With Parents Like These. . .

I've simply had enough of your brash decision making as of late. And because of that your mother and I have hired a personal tutor for you. Father paced around for a couple of seconds looking as if he was on the verge of saying something else but it laid just out of range for him. Kiyala didn't see why her father worried so much things hardly ever went wrong for her, she somewhat seen it as a fact of life; a certain trait of being young.

Oh yes now I remember, we have a trip coming up soon to Corellia to try and better relations between them. So you'll be here with him unless he'll agree to accompany you there. The guard already know that you can't leave so I suggest you be on your best behavior. Kiyala hated when he spoke to her like that, it made her blood rush and she could feel a darker storm on the horizon of being released. She backed away from it but only barely if only she knew how easily her she would have just ended her father.

However, what is power if not knowing when and how to use or so Father had always told her. Instead of acting out she composed herself like a true princess would and instead began running her nimble hands through her hair.

"Father I don't understand what you fright so much about. Really I'm better off on my own. It's no different then when you tell our men to fight for us."

Her Father looked at her as if she had said the stupidest few words ever spoke. And then he grew angry so quickly it caught Kiyala of guard. "Look at you! Don't you realize? Your a princess of Alderaan! Your life is worth more than all the men that fight for us! And because your my daughter it makes it worth more than anything and if you think I'm going to lose you to this kriffing galaxy you got the wrong Dad."

And on that note, Jedi Padawan Padak Arciso entered the room. He was dressed in his formal robes, lightsaber hanging from his belt. He shifted his robe so the lightsaber was hidden from view. He approached the King and Princess, and made a respectful bow. He then spoke, his voice calm and with a soothing tone. Unbeknownst to the other people in the room, he was trying to use the Force to calm the angry father.

"I was told to come here, Your Majesties. I am Padak Arciso, Jedi,at your service."

Kiyala as arrogant as ever dismissed her father out of her mind as she noticed and somewhat felt the Jedi's approach. She regarded the Jedi with a polite smile as a princess would before standing. She walked toward the Jedi taking his hand without hesitation before looking back at her Father.

"Well I'd love to stay and argue but my Jedi is here which means I'm free now. And with that she tugged on the Jedi's hand as if to tell him to come on before releasing it.

Kiyala exited the room and now that she felt free her hair that was pinned up she released the pin allowing her soft locks to fall where they may. She stepped into the skylight not too far from the room she was just in and welcomed the suns rays. She didn't understand her father, it was like he didn't understand her Epicanthix blood running through veins called her to action.

"Must be nice being a jedi, you get to see the galaxy and normally seen as a hero? You know what I think. I think one day I'm going to be real strong and everyone will love and respect me but not because I'm a princess but because of me. She said this to the Jedi but the way she spoke as if she was merely voicing her thoughts.

The Princess grabbed his hand, signalling, he assumed, that she wanted to leave the room, and she wanted him to follow. So Padak was led by the Princess to a hallway with a skylight, the bright Alderaanian sun shining through the glass. The Princess was voicing her thoughts, it seemed, speaking both to him and as if he weren't there. He pondered what she said, then answered her.

"Well, I like being a Jedi, but it isn't all fun and games. The training is somewhat rigorous, but we get free insurance at least." Padak joked, trying to lighten the mood. "Anyway, I am Padak Arciso. Pleased to make your acquaintance, Your Majesty."

Kiyala smiled at the man before her. She noted his words that the training was hard but that wasn't enough to deter her. Training under Master Bo had been back breaking but she made it through that. When he made his joke she offered him a laugh but a restrained one out of instinct as she was taught never to laugh too loudly or too long.

Kiyala shook her head when he called her. 'Masjesty' She looked at him fully for the first time and said "Call me Kiyala, I don't want to be called Your Majesty until I'm strong enough to protect my people like Royalty should." Kiyala though vastly irritated with the politics of it loved her people and her homeworld.

"Nice to meet you Padak. So what type of adventures were getting into today?" She said completely forgetting that she would have to learn the basics of the force first.

So she wanted him to call her by name. That was new to Padak, as he thought all monarchs wanted to be adressed as such. But, she had good reason for it, in his opinion. He smiled when she laughed at his joke, and was a bit surprised that she looked him in the eyes, like an equal. He always had though monarchs had contempt for anyone who wasn't royalty. This Princess was not what he expected her to be.

"All right, Your- er, Kiyala. First thing, I guess, is to learn to call on the Force. Do you have a place for meditation? A study perhaps?"

Kiyala had to think as normally she was very active, so it wasn't often that something like Meditation would call to her. However, she knew with Meditation came the thoughts of clarity and peace which incited an idea within her. Eyes growing wide in a kind of excitement, she merely grabbed the man's hand again.

"Come on Mr. I know the perfect place to start at. " Naturally she didn't mention that this place was normally for royal family only but if he was going to be around without suspicion it would probably be great for others to think that he is royal.

Barring the fact that both knew they were related their looks both hoisted a rather uncanny semblance to each other. Kiyala didn't realize that she may be making the Jedi uncomfortable by her excitable mood and by her keep grabbing his arm.

"You can just call me Padak, Kiyala."

Padak once again was lead by the arm, feeling a bit uncomfortable, but he called on the Force to calm himself a bit. As he was dragged through the palace, he looked at the grandeur and majesty of the place. Everything was beautiful. The views he caught from some of the windows were breathtaking. After a few moments, they arrived at what he assumed was their destination. This room was far more opulent than the others, and it was much quieter as well.

Reaching the room one would realize it expands out into a courtyard and more notably the waterfall with a swimming area before the water fall. She let go of Padak's hand and ran towards the waterfall, spinning before looking up at the sky she finally in a long time smiled. She hadn't yet the awareness to realize but though the adventures she go on allow her freedom and fun they did take a lot of focus and a lot of times only narrowly go out her way.

But she didn't have to worry about that, she had a jedi friend who was here to train and protect her till she was capable. Walking toward a rather large tree she sat down underneath it's shade leaning her back on the tree slightly. Today she wasn't wearing her typical dress but some jeans and a shirt as today was actually a holiday were most people were required to take off and not work.

"So how does this meditation thing work now? Will it make me strong like a jedi?" She asked curiously before leaning her head back as to look up at the sky above.

Padak was amazed at the scenery. It was all so beautiful. The cascade of the waterfall was a steady, soothing sound. Birdsong echoed and insects buzzed. He watched Kiyala slin around and noticed her smiling. When she asked him how medetation helps, he had to think for a second.

"In a way, it will. Meditation will help clear your mind and open you to the Force."

"Well I'm ready when you are."

Already sitting she awaited Padak to presumably sit so they could start the meditation, however as easily distracted she was found now looking at the waterfall. She didn't know what it was but her and water seemed to have akin spirits, she hummed a tone from so long ago she had forgotten the name of it but it still sounded beautiful to her.

"What's being a jedi like?" She had a lot of question actually she just knew enough about people to know that some didn't like a lot of questions.

"Well, we are peacekeepers, diplomats, defenders and scholars. We try to understand the Force, use it and shape it to help us."

Padak was sitting cross legged while he explained about his life at the temple, his training. Anything he could think of.He looked around, pointing things out and describing what they looked like in the Force.

"Noe, for meditation. Try to open your mind to the Force. Pretend you are a container full of water. Imagine emptying it and filling it with fresh clean water. The water you are being filled with is the Force."
