During the Incursion, Xaedrin found himself on Kwenn Station under the control of Lord Onyx. During this time, in an attempt to destroy the station he entered into a skirmish with Bradshaw Ku of the CSA. At the end of their battle, Xaedrin was thrown down a reactor shaft to land at the bottom, broken and shattered. His connection as a controlled one allowed for a great amount of healing to take place, but once all was settled and the hold on him was broken, he no longer had any control of his left hand. He opted to remove it and create an artificial hand in its place, using some of the materials he had gathered during the Incursion.
His hand, while heavier, can be used as a piece of armor. Due to the orichalcum plating, it has the ability to absorb and deflect both blaster bolts and lightsaber strikes, although prolonged exposure will melt the plating. The added use of recessed tartarine crystals as contact points scattered throughout the hand allow for him to absorb electrical attacks, offsetting the electrical weakness of the orichalcum.
The hand itself does not over a huge boost over a biological hand, specifically due to its weight offering a negative effect to Xaedrin's agility. However, in the right circumstances, the shock value of catching a blaster bolt or slapping aside a lightsaber can offer a major psychological advantage.
