POPULATION
  • Native Species: Avali (4~5%)
  • Immigrated Species: Satorian (93%), Other (2%)
  • Population: Sparse
  • Demographics:
Despite being the Homeworld to the Avali visitors would be forgiven to assume it is, in fact, the home of the Satorians with the species accounting for a significant share of the planet's population (around 80~85%), as a result, most visitors spend more time interacting with Satorians than they do Avali which make up around 10~12% of the population and the remaining 3~4% being other sentient species of the Galaxy.

The welcome individuals can expect depends upon their business on the world, while not outwardly Xenophobic visitors must remember local and off-planetary populations consider Xak Tharakus to be a sacred place that is usually only accessible to those invited. That said, it's not unheard of for outsiders to visit the planet without permission, and the scarce population sometimes makes enforcement difficult outside populated zones. If discovered, however, it is a reasonable assumption that Custodians would immediately attempt to intercept and encourage such individuals to leave or risk punishment under Avali Law and Customs (usually imprisonment or 'community service').

Those lucky enough to be invited are usually the owners or senior administrators of wealthy businesses, and with the change in Avali leadership and warming borders, several prominent corporations already hold small offices there. As a result, tourists are an extremely rare sight and the Avali while accommodating will remain cautious of any visitors.

[ Please describe the population assortment found on this planet. Is it primarily human inhabitants with only a small percentage of aliens? Or perhaps the other way around? Is this a place open to all kinds of races or is there a strong theme of racism and xenophobia? Specific race percentages are welcome but not required. ]
  • Primary Languages: [ Include any languages primarily spoken on this planet. Galactic Basic is an example of a language speaking across the Galaxy. ]
  • Culture: [ General overview of the inhabitant's behaviors. This should include information about daily life, society, arts, sports, religion. ]
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Corporatocracy
  • Affiliation: Avali Confederation
  • Wealth: Wealthy.
  • Stability: High - Avali keep strong checks in place for visitors, and troublemakers usually don't get very far. Most instability is born from Guild rivalries, but visitors are usually insulated and do not see them.
  • Freedom & Oppression:
Residents enjoy relative freedoms provided they do not contradict Avali social norms, for example, Avali usually expects females to have higher status.

The use of recreational drugs varies from place to place, some Guilds benefit from its trade and thus are lenient. Others less so have outlawed or proactively prohibited it.

Slavery isn't outlawed, but Avali society holds owners to account and it is heavily frowned upon to mistreat servants. As a result, slaves have some level of legal protection but if mistreated the best they might hope for is to be taken into the care of an Avali master as confiscated goods. This isn't always a bad thing, as all Avali have a vested interest in upskilling and improving the quality of life of their attendants.

In essence, the local population is defensive and will act to reinforce its rules providing you abide by those rules you won't have much of a problem. It should be noted that rules may change between population centres as these usually fall under the jurisdiction of different guilds or houses. The only real exception is with regards to Yuuzhan Vong which many of the older Avali still share a bitter hatred for.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military:
    • Xak Tharakus is considered a Holy World by the Excan Tlahtoloyan, and many of its population are vehemently opposed to armed conflict perceiving the cost in life and resources too great. Diplomatic avenues are more commonly preferred but there have been several occasions where the planet has fallen under siege. In the event such a conflict commanders should consider and be aware of the following;
      • Temple Cities - So-called Temple Cities are scattered across the planet's surface, these dense population centres which host many of the Avali political and economic elite. As a result, they are heavily defended usually equipped with shield generators although most lack the automated defence systems you might find on other worlds instead of favouring dedicated hardpoints for miltia holdouts and confusing city layouts designed to dissuade attackers and force them into prolonged sieges.
      • Planetary Defence Force - There are two parts to the Planetary Defence Force, a large Satorian population will often find itself drafted into a militia with many having received basic combat training at some stage of their lives. They are physically weak being reliant upon ranged weaponry preferring to fight from defensive positions or engage in guerilla tactics to win the day. Despite their skitterish appearance, their morale is very difficult to break while under an Avali's command.

