ADVANCED SYSTEMS
STRENGTHS
  • Hero Ship: The Buccaneer Class is designed to be sold to individual crews, as a way to beef up their projection of power in local systems. While Si Teh is quite picky about who they sell to, they make sure to spare no expense in customization, and comfort. Every ship includes a full compliment of amenities, including full bedrooms and a lounge..
  • Pack a Punch: While not designed for full line of battle fleet combat, the Buccaneer Class's four forward turbolasers do allow it the punch it needs to act as a strong member of a pirate fleet, or as part of the planetary defense fleet, while it's heavy armor and shields allow it to withstand a beating against ships up to twice it's size.
  • Home Away From Home: The Buccaneer can also double as a transport, for local crews and their pilots. It's wide layout allows it a twin set of ten bedrooms spaced through the ship, allowing both space for passengers alike, but also a full compliment of fighter pilots to connect to it's many docking ports.
WEAKNESSES

  • UpGun: While it's heavy guns do allow it to pucnh above it's weight, Si Tech only allows individual purchases of the ship, leading it to act often as a single vessel rather than as part of a larger fleet. Crews need to be careful not to punch too high above their weight with it.
  • "Extra Armor": While the Buccaneer class does have enough docking ports for 2 squadrons worth, they are only docking ports. Fighters are sitting ducks on them, and the ship itself has no real way of extending it's defenses to the fighters if they aren't launched fast enough.
DESCRIPTION
The CR class of Corvettes had long been a stable of the Rebel Alliance during the Galactic Civil War. With the Wild Space Rebellion taking quite a few pages from the rebel playbook, Si Tech sought it fit to revisit the design and re-engineer it for the modern day. Giving it a set of four turbolasers and a twin set of heavy ion cannons, the Buccaneer Class was the result.

While Si Tech long projected the idea that it wasn't in fact, an arms manufacturer, The Buccaneer Class became the lone exception. An easily modifiable, easily customizable, but rugged and heavy hitting corvette for fledgling rebel cells to operate out of, that Si Tech could sell on the cheap to promising upstart rebel movements, while the Wild Space Rebellion's government gave them letters of mark to do whatever they saw fit to fight against oppressive governments.
