Faction [WSR] Dawn of the Republic

Slinger stumbled out of the bar he was in and made his way into the street. As he was stumbling drunk he bumped into someone.

"Pardon me there friend." Slinger laughed. "Here let me offer you a drink to make up for it."
gets bumped into -- it wouldn't be the first time tonight since most of everywhere you go it's jam packed

Still, i just lost my cocktail and i'm slightly annoyed. But not for long. I like the view.

"No problem. Friend." -- lays it on a little thick

"Not that I'm complaining mind. I got to travel all over the galaxy helping folk. This seems as good a place as any to do that you see? Help people that is. Don't know what to make of all the high minded tactical politics but as long as I can help the little guy I'm happy. What of yourself friend what's brought you to Wild Space Republic and our little celebration here?"

"I've got a Bounty Hunter friend on some business for the Guild. High minded political stuff."

"Me...I'm here to get away from the garage and enjoy the perks of civilization for a bit."

That's when a scent hits you -- I didn't bother to get cleaned up beforehand so I smell of a combination of machine oil and Orbak patties

"Now what have I got here. I've got Zeltron whiskey, Nubian Honey Brandy, Hapan Wine, Corellian Beer, Serenno Jaegar, Kashyykian Vodka. What'll it be friend?"

"Thanks. I'll take that." -- grabs the most expensive looking one

Slinger raised an eyebrow at learning of the bounty hunter. Time was he'd be afraid the bounty hunter would be after him, but then most of the bounties on his head had been imperial ones. Ever since the collapse of the empires James had more or less felt like he'd had a clean slate. Though he supposed some of his activities with the Foundation could have put him on some radars.

Then again as a ranger now he was on the side of the law for a change. It made for a nice change he had to admit no more constantly looking over your shoulder for every stop and frisk officer who thought you looked dodgy. Not that he could blame them.

Slinger eyed his new friend who grabbed the Kashyyk vodka, made from the very trees that Kashyyk was famous for and hard to get after the Neo Crusaders hit the Wookiee homeworld so hard.

Still Slinger supressed the slight irritation he felt at one of his best drinks being gulped down by a stranger. He'd offered it after all. Besides drinks were for drinking. What was the point of an unlimited supply if you weren't going to use it?

"Names Slinger by the way. James 'Slinger' Antilles."

Normally James would be hesitant to introduce his full name like that, especially to someone with bounty hunter friends, but the way he figured it there were benefits to being on the right side of the law for once.

"Garage ay? I've been known to spin a spanner myself on occasion. Ships I'm on seem to be constantly breaking down and in need of repairs." Slinger laughed a guffaw of a laugh "Such is life on the rim ey? Never know what your next transport might be. Long as it stays in the skies when it supposed to I don't particularly mind how pretty it looks doing it."

"I didn't catch your name?"

DAWN OF THE REPUBLIC
A Wild Space Republic Story

CWU64Fj.png

Sor-Jan smiled, turning his eyes to the ongoing fireworks that crackled through the sky overhead. Part of him wished he knew more about the Republic so that he could do a better job of explaining it, but he tried to remember that he was a salvager, not a recruiter. The best way to show people on the frontier what the Wild Space Republic was about is to show them with actions, not textbook knowledge.

Besides, remembering Senator Se’Taav and Marshal Katarn’s names alone was pretty good for S.J. considering his out-of-sight, out-of-mind tendencies.

As Junpei Kenobi Junpei Kenobi and Aric Siasides Aric Siasides talked about Jedi artifacts, Sor began to wonder whether the temple on Sanctuary held anything that might be of interest to either of them. The Wardens tended not to be materialistic, but even they couldn’t avoid the practice of safeguarding certain relics from circulating throughout Wild Space. Some things, Sor-Jan rationalized, were not better left where they were found.

"I didn't catch your name?"

"Saija." takes a swig -- lights up a death stick because it makes it go down even better
a look of satisfaction, like I haven't had the good stuff in a while

Such is life on the rim ey?

"Indeed. If you're ever in the Smarteel system, come by for a tune up. I have a shop set up next to the Guild."

"And bring more of this."

My Father Will Hear of This

|:| Senator of Vlemoth Port, Heir of House Kuhlvult of Kuat |:|
"
Woe to those who challenge my birthright, and my right to power"

Senator Kuhlvult gave his fellow senator Kel Se'Taav Kel Se'Taav the smallest glance barely a shift of the eyes, but it was a gesture of practical acknowledgement nonetheless. The Bothan's questions had been pointed but not unfair and he himself would have uttered the same words though not wrapped in practiced diplomacy.

"My fellow Senator raises a relevant concern," Mollar said with a tone that was fairly measured despite his irritation at the Diarchy and Dark Empire battling each other over an important financial world though at least one faction had collapsed.

"And it would be wise of us not to dismiss it beneath titles or ceremony. Your forces, Commander have worn many hats and served many factions. Freelancers one cycle, officials and diplomats the next." His attention shifted briefly to Laphisto Laphisto before returning to the new speaker on the holoprojector.

"Chancellor Mecetti," he offered with a polite, almost clinical incline of the head towards Maldor Mecetti Maldor Mecetti . "You arrive at a moment when perception holds equal weight to fact. The Chief Military Executive has failed to provide an adequate case. Perhaps you may do better."

He paused then, letting that hang in the air a moment before continuing.

"How will you actually guarantee the independence of our Republic from the machanications of the Diarchy's expansion?"

Kuhlvult stepped slightly forward, the polished heel of his boot tapping once against the floor.

Diarchy - High Chancellor House Sancetti
KyL9K0v.png

There was a long pause as the transmission reached through many light-years to the capital of the Diarchy.

But soon enough, Maldor made his response.

"Greetings, Senator" Maldor said, "the Diarchy sees the worlds in its sphere as an archipelago. A common ocean, with bright spots of culture rising from the tides. Worlds within our scope are as sovereign as they can be. In fact, you will find that worlds are invited to shape the Diarchy more than the reverse. In the Grand Forum of the Chancellorate, you would be invited to contribute Chancellors of commerce, of administration, and of culture.

If you accept this invitation, you will have the opportunity to enrich the Diarchy by adding your voice to the chorus, and meanwhile benefit from our vast military forces. Laphisto is the equal of any man I've ever faced in battle. The fact that I have transitioned from his foe to his friend should speak well enough of his good nature while also demonstrating that the Diarchy is a place without recriminations, vengeance, corruption, control, or any of the darker aspects so often associated with Empire. Coming to live in the Diarchy was like exiting a cave and coming into the light.

But the short answer to your question is this: Our only machination is the prosperity of our members. You can best direct that particular machination by adding your voice to the others of the Forum, and taking your deserved place in this remarkable society."

He cleared his throat, then, and leaned forward slightly.

"Did you have specific concerns? Particular aspects upon which there is some... sensitivity?"
