The Missile has a heat seeking function that has been attuned to the heat given off by the average Lightsaber. As such, it has a quick tracking unit and doesn't take long to lock on.
Description: The WM-01, dubbed "Jedi Seeker", was made with a single intent in mind. To target and eliminate Jedi. Naturally however, Jedi weren't easily targeted as they ranged in varying size, shape, and internal temperature. But there was one thing that was always carried on a Jedi's person. A lightsaber. As almost all lightsabers burn around the same degree, the missile was made with a quick target function for the lightsaber heat. Naturally, this had potential to target allies, so it had to be hooked wirelessly with the DHK targeting fiction between ally and foe to prevent friendly fire.
Without a lightsaber heat source, the rocket is a normal straight firing wrist rocket. If one were to shut off a saber after the missile locks on, it will fly towards the last known location and detonate.