The second element is the Custodians, these are male Avali who live upon the surface. They are small but elite core who favour melee combat and will often be attached to retinues of specially trained Satorian 'honour guards' who provide ranged support. On the battlefield, they function as officers and commanders, while female counterparts fulfil the roles of Generals. Custodians have very limited effectiveness in ranged combat but rarely expose themselves unless forced. If deployed the Avali are either desperate or have found an opportunity to expose and eliminate enemy leaders.

Generally speaking, the most successful assaults on the Avali homeworld have been lightning attacks, focusing on assassinating Avali and preventing Satorians from digging into fortified hardpoints. In such an event, Commanders should be prepared to take heavy losses or be forced into an unfavourable siege.
      • Guild Fleets - Xak Tharakus' greatest military power lies in its space assets, with several large fleets regularly in its orbit. These fleets double as homes for many male Avali and their servants. While primarily civilian vessels, most fleets retain a small group of military vessels capable of fielding capital weaponry. Avali tactics are unconventional being reliant upon numerous boarding actions with enemy ships, as such Avali ships are usually lightly armed but heavily armoured and shielded. Furthermore, Avali leadership are highly skilled naval experts, and many younger members are skilful pilots. The most notable of these is the Citalee Fleet which makes heavy use of Fighters and retains some assets from the Yuzhaan Vong war.
  • Technology:
    • Xak Tharakus is generally Galactic Standard, with some key exceptions. Primarily their industries and economies are powered by Terraforming projects ongoing in the system and outside it. As a result, they are noted to have advanced biological knowledge and other related terraforming technologies. Due to their aversion to conflict, it could be said Avali weapons technology is moderately behind other races, and their knowledge is Hyperdrives is limited.
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
[ Include a history of the planet here. Be sure to cover the following information:
How was the planet discovered? How was the planet settled? When was it settled? Why was it settled? What major events specific to the planet helped shape its inhabitants to what they are today? If there is a Nexus, how did it come about and how did it influence the history of the planet?

  • Primary Terrain: Oceanic (48%), Temperate Rainforest (23%), Mountain (14%), Plains (8%), Desert (7%)
  • Atmosphere: Type I
LOCATION INFORMATION
  • Capital City: Quetza
  • Planetary Features:
    • Microwave Power Transfer (MPT) Network - Large artifical dishes that allow for the transportation of power over long and short distances, this network functions as a planetary power grid providing power to major developments.
    • Temple Cities - Populations centres are sparse and there are very few minor settlements. What minor settlements exist are typically Satorian villages providing local workforce to major projects. Most of these cities focus on particular production chains and are built as communal nests.
    • Cozamalotl Defence Grid - A defence grid that surrouds the Ayauh Cozamalotl, it consists of layered shields and several fortifications that support orbital defence . It is one of the few militarised areas on the planet.
    • Holy World - Xak Tharakus is a holy world for the Satorian and Avali people.
    • Windshear - Windshears are extreme weather phenomenon, these tropical storms necessitate the use of wind shielding to adequately protect larger structures.
  • Major Locations:

Quetza.png
Quetza - Quetza is the Capital city of Xak Tharakus and home to the Excan Tlahtoloyan (Lit. Triple Alliance). The city has been governed by Quetzilla and the Citalee Guild for several centuries and is situated within a small valley near the Ayauh Cozamalotl (Lit. Sea of Water Jewels), making it an ideal resting place for young and mature Avali alike. Known locally as a Temple City, Quetza is a cultural powerhouse featuring countless museums and temples dedicated to the Avali past, present, and future.

Architecturally, the city is built around the Tzacualli. The Tzacualli is a pyramid structure that functions as a governmental palace housing Quetzilla, other influential Avali, their families, and senior civil servants. Constructed from specially treated materials the palace is built in such a way as to diffuse light, meaning it changes colour throughout the day and remains visible at night thanks to solar-powered lighting.

