- Ghost Blade: Although Darth Caedes never bled his lightsaber, a process most Sith use in order to bind their kyber crystal to the will of the Dark Side, his saber's crystal has unarguably been altered by long term exposure to extreme Force energies, including the Dark Side (and even extra planar energies owing to the Netherworld of the Force, etc.). As a result, the weapons blade is no loner the brilliant emerald green it was when Caedes was a member of the Jedi Order. Rather, it appears as a ghostly or spectral, pale green blade, which is reported to feel sickening to behold, causing eyesore and headaches, particularly to observers who are more closely aligned with the Light Side of the Force. Those who cross blades with Caedes may additionally feel the deep tragedy and conflict inherent to the blade's history, and these feelings may further disrupt their connection to the Light Side of the Force.
- Overcharge: An Ion Energy Cell, Diatium Power Cell, Vibration Lensing, and other specialized components of this lightsaber make for an energy blade of surpassing strength and output. Whether in use against organic materials, droids and other synthetics, or even additional energy sources (from blaster energy or the blades of other lightsabers), this weapon has great cutting capacity, higher heat output thresholds, and greater repulsion properties when compared to standardized lightsabers.
- Changeling Blade: Equipped with a hilt-masking kit, this blade is able to be disguised as a myriad of alternative objects in order to bypass detection as a lightsaber. At times, the blade has been disguised as ceremonial decor, blaster weapons, code cylinders, walking staves, and a host of other false appearances.
- Amphibious Weapon: Owing to its Bifurcating Cyclical-Ignition Pulse technology, this blade is suitable for (prolonged) use underwater.
- It's A Trap: Equipped with trapped grip, this blade is rigged to emit a devastating electrical pulse to any unauthorized individual/entity attempting to activate the blade. This authorization process is kept mysterious by Darth Caedes, and involves a combination of genetic material, fingerprinting, and the logistical use of the lightsaber itself (which buttons are pressed, and how the blade is held, etc.).
- Unbroken Chains: Long ago, this very same blade belonged to the changeling Jedi Knight known as Nejaa Niynx. After his disappearance from the Order, and the subsequent rise of Darth Caedes, little was known about the whereabouts of the prodigal Knight. For many years, Caedes created for himself a new identity, painstakingly erasing any connection to Nejaa Niynx and his associated strengths/weaknesses, attempting to shroud himself in a protective layer of mysterious and ambiguity. In truth, this blade is the single most prominent link to Caedes' past. Republic files contain vital and unclassified information on the history, talents, and activities of the M.I.A. Jedi, yet Caedes has for some reason been unable to rid himself of the weapon; this despite its distinctive appearance and recognizably modified characteristics. That sentimental attachment is perhaps the single greatest hole in an attempted separation from the "Nejaa Niynx" of old, potentially betraying Caedes' species, facility with pyrokinesis (as well as other non-traditional Force talents), and his status as a once-Jedi-Consular. Furthermore, that the blade remains green is an obvious sign of Caedes' own internal conflict regarding alignment and his more personal Force related ideologies.
Once the weapon of the devoted Jedi Consular, Nejaa Niynx, this lightsaber has since become inseparable from the storied legacy of its current master, Darth Caedes. Its pale, ghost-like blade burns with an unsettling, sickly green hue, and leaves a prolonged afterimage in the air whenever it moves. Furthermore, the weapon carries an oppressive presence in the Force, a lingering psychic echo born from the many Jedi and innocents it has cut down since Caedes' fall to the Dark Side. Those who face it often describe an immediate sense of unease; its eerie glow accompanied by a subtle disturbance which can induce feelings of nausea, dizziness, or momentary lapses in concentration. In combat this effect proves dangerously disruptive, particularly against Force-sensitive opponents who draw upon the Light Side of the Force (especially techniques requiring mental stability and balance, such as meditative techniques, or various control-based Force talents, etc.). Like many lightsabers wielded by Force users across the galaxy, the weapon serves not merely as a tool for war but as an extension of its master's identity and connection to the Force, its malignant aura reflecting the transformation and inherent conflicts of the one who wields it.
Beyond its unsettling presence, the weapon is engineered for exceptional lethality in close combat. Its dual-phase design allows the blade to shift between multiple lengths, enabling sudden changes in reach which can be utilized in order to catch opponents off guard, or else control the flow of battle. The saber also operates at enhanced power settings, overcharging the blade so as to produce unusually forceful impacts. Even the parry of a simple attack can feel like deflecting a heavy blunt strike, as the energized blade pushes violently against opposing weapons and guards. This heightened output makes it particularly effective against other lightsabers and adjacent melee arms. Repeated clashes can even strain an opponent's weapon systems, potentially causing overheating, short-circuiting, or power instability as the Will-O'-Wisp's current overwhelms the more conventional energy matrices of standard lightsabers and vibro-weapons.
