Why Wait for Darwinism? [Fel Dominion of Kad V]

Ronin turned towards the source of the attack, his saber coming up to block the blast of another force lightening strike. The lightening's tendrils bit at the plasmatic blade of the saber as the Darth slowly walked out from the cover of the darkness. The Sith had a long black cloak and a hood that covered his face, making him appear more like an angel of death than a being. Gritting his teeth, struggling to keep the lightening from striking him, Ronin began to summon the force into a huge push. The force surged forth from Ronin's knuckles and tackled the Sith with the force of a train and knocked him back a few feet, allowing Ronin the chance to gain his balance.

"Your time ends here, Sith."

Zrash watched as Infinite Two fired a flash EMP crossbreed grenade from his launcher down the hall. Zrash ducked and covered his eyes as the blast went off, the sounds of confused Sith soon echoing down the hallway. Infinite wasted no time though. They drew swords and engaged the three Sith Trooper defender's in a harry close melee as Zrash fought with an Officer with his own blade. It wasn't long before all targets in the hallway were slotted and they were able to move forward.

"Jagged, Roan, report."

"Sir, we've secured three Sith HVT's, moving them to landing site now for extraction. Jagged out."

"Sir, we've lost Roan One and Three to a Sith Apprentice but managed to bring 'em down Agamarian style. Pushing toward Northern Labs. Roan out."

"Feth... We lost Commandos. Infinite Three, move to aid Roan. One and Two. You're on me."

The Commandos nodded and moved in their respective directions. Zrash lead the way down another corridor. On his way to the command center.

"No, scum, you and all of your traitorous followers will die here." The Darth hissed, his voice that of a demon before he readied a telekinetic push and aimed for it to knock Ronin back. Ronin, however, had readied himself and sent his own wave of telekinetic force against the opposing wave of energy that was rushing toward him. The opposing forces impacted each other and thus began the battle between the minds. Ronin once again gritted his teeth, veins in his head bulging as he pushed back with all the might he could muster.

The next engagement had already begin. The Sith had set up a strong defensive barrier in front of the entrance to the command center. They rained down fire on Zrash and his two men with a Heavy Repeating blaster that was mounted on the makeshift barricade via a tripod.

Red blots seared past them and took off chunks of the walling with ease. Zrash knew instinctively that armor wouldn't take a hit from that.

"Any grenades?"

"No sir, the one in the last hall was our last."

"Feth it all."

Zrash peaked his head around and scanned the firing position again, there were two Sith Officers and at least eight Storm Troopers no counting the one on the gun. There was minimal cover between them and the blaster position and it was at least a 30 yard dash with the gun hosing its deadly payload at them.

"We'll move in shifts, one at a time until we can get in close enough position to hit him with Two's flame thrower. I go first... Three... Two... One... Covering fire!"

At that moment Infinite unleashed their own (but smaller) barrage of fire on the turret station with little effect other than suppression. Zrash was able to make a mad dash and gain about five yards of ground before bolts skimmed around him once more. Oh such a fun day.

Ronin pushed harder and harder and the Darth did the same. Ronin could tell that this Darth did not have a strong suit in telekinesis or else he would have been smeared across the wall, kike he almost was with Orcus. Using this to his advantage, Ronin surged forth one giant push of energy and sent the Darth flying off of his feet and hitting the wall directly behind him. Not taking time to breath, Ronin raised his blade and charged forth.

More blaster fire rained down around him, until Infinite gave another suppressive blaster volley and two pushed up. They did this again and again, dividing the gunner's attention or forcing him to return fire temporarily. It felt like it was hours when they reached the target. Once so Two doused them red hot flame from his wrist-mounted projector. The two unarmored officer's gave shrill screams of dying agony as they were burned alive. The Troopers however were able to survive the short burst of heat and plasma. The one on the gun however was not able too survive Zrash's vibrosword to the neck when the Chiss closed the final distance. The other soldiers and Infinite two drawing blades in response.

