Who The Hell Are You Again?

Nick finished up his business on Dantooine.... The Sith Knight had been sent out to deal with a few rogue Force Users who had been causing the Empire grief... Trying to blend in, pretend to be Sith... And stab their forces in the back.

Nick had remembered walking into their camp, as a trojan horse of sorts... He had given them a smile and pretended he still thought they were Sith... But out of the corner of his eye, he could see sneers and evil grins on their faces... They were too obvious, and they really thought they had them fooled...

And then Nick had drawn his lightsaber. The duel bladed saber had struck fear in the hearts of the mooks as Nick had cut them down, one by one. None of them stood a chance against a real Sith Knight straight up, and Nick had mercilessly cut them down, leaving their severed heads and bodies at their camp to rot as a message for whoever may cross the Sith again.

Nick began the trek back to civilization... He figured he'd do some travelling again while he waited for another call... Just as he once had as a Bounty Hunter... A life long behind him. It felt like a long time since he had forsaken the hunter's call, joined the Sith, and even longer still since he had escaped from the dreadship of Circe Sevan, who he still blamed for the death of the one woman who meant a thing in this world to him... His cold blue eyes shined under his hood as he reminiscenced the memory...

Dantooine... What could be said of a world covered in swaying savannahs, rolling seas and towering mountain ranges? Well for one, it housed some of the ugliest natives Saeldar had ever seen where humanoids were concerned, and a colourful history. The ruins of many once-great Temples lay within its fields of long grass, toppled through time, or some great battle, a page from a history book blown across the tundra. But that was not why she was here.

Saeldar had spent three days roaming Dantooine thus far, even going so far as to explore one of the deep-filled crystal caves, steeped in Dantari crystals. Not that she required such Force-boosting crystals, she already had one which was significantly greater than the Dantooine branch... Although perhaps that, too, should go. One less thing from the past. Yes... Saeldar had come so far, it would be a waste to still retain something of the past. Even the lightsaber must go, but that would wait until she had the right components, and the time, to forge a new one.

The knowledge itself had never left her, not since the day she and Vazela spent hours forging and then sparring. All the more reason to cast it aside. R1 was a byproduct of the past... But she felt that she could not part with him as easily. I could modify his data-core, rename him... The droid had once been her last hope of salvation against unknown, unseen threats.

Saeldar diverted herself so that she was waylined towards the nearest cave, which she knew contained the crystals. One day she might increase the potency of the crystal, should she ever sink into the depth of Alchemy that she desired. Her attire was a stark contrast to her pale skin, which alongside her dark hair could have given her the ghostly appearance of an Echani. Better that than an Umbaran. Black robes billowed, beneath which was a neatly-pressed uniform of sorts, almost, but not quite, military like in fashion.

Still regarded as a child in the eyes of the Empire, Saeldar was now fourteen, she had grown considerably yet she was largely undersized for her age. Her health had always been a concern, and this was merely a by-product. Not that it mattered, she did not require strength the way so many others did. For Saeldar that was not the meaning of power.

Nick took a breath as he traversed the savannahs and rolling hills without care...

Something crossed his mind as he looked out at the Dantooine sky.... Why did he do this? What was his purpose? Eternal servitude to the Sith? Was it a lust for power? Or did he have a purpose? Was there a goal in mind for him, besides becoming the most powerful Sith that ever lived?

He felt as if there was some kind of purpose to his life now... But he couldn't deduce it.. Ever since Circe had kidnapped him and Frida and brought them aboard her ship, his only thought was one thing...

Get out.

Frida had died, likely at Circe's hands... Nick could remember the heartbreak that had overflowed him as he realized, no... He could feel in the Force... That she was no longer with them...

It was as if their night before had brought some kind of bond between them... He remembered, for just that one night being able to sense Frida and every inch of her being... And he knew she could sense his... They had come together because of their mutual disdain for their Master, and their will to succeed as Sith and get away from that witch...

... And then the next day, all he felt in his being where Frida had been... There was an empty void. Nothing. Devoid of the Force... She was gone, and he knew it. He hated Circe because he knew she had something to do with it... Something had snapped in Nick that day... Her loss had driven him to points of insanity he never thought possible... And it changed the man. Gone was the naive young man who had been drafted into the Sith out of chance... Replaced was a dark assassin who cared nothing for human life.... And Circe took advantage of that, using him as her personal assassin...