Surrounding it are gardens and districts divided by internal and external walls, city streets are chaotic and may initially appear disorganised but serve as functional choke points should the city come under siege.

unknown.png
Ayauh Cozamalotl(*) - Meaning Sea of Water Jewels, the Ayauh Cozamalotl is an inland sea that has been used by the Avali for millennia and serves as their favourite nesting grounds. The ocean is formed of a fault line that reaches depths of over 12,800m and is home to a wide variety of ocean life including mega-fauna known to prey upon the young Avali that hunt in its waters.

For the wider Galaxy, the Ayauh Cozamalotl is better known for a mixture of its biodiversity and the Cozamalotl Coral. What was initially believed to be a colony of corals was found to share DNA across the trench, indicating it to be a singular organism. This discovery made it one of the largest entities known in the Galaxy. These Corals extend far above the surface, creating a canopy that supports local avian and mammalian wildlife. Attempts to further study this creature have failed to owe to Avali xenophobia, especially around their nesting territory.
  • Force Nexus (Optional): Ayauh Cozamalotl (Minor) - The Cozamalotl Coral mega colony invigorates and supports local flora, providing a cradle for new life. This is also the source of Avali's connection to the Force as young Avali are hatched and raised here.

POPULATION
  • Native Species: Avali
  • Immigrated Species: Satorian
  • Population: Moderate
  • Demographics: Avali (6%), Satorian (92%), Other (2%)
  • Primary Languages: Avali and Galactic Basic
  • Culture:
  • Daily Life -
Satorian - Satorian daily life isn't all that different from the rest of the galaxy. They live in large family units which are sponsored and supported by their respective Avali sponsor. Due to religious indoctrination the Satorian population is subservient to the Avali and are more than willing to work for free. The quality of their lives has a direct correlation with their perceived value, and while dissidents exist their approach is usually peaceful.
  • Avali - Avali are rarely interacted with, when they are it's highly likely to be female. When not interacting with others, many seclude themselves to their nests where they adopt the roles of leadership. Many female Avali entertain themselves with cultural and scientific pursuits. The majority of Avali present on the home world are female
  • [ General overview of the inhabitant's behaviors. This should include information about daily life, society, arts, sports, religion. ]
GOVERNMENT & ECONOMY
  • Government: Corporate Monarchy
  • Affiliation: Excan Tlahtoloyan
  • Wealth: High, Avali hoard wealth and operate efficient trade networks capable of bypassing traditional hyperlane routes making them attractive couriers for certain parties.
  • Stability: High
  • Freedom & Oppression:
    • General - Xak Tharakus is isolationist, people including other Avali require express permission to land on the planet. The only exception to this rule are female Avali, Satorians and non-Avali populations who have pre-existing holdings on the world. Anyone caught in breach of this will usually be deported, if the individual is a male Avali then additional consquences may be applied.
    • Satorians - Satorians have some benefits, namely their right to enter and leave Xak Tharakus without consquence. However, they have ultimately become a subserviant species to the Avali, and as such their rights are limited. However, they are protected and mistreatment of a Satorian carries severe consquences and many Avali will go above and beyond in their care and education, although favourtism is quite extreme in this respect.
MILITARY & TECHNOLOGY
  • Military:
    • The Guild Fleets - Xak Tharakus is always orbited by at least one guild fleet, these fleets are primarily armoured support ships and civilian vessels attached to a Teocalli Class Void Cutter. The Teocalli are considered relics, secondary only to the holy world in their value. Losing these ships would be a blow to the species as a whole. As such, most Guild Fleets might surrender if it is threatened or captured. Teocalli are heavy in Point defence but do not usually feature capital weaponry. Instead, Avali warships are designed to facilitate boarding actions, with small elite breacher teams operating alongside Avali warriors to board enemy vessels. As a result, most ships are heavily armoured and/or manuovrable.
    • Planetary Defences - The area surrounding the Ayauh Cozamalotl is defended by military installations and orbital defence weapons. Outside this area defences are sparse.
    • Temple Cities - These cities are both as communal nests and hoards of wealth, culture and power. Occupied primarily by female Avali and their young. The cities themselves are built to be defensible and often built to accomodate only themselves and Satorians. As a result, attackers might encounter chasm-like moats, complex maze like streets and concealed pill boxes. Areas occupied primarily by Satorians might be small and cramped while large expansive streets focus attackers towards elite, male Avali warriors. Satorian defenders will quickly surrender if their Avali leadership is incapitated or captured.
  • Technology: All technology is Galatic Standard except as noted;
    • Biology [Advanced]
    • Medicine [Advanced]
    • Terraformers [Advanced]
HISTORICAL INFORMATION
Xak Tharakus is the homeworld of the Avali species, a superhabitable world the planet sustained life while plentiful resources enabled technological advancements. Tribal by nature, the Avali species grew, expanded and eventually came into conflict, they warred over resources, territory, and ideology. As technology advanced so did their means to annihilate one another. Inevitably their nesting grounds became such a site and was threatened with irrepairable damage, something that could potentially lead to their extinction as a species. This was their nesting grounds, the place where newborn Avali, over decades, grew and matured.

