Why go back?

When Kay asked if Adron wanted to leave, he shook his head. “No. I don't want to leave, at all. But the Emperor is likely to call for my arrest. If he does, that could mean tension for Commenor.” He explained to the Queen. Taking his cup of tea into his hands, he would shrug his shoulders. “I don't know what I'm going to do yet. I just know I cannot stay under the Empire.” He said.

Leaning back into the chair, Adron took a moment of pause before clearing his throat. “I suppose it goes without saying I need you to keep this to yourself.” He said, offering a slight smile. “I think the Imperial Guard will defect with me as well, so… We will see.”

When Kay said Adron would always be welcomed, he paused before clearing his throat. “Kay, you have been kind to me since I have been with Commenor. If you took me in… It could mean war.” He said, clasping his hands together in front of him.

"We are allied with the Empire. We aren't someone that they should be worried about. So I don't see the problem...It's not as though we're the Silvers or the Republic..." Kay looked to [member="Adron Malvern"] then, giving a tiny smirk. Though really she was trying to think of some positive spin in this.

"Veiere told me that you were in his Dark Jedi Order, and that you were slated to be his advisor. And now he's glad that you are with me to help me, and quite frankly I am too." Loyalty was always rewarded with her.

Kay straightened herself up in her chair as he spoke of the possibility of war coming to Commenor. Her gaze was unwavering as she looked to him. "Then let them try. They'd be breaking our treaties, losing their trade routes as well as gaining blockades. We have other allies that would join our forces to beat the Empire back. You're worth the risk." Of course she'd opt for some kind of diplomacy route first. But that didn't mean that she wouldn't fight.

Adron was a bit surprised by Kay's loyalty to him. So much so that for the first time in some time he was left speechless. He smirked a bit, but that soon turned into a bit of a chuckle. Almost beside himself, Adron had fallen into a light hearted laughter. Not something many people heard from him these days, if ever. Finally the laughter died down, as he returned to a calming grin. "My Queen. As your advisor....I must say this is a damned foolish decision." He said, before his amused town died down into a more serious one. "As a friend...Thank you." He said, inclining his head to her respectfully.

The High Moff was not a fool. He knew he would not survive long outside of Commenor's protection. The Empire aside, he had made enemies all over the galaxy. Without the backing of a government, they would be eager to collect on his life.

"It was intended that I stand by your husband." He admitted. "By now you understand the way I work so you shouldn't need any explanation as to why I didn't tell you."

"I hate debts, Terribly so, actually. But it seems I have gained one here. I cannot easily promise anything, however I do promise that I will always do whatever is in my power to preserve Commenor and keep your people safe. You have my word." He promised, another thing that was not common for the man.

Kay raised a brow slightly as [member="Adron Malvern"] began to laugh. Did he not believe her? Or was he just happy with her support. She smirked a little as he told her that it was a foolish idea. That could be so. But some of the best ideas started out that way. The CSA was an example of that. People said that it could never work, that it could never last. But look at it now. The CSA was thriving while others struggled against eachother and themselves.

She bowed her head to him as he thanked her, now relaxing her posture as she took another sip of her tea. And it was true, she knew Adron well enough to understand why he had kept things from her. Kay kept things from him too, so she didn't feel bad at him for it.

"I owe a debt to you. You saved my life and have proved yourself to being a great asset. So of course we'll help you."