And then he struggled, dealing with all her trials, with the one goal...

Get out...

And then the Sith found him when he took the Huk flagship singlehandedly... Circe had abandoned him there, flying her ship off with another apprentice and leaving Nick on the flagship. The Sith had found him, and he had been officially made a Sith Knight for his services...

And then Circe had come, taken credit, and taken him back to her ship.

And that's when his plan finally came to fruition, the wish they both had had...

Circe had attempted to bring Nick to HER planet, the spa and massage parlor on a corrupt planet that Circe was the overlord of... And Nick didn't trust it one bit. He had tricked her into thinking he had agreed, only to slip out once she had finally unlocked the escape pods as they passed Elom, and taking The Destruction Fox far away from his former Master for as long as he could...

He wondered then, what would he do now? He had accomplished what he had set out to do... What him and Frida had wanted...

And then he got the call.

The Sith were in constant contact with him now, as an individual entity... And that gave him, even if just a little bit, a bit of purpose of what to do now...

He smiled a bit as he mused... Civilization came into sight... For now, at least... He would play ball with the Sith. Because it gave him purpose...

This was his life now... This was the life of the final surviving member of the DragonsFlame Family...

The mouth of the cave drifted past her as darkness sought to encompass her, only it failed and her eyes fought back, piercing the dark and permitting her to see. Music sprang to mind when the crystals came into view, a ghostly, ethereal chime which rang alongside the wind which was billowing in from her back. The first set of crystals would not do, however. They were not worthy, they did not call out to her, instead their persistent song whistled. It fuelled an internal passion within her... One which would lead in the destruction of the music. Saeldar hated it.

Deeper she ventured, to the very bowels of the cave, until she was certain that she was many feet underground, heading to the centre of the planet's core. Here the Song of the Crystals rang louder, and it was all Saeldar could do to resist smashing them into oblivion. That was not her purpose here. It was important that she stuck to whatever plans she made, she needed order, even if it was chaotic, if she had any hope of achieving what she sought. Outright anarchy of one's plans was discouraged, that was how mistakes were made...

And finally she heard it, a specific hum beneath the music, far more sombre than its brethren the crystal called out to her, drawing her closer. Saeldar felt a certain ecstasy spread through every fibre of her being, causing an involuntary convulsion, a shudder which travelled down her spine. Bliss. Breathing in deeply she cherished the moment, arching backwards ever so slightly. Her back cracked, but she felt renewed, any fatigue she had been carrying as a burden was cast aside. It was then that Saeldar realised she had to have the crystal.

Her pace picked up, and soon she found herself in a small antechamber, off to one side. Had there not been the hum luring her on she doubted she would have noticed it. The moment she laid her eyes on it she knew it was hers, glowing like the last embers of a fire on a pitch-black night. Saeldar did all that she could, given the situation... She reached out her left hand, and tugged at the air. With a distinct crack the orange crystal loosed itself from the rock, and floated directly to her hand. The moment it touched her she felt another impulsive shudder run through her body, a grin working its way upon her lips.

"Perfection"

Nick happened to pass by a unique crystal cave as he neared civilization... And a rather different aura radiated from it that got his attention.

Nick turned his head curiously to look at the cave.... He had no use for a crystal cave, he was fine with the lightsaber he had... But... Something different was in there... Was it a Jedi? Maybe an intruder looking to ambush him? Or was it something else...

Whatever it was, the aura tempted Nick to start walking toward the crystal cave out of curiosity...

@[member="Saeldar"]

Her senses began to tingle the moment she pocketed the crystal, which needed to be refined before it could take the place of the violet crystal presently within her curved lightsaber. Something was close by, and more so than that it was something dangerous. Instinctively she slipped her curved hilt down into her grasp, and turned on her heels... To find one of the most disgusting bug-like creatures she had ever seen waiting for her. No... There were two of them, three... A whole host. There wasn't time to think dismally on the situation, she acted quickly, instinctively.

