The Prometheus is a chest mounted device that wrape behind the users back, leading to a shoulder mounted weapon.
The Chest: The chest contains microcircuitry that holds the same process as some of the highest level computers and machinery in the galaxy. It shares a link with Viktor's main computer that holds all of his documents as well as his blueprints for future bomechanical beasts. It also can project holograms of the material the Viktor is examining and is fully interactive.

It's not armour, it's more of a computer that has a secondary purpose as the beam cannon. I could separate the two into multiple tech threads if you wish.
