POPULATION
- Native Species: Avali (4~5%)
- Immigrated Species: Satorian (93%), Other (2%)
- Population: Sparse
- Demographics:
Despite being the Homeworld to the Avali visitors would be forgiven to assume it is, in fact, the home of the Satorians with the species accounting for a significant share of the planet's population (around 80~85%), as a result, most visitors spend more time interacting with Satorians than they do Avali which make up around 10~12% of the population and the remaining 3~4% being other sentient species of the Galaxy.
The welcome individuals can expect depends upon their business on the world, while not outwardly Xenophobic visitors must remember local and off-planetary populations consider Xak Tharakus to be a sacred place that is usually only accessible to those invited. That said, it's not unheard of for outsiders to visit the planet without permission, and the scarce population sometimes makes enforcement difficult outside populated zones. If discovered, however, it is a reasonable assumption that Custodians would immediately attempt to intercept and encourage such individuals to leave or risk punishment under Avali Law and Customs (usually imprisonment or 'community service').
Those lucky enough to be invited are usually the owners or senior administrators of wealthy businesses, and with the change in Avali leadership and warming borders, several prominent corporations already hold small offices there. As a result, tourists are an extremely rare sight and the Avali while accommodating will remain cautious of any visitors.
[ Please describe the population assortment found on this planet. Is it primarily human inhabitants with only a small percentage of aliens? Or perhaps the other way around? Is this a place open to all kinds of races or is there a strong theme of racism and xenophobia? Specific race percentages are welcome but not required. ] - Primary Languages: [ Include any languages primarily spoken on this planet. Galactic Basic is an example of a language speaking across the Galaxy. ]
- Culture: [ General overview of the inhabitant's behaviors. This should include information about daily life, society, arts, sports, religion. ]
- Government: Corporatocracy
- Affiliation: Avali Confederation
- Wealth: Wealthy.
- Stability: High - Avali keep strong checks in place for visitors, and troublemakers usually don't get very far. Most instability is born from Guild rivalries, but visitors are usually insulated and do not see them.
- Freedom & Oppression:
Residents enjoy relative freedoms provided they do not contradict Avali social norms, for example, Avali usually expects females to have higher status.
The use of recreational drugs varies from place to place, some Guilds benefit from its trade and thus are lenient. Others less so have outlawed or proactively prohibited it.
Slavery isn't outlawed, but Avali society holds owners to account and it is heavily frowned upon to mistreat servants. As a result, slaves have some level of legal protection but if mistreated the best they might hope for is to be taken into the care of an Avali master as confiscated goods. This isn't always a bad thing, as all Avali have a vested interest in upskilling and improving the quality of life of their attendants.
In essence, the local population is defensive and will act to reinforce its rules providing you abide by those rules you won't have much of a problem. It should be noted that rules may change between population centres as these usually fall under the jurisdiction of different guilds or houses. The only real exception is with regards to Yuuzhan Vong which many of the older Avali still share a bitter hatred for.
- Military:
- Xak Tharakus is considered a Holy World by the Excan Tlahtoloyan, and many of its population are vehemently opposed to armed conflict perceiving the cost in life and resources too great. Diplomatic avenues are more commonly preferred but there have been several occasions where the planet has fallen under siege. In the event such a conflict commanders should consider and be aware of the following;
- Temple Cities - So-called Temple Cities are scattered across the planet's surface, these dense population centres which host many of the Avali political and economic elite. As a result, they are heavily defended usually equipped with shield generators although most lack the automated defence systems you might find on other worlds instead of favouring dedicated hardpoints for miltia holdouts and confusing city layouts designed to dissuade attackers and force them into prolonged sieges.
- Planetary Defence Force - There are two parts to the Planetary Defence Force, a large Satorian population will often find itself drafted into a militia with many having received basic combat training at some stage of their lives. They are physically weak being reliant upon ranged weaponry preferring to fight from defensive positions or engage in guerilla tactics to win the day. Despite their skitterish appearance, their morale is very difficult to break while under an Avali's command.
The second element is the Custodians, these are male Avali who live upon the surface. They are small but elite core who favour melee combat and will often be attached to retinues of specially trained Satorian 'honour guards' who provide ranged support. On the battlefield, they function as officers and commanders, while female counterparts fulfil the roles of Generals. Custodians have very limited effectiveness in ranged combat but rarely expose themselves unless forced. If deployed the Avali are either desperate or have found an opportunity to expose and eliminate enemy leaders.
Generally speaking, the most successful assaults on the Avali homeworld have been lightning attacks, focusing on assassinating Avali and preventing Satorians from digging into fortified hardpoints. In such an event, Commanders should be prepared to take heavy losses or be forced into an unfavourable siege. - Guild Fleets - Xak Tharakus' greatest military power lies in its space assets, with several large fleets regularly in its orbit. These fleets double as homes for many male Avali and their servants. While primarily civilian vessels, most fleets retain a small group of military vessels capable of fielding capital weaponry. Avali tactics are unconventional being reliant upon numerous boarding actions with enemy ships, as such Avali ships are usually lightly armed but heavily armoured and shielded. Furthermore, Avali leadership are highly skilled naval experts, and many younger members are skilful pilots. The most notable of these is the Citalee Fleet which makes heavy use of Fighters and retains some assets from the Yuzhaan Vong war.

- Technology:
- Xak Tharakus is generally Galactic Standard, with some key exceptions. Primarily their industries and economies are powered by Terraforming projects ongoing in the system and outside it. As a result, they are noted to have advanced biological knowledge and other related terraforming technologies. Due to their aversion to conflict, it could be said Avali weapons technology is moderately behind other races, and their knowledge is Hyperdrives is limited.
[ Include a history of the planet here. Be sure to cover the following information:
How was the planet discovered? How was the planet settled? When was it settled? Why was it settled? What major events specific to the planet helped shape its inhabitants to what they are today? If there is a Nexus, how did it come about and how did it influence the history of the planet?
Remember that these custom planets may be submitted to the map for the community to enjoy. The more background you set down, the more clearly others will be able to understand your view of your creation. ]