I am on Dantooine, that makes these... Kinrath. There had been a time when she had dealt with their natural poisons, which lined their frontal appendage, it had been one of those she had become desensitized to... To a point. Resistance did not mean she was completely safe, and if they jabbed her with enough of the poison she would indefinitely feel the side effects. I could detoxify... But she knew that, depending on how much poison entered her system, she may not have the time to fight them off and remove the poisons.

One of the creatures were considerably larger than the rest, and she took it for the Matriarch. This wasn't good, it could bring the whole hive running. Igniting the violet blade out she stepped back, and lowered herself down, brandishing the lightsaber. Settling one hand to the ground she focused, waiting for the opportune time... And when they neared her she sent out a blast through the Force, causing a wave-like shock to knock them back. But it wouldn't buy her much time, their disorientation would not last. Instead she lunged forwards, trying to cut through the thick outershell of the creatures.

Nick kept moving, speeding up as he felt movement... He began to hear fighting, and a burst of the Force.

He could see it as he came near. Kinrath. And lots of them. And their Matriarch. They were fighting what seemed to be a fellow Force User, though her allegiance was unknown.

Regardless, these things could be a problem later... So Nick drew his duel bladed lightsaber, the dark red blade glowing in the dark of the caves.

@Saeldar

Saeldar noted the approach of another, from his presence she gauged a fellow Sith, but there was more to it than this, she knew him... Narrowing her eyes she was surprised to find @[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"] stood there, lightsaber ignited and prepared for battle...

... But the question was, with who?

She did not allow her attention to be split for too long, however, the Kinrath were regaining their balance. Saeldar had to act now.

Ripping the blade from the first Kinrath who's shell she'd managed to penetrate, the Sith Apprentice span out of their direction and entered her duellist's stance, preparing to parry off their poisonous appendages should they try to pierce her... And hopefully she could remove them. It would make her one step closer to getting out of this blasted cave.

With a slight grunt she broke form, there were too many of the creatures for Makashi to be of use. Instead she fell back on her Shii-Cho training. It was basic, clumsy, and yet perfect for this situation. Cho Mok was close enough to a Sun Djem in such a situation, that it made sense to her anyway. Rather than her usual lunges and parries, she began to slash, her actions precise enough to cleave off the closest Kinrath's poison-sting, so to speak. But there were still more, and they were heading closer to her and the Sith Knight.

The Sith Knight allowed himself a moment to gauge the situation. Several kinrath, their Matriarch.. And a young woman. Hoping the woman wouldn't turn around and attack him, the Sith Knight immediately stabbed the front side of his saber into the back of the head of one of the Kinrath as they focused on the Apprentice. It fell down and died, but it also attracted the attention of it's fellow Kinrath.

Nick's decision was clear, and the Kinrath's attention became split between the Knight and the Apprentice. Nick grinned as he waited for his time to strike....

@[member="Saeldar"]

@[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"] gave her just the break she needed, heads turning to the sound of one of their brethren fallen, they were easy targets. The Apprentice slipped forwards and slashed out at the poisoned stings of the creatures, hearing them screech as part of their bodies were savagely removed. Without their stings, however, they became useless, little more than a nuisance.

It was then that she made up her mind. She was going to kill the Matriarch. It was considerably larger, and a slightly different colour, to the rest... And well protected by several others. With a grunt she performed a sweep, aimed at several of the Kinrath and their appendages. Her lightsaber arced in a half circle, the sudden action, the flash which came with it, sending them staggering away, with missing stingers.

And now for the Matriarch... She swore that if the Sith took her kill, she would not hold back her aggression... The Matriarch was hers, and when Saeldar had her mind set on something, little could sway her. Ordered chaos.

Nick watched as the Kinrath scattered, leaving just the Matriarch... He considered killing it, but seeing the look on @[member="Saeldar"]'s face... He gave a little smirk.

He stood back, and sat down on one of the rocks in the cave, propping his feet up on another rock with his hands behind his head as his saber deactivated. He was content to watch since she was so keen on killing the Matriarch alone.

@[member="Saeldar"]

Gritting her teeth the girl stepped closer to the Matriarch. Kill this, and end the cave-dwelling race in the near-future. But that wasn't the reason why. Saeldar had been enraged long before the Kinrath swarmed into the small dwelling.