It was then that smaller tribes, sensing the danger began forming confederations and alliances. This ultimately led to the creation of the Excan Tlahtoloyan, or the Triple Alliance which went on to become the dominating political power. As the war concluded, extreme measures were taken to safeguard the home world. Militaries were disbanded, and replaced with a system of trade and commerce. However, with time this created a web of favours, agreements, partnerships, and contracts. The second, is known simply as the time of exile, when the territorial male Avali were exiled to the stars. Xak Tharakus was no longer their home, it was a right to be earned, these two events would define the species as a whole and the planet's future.

This led to the discovery of the Satorian species, and later their rediscovery and integration into Avali society. Satorians brought with them their capacity for innovation, finding unique solutions to complex problems. Satorian impact on the planet was profound, causing small towns to expand into large cities and influence Avali culture.

Xak Tharakus became a focal point again during the Clone Wars, when Trade Federation forces tried to strongarm the Avali into cooperating with their war effort against the republic. Up until this point, they had remained strictly neutral in the conflict. They were perceived as militarily weak due to their lack of ship mounted weapon systems and prodominantly civilian fleets. This ultimately proved to be true, however, Avali doctrine had no place for capital weaponry and they were ultimately able to defeat the Trade Federations vanguard. This triggered the planet to be partially militarised with defenses being erected around the Ayauh Cozamalotl and for female Avali to take a more proactive approach in designing defensive networks in their cities.

During the era of Sidious' Empire, Xak Tharakus would change again. Wishing to maintain their status of neutrality the Excan Tlahtoloyan submitted themselves to Imperial rule being placed under the control of a Moff who established offices on the Satorian homeworld. Instead of exerting their control militarily, like the Trade Federation had before, they ensured favourable and valuable contracts for pliable Avali males. This made them highly desirable partners and thus gave them significant influence on the world. These very same individuals surrendered the Satorians to the Imperials, giving them a vast resource of compliant labour.

When a whistleblower revealed the nature of these agreements, the Guild responsible was dissolved. It's leaders assasinated and lesser families either absorbed into the remaining guilds or lost. However, Xak Tharakus maintained these contracts, finding convientant excuses to not supply imperial forces. A popular one, was leaking information to Rebel Alliance cells and contacts and 'losing' the materials in pirate raids. Others, offered to smuggle cargo to rebel cells, providing a limited but highly effective smuggling network capable of bypassing imperial checkpoints.

This event led to the Excan Tlahtoloyan closing Xak Tharakus' borders to wider populations, effectively isolating the planet from anyone but their own. Generally, limited non-native populations already present on the world were granted permission to remain, this extended to their families however additional security checks were introduced.