As Ronin charged forward, the Sith Darth called upon his saber to deflect the bisecting blow. However, at the very last moment, Ronin stopped in his tracks and threw the blade with the force. The blade spun swiftly through the air and the Sith had no idea what hit him when the blade pierced through his chest. The Sith's eyes lit up and slowly dropped his saber to the ground. Ronin breathed heavily, slowly walking over to the Sith who eyed him in shock. Grabbing the hilt, Ronin looked at the Sith in his eyes with cold calculation before dragging the lightsaber up and out of the Sith through left lung and heart and out the shoulder.

In the melee that ensured in the hallway once more Zrash and his men quickly and efficiently slew the remainder of the Sith soldiers. Most were actually previously wounded men fighting only because they were trapped and had no where to go. The Chiss soon ordered the breach of the Command Center. It was a quick process. However, the Chiss was appalled at what lay inside; the room was littered with bodies of command staff and scientists. Most were slain by a lightsaber and some by blaster.

Leaning against a console in the center of the room was a death Sith Knight. She had obviously decided that she had no way to escape and that death by her own hand was a better option for there was a lightsaber burn in her chest where she ran herself through. All that filled the room now was the heavy oppression of death, the scents of ozone and cauterized flesh, and the sickly-sweet image of blood across the durasteel floor panelings.

"Infinite Two, slice their command systems. One take point at the door."

With that he learned the condition of his Legion. Phoenix suffered 167 men out of their 800 deployed, the Sith Garrison however had lost 676 with 21 captured. 7 of those 21 being Sith Scientists or Mechanics. Roan squad was entirely wiped out besides Roan Three who would be placed in Infinite as Four's replacement. After taking it all in Zrash went on the Fel BattleNET.

"This is General Zrash'toul'frusku; we have captured the research facility and captured some key Sith Staff. Most were executed by their commander before her suicide, however."

After being sure that the Darth was dead, Ronin quickly made his way over to Yasuo who was still unconscious on the ground. Putting a hand to his neck, Ronin could feel that there was still a pulse in his veins and that he had not been killed by the Darth. Before Ronin could send a communication through the BattleNet, a message from Zrash buzzed through and notified him that the research station had been captured.

"This is the Imperator, very well done Zrash. Send me a medical detachment from the Phoenix, Knight Yasou is in dire need of medical assistance. Also, inform all troops that the Sith capital ship has been captured."

"Very well Imperator. I'm detaching Jagged CELL and the 14th Phoenix Medical to your position."

Afterwords he relayed Ronin's information throughout the battleNET and to Phoenix more so in particular. There was a loud applause and an exhausted but victorious cheer that resounded. It was a long and heavy slog to free this planet from its oppressors but it was finally complete and now the path to bigger Sith worlds was open.

Things were moving faster then she had expected and now with a look around she couldn't believe it. The sith forces were being thrown back or even better they were being beaten down and exterminated. Sai had a look on her face as she moved running with the blaster and jumping to knee a sith in the face. Her face a mask of disdain but more then that she was moving to find her father and see that he was okay. Regardless of how he might see her he was family and you didn't abandon family... You waited until they were born and so it. Oh yeah she was totally going to have to make sure he paid in the end for that.

With the medical detachment on its way, Ronin took a moment to contact his Praetorian on the bridge, "This is the Imperator, what is the status of the Sith Fleet?" Ronin asked in his usual business tone to which he got a prompt and quick response.

"The Sith fleet is in full retreat, Kad V is ours, my liege."

[Even though the planet has been won, I'm going to continue posting because of the development that Voroll didn't get to have due to my slow posting]

The anger rising from the pair of cadets - who had slain two of their own and now taken to battling the remaining pair - was phenomenal. It was raw, pure, hatred. Why, he did not know and more-than-likely wouldn't be able to tell. But he knew that it helped them in their power and their speed. He not managed to withdraw the vibrosword hanging from the waist of his Royal Stormtrooper armour in time to help the first two casulties, but he certainly would the second; even if he only had very basic skills in swordplay.

