Why is it that I always seem to fight.

I had been a ghost for a while now. I changed myself. Hair, I took out the green contacts and put in brown ones. and I carried everything that I needed with me. Walking past a guard on the training ground of the Jedi Temple on Coruscant. I watched other students as they fought with one another. Dressed in clothes that could have passed as a personal set of Jedi garb. I looked to fit the part.

This help came from my time as an undercover agent of the Galactic Empire. Now that they were no longer there, and I had left them with only two things that had come from them, I had become a fairly well hidden person.

It has been about a year since I left. And about two since I was taken out of that damned laboratory. I took no pain from thinking back on my life, my known life.

I walked to the edge of the field. A lone person with a simple bookbag over my shoulder, with my black wings folded up, They were hidden from sight. I could feel them try to break out, wanting to fly and soar the skies. I did not let them. Instead I watched as some padawans of the Jedi order were being taught a lesson.

Drake was meditating. Or trying to at least. Breath, exhale. Breathe, exhale. That was his mantra. Perhaps the training grounds wasn't the best place to practice meditating, but, he was training, so it made sense. To him. His connection to the Force wasn't as strong as he'd liked it to be that day. Jumping in and out. That's when he felt a new presence enter the training ground. Not that he could count the people there with his eyes closed, but something about this one. Something was different about this one, he didn't know what. He opened his eyes, curiosity getting the better of the young Jedi Padawan. He noticed a lone figure standing in the training grounds. Drake stared at him for a little bit, but let it go, and went back to meditating. Hopefully the person hadn't seen him staring.

Watchful eyes took note of everything that was happening. I looked to see a young man as he sat. Meditating maybe, or he had fallen asleep and was left there. Looking closer I could see that his breathing was limited and monitored. he controlled his breathing, trying to calm himself down. Easily I could tell from ihs movements that something had disturbed him.

His head then turned towards me.

Before I could think about why the man was looking at me. I was already reaching to my back. Resting just inside my bookbag was my vibrosword. The curved blade ready for its use against anything. Remembering to when I had used it against the man that had kept me in his little lab. I had shoved it into his chest and into the wall. Smiling as I had taken my life back from him.

Only a year later did I realize that it was a waste of my time to fight him. Now I was here looking at this man as he tried to coverup that he had looked at me. This was maybe not the first time he looked at me. Deciding to act now, I walked over to him.

I knelt down in front of him. I could bet that he knew I was in front of him. speaking in a soft voice for a man of my size. "Is there something interesting about me?"

Drake felt the man walking towards him. So he had seen me, Drake thought. He kept his eyes closed until the man got close to him. Drake found it hard to tell whether this man had good intentions or not. Drake opened his eyes. "No. Well, yes...I've never seen you here before. Your presence just, surprised me...." Drake arched an eyebrow at the man, and stood. One hand naturally moved to the hilt of his lightsaber. Not in a menacing way, just to comfort him. "What's your name?" Drake put out his free hand to shake. "I'm Drake."

I shook my head as the young man asked for my name. he had stated that he had never seen me before. Good. that meant that nobody else had really seen me either. "For an apprentice to the Jedi, you are easily willing to give out your name." Standing up, I started to walk away backwards from him. "I am not, unless you have earned to know my name."

Some would just nod their head and move on. others really wanted to know my name, and would prove they're worthy to hear my name. I wondered what this young man, Drake, would try to do. I had already seen him grab his lightsaber hilt that was on his belt. I hated those things. Little cylinders that emitted plasma that could cut through anything. Ugh.

Drake got the message pretty clearly. He'd have to spar for the name. He tried to probe around with the Force to tell what the intentions of this man were, but he wasn't skilled enough. He shrugged. What was the worst that could happen? Drake unclipped his training saber from his belt. "A Jedi Padawan isn't afraid to let his identity be known." Drake let a cocky smile spread across his face. It may not be the Jedi way to do so, but his past as a cocky smuggler often got the better of him. "I assumed this is what 'earning your name' means?"

The young man smiled as he drew his training saber. I could tell that he was yearning for a little spar with someone. I smiled as well when he asked if this was the meaning of earning my name. I drew my own vibrosword. labeled as "White Lightning" I set my bag down onto the ground. and reached under my shirt to pull up a veil to cover my mouth. Purple in color. I spoke back.

"Looks like this one is a smart one." with my weapon hanging almost limply in my hand resting the tip on the ground. "Lets see what the Jedi have taught you so far."

Drake had made sure to keep his connection to the Force when he stood up. It was still cutting in and out, but Drake was fairly confident it would be enough to fight. Drake gave two hints to his attack, a smile, and a shift of his foot. As he swung upward, he ignited his training saber. It would cut, but if it hit, it would leave bruises. Drake followed the upward swing with a twist, and swung again at @[member="Dove"] 's right leg. Drake hoped the basic attack would work.

