After Hardcase survived an encounter with a Sith on his travels, the young man discovered his ability to use the Force. Before he began his training, he set out to craft a pair of lightsabers that will serve him throughout his life. When he crafted the hilts for his weapons, he based them off the design used by Satele Shan's design from centuries past. The hilt is made from the light weight Songsteel which provides extra protection for his lightsabers. He chose to forgo a leather grip, instead choosing to keep the all metal design.
Each blade has two crystals each. He discovered his twin Kyber Crystals on the planet Ilum and once inserted into the hilts, they emit cold, black blades. He also utilizes a pair of Nextor crystals which provides volatile, yet more powerful blades that give them extra damage and cutting power. The hilts join together via an interlocking mechanism which turns the weapons into a double-bladed lightsaber, and it could even be used underwater! The hilts also feature an intricate design that was also based on Satele Shan's design.