The male, Gollado, had been the most ferocious and had initiated the attack. He was the main target, not the human who had a twi'lek accent. With a quick swipe the vibrosword slid against the scabbard that housed it and felt the first breath of air in a real battle. It was new to conflict, just as much as its handler was. The next moment, Voroll found himself racing towards Gollado, sword in hand and fear compressing his chest and stomach.

Before Voroll's adrenaline-fuelled sword arm swung to counter another blade, the two remaining cadets - both of whom had introduced themselves earlier as Zaal and Orona - ignited another silver lightsaber and unsheathed a vibrosword, respectively, and engaged the two who had turned their backs on the kinship the Imperial Knights shared. Zaal was much taller and broader than Voroll and stood higher than the kiffar, Gollado. Both males almost instinctively went for each other with a clash of lightsabers. Flurries of silver light left trails behind as each of them spun and counter-spun.

Voroll's vibrosword slid up, from his bottom left, to counter a blow from the right. The distinctive sound the lightsaber against the metal rang in his ears. The enemy did not give up, though: his lightsaber swung and lunged, from the right, towards the unprotected head of Voroll, whom had left his helmet on the floor at his previous location. With a spin of his body and a lift of the sword, the lightsaber stabbed the thin air where he was stood. Now he had positioned his sword in the way of the blade and his back almost directly in front of Gollado. The kiffar could have gained an advantage if it weren't for Voroll's unsure footing; with a stumble, the both of them fell to the floor backwards.

Even though the battle was in its infancy, the feeling of it and rush of excitement had blinded Voroll to the emotions of those around him. He was beginning to feel for the first time what peace was like. Inner-peace. That which many try to discover through meditation and self-discovery. It was such an odd thing to know, even though it had yet to occur to the Esselian - who had for so long failed to find anything extraordinary about himself.

Gollado was ripped off Voroll's body by Zaal, whose physical strength outshone a large majority of the Cadets in the Order of Imperial Knights, before the hulking brute of a Cadet threw the kiffar around and to the floor away from him. Gollado skidded across the ground as he landed and rolled to a stop, his lightsaber flew from his grasp and disignited shortly after, giving Zaal the chance to make his move.

Voroll managed to heave himself from the floor, his vibrosword fresh in a renewed grasp of its hilt. He rushed down to the aid of Zaal, despite his clear ability to defend himself and being more-than-likely able take out of the heretic by himself. Before the traitorous kiffar could regain his footing, Voroll's sword swung high into the air (after he had sprinted past the heavier Zaal) before being pushed down to the floor, in particular where the head of the kiffar rested. Unfortunately for the eager Cadet, the head, along with its body, rolled out of the way, leaving the sword to crash and stick into the soil.
It was at that moment the thudding feet of the heavier Cadet behind Voroll pounded past with a humming. The kiffar sunk out of the way of a cleave that would have decapitated him. The brute grunted, rather loudly, and spun his body around completely to give him a swing at the body of the unarmed kiffar. Lightsaber scraped against metal and burnt through it, sizzling the soft flesh underneath. Gollado fell backwards, clutching at the diagonal wound on his chest which now steamed. He writhed in pain and Voroll began to feel it again.

From the distance he was at, after having pulled his vibrosword from the dirt, he could clearly see the expression on Gollado's face as Zaal's silver lightsaber was brought through his chest. Instantly Voroll clutched his own chest, as much as he could when wearing armour. His heart began to pound and beads of sweat formed at the base of his hair-line. The pain of the lightsaber not only affected Gollado, but affected the empath as well. It was only a second or two, but the amount of emotions that ran through the mind of the dying traitor made Voroll wonder if all death was like that. It was lonely, filled with self-loathing and grief. Sadness and pain. He felt no joy, no happiness, no relief until everything stopped.

His sight grew darker around the edges, as if being framed by something he could not make out. His head would not move, as much as he wanted it to. His mouth would not open and his fingers would not release the hilt of the sword. The last thing Voroll Astaar saw of Kad V was the sky moving down, engulfing everything. He was falling, despite his ignorance to this. He could not feel it, nor hear it, no smell it any more. Not until he awoke in a medical bed.