Lashing through the air with the lightsaber she did more than simply remove it's sting, she slashed up through its outershell, dissecting it in half lengthways, the perfect Sai Tok. The creature shrieked noisily, before its vocal chords, or the equivalent, were slashed, and the creature fell down into two distinct pieces.

Stepping back she dis-ignited her lightsaber but kept it within her hand as she turned to face the man... Nicholas, his name was Nicholas.

@[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"]

Nick smirked a bit, clapping sarcastically at her performance.

"Bravo..." he said. "Brava.... But that doesn't answer my question. Who are you, and why are you here? I've dealt with enough fake Sith today for one lifetime..." he stated, referring to the rogue force user camp.

@[member="Saeldar"]

He was mocking her. And that made her blood boil. She hadn't been showing off, she had been removing the creature as swiftly as possible. But the Knight could think what he wished, because Saeldar still remember when she bested him in a spar, at only eight years of age. The fleeting memory brought a very subtle smile to her lips ~ before it vanished completely. Her expression became icy-cold, and she glared into the pits of his soul.

"Who am I? False Sith?" Oh that made her furious, and her presence in the Force seemed to flash up dangerously. "I am Saeldar, Apprentice to Emperor Ardik. And you are Nicholas Dragonsflame, former Apprentice of Circe Savan" she immediately stated, although in his eyes there should have been no way for her to know that, in his eyes the pair had never met before. When he asked why she was here the girl resisted the urge to roll her eyes. Typical, you always had one person who lorded their freedoms over those of another. "I'm enjoying the view; what does it look like I'm doing here?"

@[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"]

He chuckled. Problem is, he only knew of three people who knew of his apprenticeship to Circe... Daxton Bane, Frida, who was dead... And that little girl from years ago, before Nick had become a true Sith... When he was simply a Mandalorian warrior trying to break into the Sith...

Well, if it was who he thought it could be... The coldness sure hadn't changed. But he didn't confront her on it. She seemed snappy enough, he didn't feel up to provoking more unneeded problems because of a mistake in identity.

"Maybe because I just cleaned the planet of rogue force users that were pretending to be Sith, with their aura and all... And then proceed to stab my comrades in the back?" he chided, shaking his head as he got to his feet.

"Consider that... Can you blame me for being juuuuuuuuuust a little suspicious?" he asked, a grin crossing the face of the Sith Knight.

@[member="Saeldar"]

She narrowed her eyes as suspicion rose within her. The chuckle was all too telling, did he know? If he tried to denounce her as the child she had once been, Saeldar could feign ignorance, after all she was the Emperor's Apprentice, of course she would know whose Apprentice he had been...

"Paranoid, more like. Why don't you go and accuse Tyrin, too, while you're at it?" The girl was in no mood for games, so she turned on her heels and began to wander back out the way she had come, patting her pocket to ensure the crystal was still with her. It chimed and sang into the back of her mind, calling to her, it wanted her ~ but that would have to wait, because she had to forge a new blade first.

Up through the winding caves she went, not caring whether or not she was being followed. He could rot down here for all she cared, Saeldar just wanted to leave this blasted planet once and for all.

@[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"]

The Sith Knight rolled his eyes, really not in the mood for the girl's insolence. He boredly walked back the way he came, not caring if he was going the same way as the girl or not.

He yawned as light hit his face. Yay, Dantooine with it's rolling savannahs and it's ugly ass locals. Nick would be glad to get back to the Destruction Fox ASAP.

@[member="Saeldar"]

Finally she broke out into the sunlight, and set her sights across the savannah. In the distance she could make out the city she had originally been aiming for, and beyond that would be the ship, waiting to bring her back to the Empire. She was done with this dusty planet.

Without stopping to wait for the Knight, or even checking if he existed still, she ventured out into the plains. She did not need someone following her, nor even someone fighting her battles, that was not her purpose here after all...

@[member="Nicholas DragonsFlame"]

Nick quite frankly didn't care about whoever the chick was. His curiosity was sated, that's all that mattered.

He kept walking toward civilization. The comforts of the DF were much better then this wretched place...
