So how does someone who pays his debts, having a good rep and caring about his name receive a huge debt? Because his sister ran off with a syndicate freighters full of spice on a mission to rescue her lover Xaro, and so far Xi has not seen her since. The deal is he pays the syndicate, so they don’t find and kill her, a debt of spice which will take him two lifetimes at the prices and markup they are demanding. Her running off hurt him truth be told, they were always thick as thieves, and very good at being them too! He would have gone with her too. What she has done is stirrup a hornet's nest with the Uos Family and the Haxion Brood, something else he's got looming over his shoulder to deal with. If he ever catches up with her!