One thing that the Galactic Empire had taught me, is to read people and their movements. Drake's smile widened and his foot shifted before his arm moved to attack me. with a simple sidestep the uppercut missed me. Flipping my wrist, my vibrosword came into contact with his saber. instead of blocking it entirely, I merely smacked it out of the path to cut at my leg. The saber was then headed towards the ground as I lashed out my left hand in a force push. My shoulder was eye level with the young man's head, aiming to just push him back. not cause to much harm.

Drake sent the Force coursing through his leg muscles, helping to strengthen them. He slid as the man's Force push shoved him back a few feet. Drake angled his body into it to help keep some balance. So this man was a Force sensitive. That was good to know. Drake stood up straight again, and raised his saber to protect from any slashes at him. He was far enough away from the man now, he should have ample time to see an attack coming.

I smiled as he was pushed back. his saber up to protect against any attack that had come after, but I had not gone after him. standing there I waited for the young man to attack again. if all he was full of was simple attacks, then there was no way that he would earn the right to hear my name. "Gotta do more than that."

@[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake tilted his head. Alright, he though, I will. Drake moved forward, still pushing the Force into his leg muscles, accelerating his speed. He swung at the man's vibrio blade, trying to knock it away. Then he came in with a kick at the man's chest with his left leg. Drake may have only been a Padawan, but he still had some tricks up his sleeves.

@[member="Dove"]

The man came at me with great speed. I could see it as another man had once did to me in the past. Only this time, the young man was slightly slower and easier to keep and eye on than the Sith that I had fought. With the saber coming to slash at my vibrosword, I could tell that he was trying to take it away from me.

With a simple movement of my wrist the saber moved past the vibrosword without touching it. and I was surprised as he kicked me in the chest. I was hit back and I just shook my head. looks like he had more to him than just a lightsaber and the force. Moving swiftly my vibro sword came from the right and then to the left, followed by a punch with my right hand.

@[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake blocked the swing at his right. The Force told him to block to the left, and he did. Drake smiled as he felt the resounding sound from the two blades hitting. The smiled was quickly wiped from his face, as a fist hit him in the side of his face. He danced away, bringing a hand up to his face. As soon as he was a safe distance away, he danced back it. His blade slicing down at the man's left shoulder, them coming back over his head, and swinging at @[member="Dove"] 's right should.

I could feel good as my fist made a solid hit with his face. only my smile changed to that of concentration as he swung at me again. Sidestepping to the right, and then twisting my body, I could feel the heat of the plasma blade as it swung a mere hairs length away from my nose. and as the saber was passing my chest and waist, I stabbed out with my sword three times in rapid occurrence. followed by a swipe from his right shoulder to his left hipbone. just enough to possibly scratch him with the tip of my blade, but not harm him worse than that.

@[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake felt the vibroblade hit him once, and he spun away to his left, dodging the next two jabs. As he spin, the Force once again compelled him to raise his blade behind himself, and he blocked the swipe. Drake stepped back, grinning. "That was awesome." He paused, and raised the blade up defensively. "So, did I earn that name yet."

@[member="Dove"]

I smiled as the man blocked the attacks that I had sent his way. For an apprentice at his age with only a training saber, he was rather good. Nodding my head, I walked over to him with my sword flipped around in a reversed grip to show that I was not attacking him. i leaned over to whisper in his ear my name, it was a secret, and one that I wanted to hold dearly. "Dove, my name is Dove." I leaned back and offered him a handshake "Please do not utter it in front of people, I rather like to keep in the shadows until necessary."

@[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake smiled, and took the handshake. "Nice to meet you, @[member="Dove"] ." He made sure to lower his voice when saying the name. "You're obviously connected to the Force, are you thinking of joining the Jedi." Drake arched an eyebrow. For all he knew, Dove was a Jedi he'd never met before. Drake unignited his blade, and reclipped it to his belt. It was a fun spar, and Drake had learned even more to trust in the Force while fighting.

I smiled as he still said my name out loud. Even with that, he probably didn't know why I called myself that. I let my sword be put up into it's sheath in the bag. I had picked it up and walked back over to him as he asked about my wanting to join the Jedi. Really I shrugged my shoulders. "I thought about it, just never got around to being accepted by a Master."

I looked around and shook my head, "and I don't really like the concept of lightsabers."

@[member="Drake Blackwood"]

Drake half smiled. Hopefully the man he just sparred with wasn't a Sith. "Ah...well, I'm sure some master would be willing to take you." The Padawan bowed slightly. "Now, if you'll excuse me, I've got to get back to my training." Drake started to walk backwards, until he was back to where he was meditating. There, he sat down, closing his eyes. After his fight, he was very drained, and it took him a little while to reconnect with the Force. Now, his connection was even weaker....
