Who defends the defenders?

Coruscant; just outside the senate temple

Gherron gazed upon the building, thoughts swirling in his head. How long had it been? Weeks? Months? Years? He'd lost track, but the memory still sat there. When he'd still been a padawan, the Sith had struck, leveling the place like it was nothing. His only regret was that he wasn't there to help defend it. Maybe it wouldn't have changed anything, but he didn't care. His heart lay with the Republic, and he would die for its people. Sometimes, he wondered what he would do if he met one of the Sith who dealt such damage to Coruscant. One had apparently shot beams from his eyes. How could Gherron combat a power like that? Pondering this, he sat on a bench near the building, remaining silent.

Coruscant, just outside the Senate Temple...

Not a soul paid him any attention, save for a few glances due to the fact that he was larger than most. Standing at nearly two meters tall, Jacen Cavill was hard to miss. Yet, here was a Dark Lord of the Sith walking around the capital of the Republic. It had been months since Darth Kryptus had last been on the world, with the exception of when he had to show up as Cade Lee and lead his business. Profits were soaring, and the drum beat of war was only intensifying, furthering his sales. On the capital of the Republic, it seemed construction was still booming as well. Temporarily blue eyes scanned the scene before him, and for a moment he was in awe of his own might. Buildings were still be rebuilt, and craters from the various blows he and [member="Mikhail Shorn"] had dealt each other could be seen still. Had he not had the ring on that Soliael had given him, the former Serreno noble would have been able to feel the taint of the darkside from that battle and all the death and carnage it had caused.

His wounds had healed, and he was back. It seemed Coruscant was still trying to recover. Jacen wouldn't let that happen.

His entire presence cut of from the Force, and his powers robbed of him so long as he wore the ring, Cavill simply took in the scene. The holos didn't do the destruction that was being repaired justice, and a smile crossed his face. People of all different species meandered around him, and he was simply lost in the crowd for a bit as he pressed forward. He was too enthralled with his handiwork to even care if he was noticed. A getaway plan had been formed, and his lightsaber was tucked under the heavy politicians robes he wore. Beneath was his customary Iron Skin armorweave, and the man simply needed to remove the ring and he'd be ready to unleash more hell on the world. Scanning the crowd as he saw a Jedi deep in thought, assessing the opportunity, Jacen walked over and sat on the bench next to the man.

"It's not customary to see Jedi brooding, are you alright?" He pointed at the man's lightsaber and made sure his face showed the necessary emotions so as not to arouse suspicion.

Gherron hadn't been alone for very long, before he saw a rather tall man standing over him, blocking the sunlight. He wanted to know if he was alright. In response, the Jedi simply shook his head and sighed, looking to the ruined building once more. He surely didn't expect a confrontation from anyone, but he wasn't in the least bit surprised. He was right after all, Jedi are usually seen in action, always doing something to help wherever they could. He would be, of course, had his current mindset not haunted him the way it did at the moment.

"I don't know if you were here when it happened sir, but a while back the Sith dealt a massive blow to the Republic, by taking out that senate building there. They're still trying to repair it. If Anything, I just wish I would've been there when it happened. Maybe I could have... I don't know, distracted that Sith long enough for him to be taken out."

Standing up, he offered his hand, offering a light smile. He didn't feel what the smile implied about him, but he'd suck it up if it meant making another friend or helping one out. "I'm Gherron, by the way. And you?"

"Crap." Hannibal muttered, lowering his binoculars. "Nev'a mind."

"What'd you mean 'never mind?'" Said the Gran standing next to the Fondorian, holding a sniper rifle. He had been ready to hand it off to Hannibal, but for some reason the Fondorian had refused.

This was supposed to be rather routine. Hannibal goes to Coruscant, meets up with an arms dealer, borrows a gun, snipes at a Jedi, thus prompting the Jedi to come after him, beats the Jedi up when he got close enough, bags the Jedi, then get paid a million credits upon turning him over to those shadowy folks calling themselves the New Order. Easy stuff. Hannibal had been involved in much more difficult ops. This wasn't supposed to get all complicated and whatnot.

"Hey! You in there, stupid?"
"Can it, trioculus." Hannibal snarled back, finally looking away. "Some freakin' senator mook just sat next t' the guy. I can't get a shot without blowin' 'is brains out."

That gave the Gran pause, if only to frown and bring the sniper rifle closer to his chest. "What, then?"

"We wait, dingus."

Cavill took the Jedi's hand and shook it eagerly, in a situation like this it was better to just go with the flow. Oh feth, he thought to himself at the man's questions. Who in the world do I introduce myself as to this guy? I can't really just tell him my Sith name, as that's a dead ringer. Even my own name would automatically throw up red flags since all the Sith Empire's records are now public knowledge. I'm sure they've linked Jacen Cavill and Darth Kryptus together for quite some time, especially after what happened here. Jacen wanted to kick himself over the fact that he wasn't wearing his glasses and in his Cade Lee disguise, this would have been the perfect time to build a business contact and some ears in the Jedi Order. Everything was pretty much stacked against the Sith Lord who was in disguise presently, he didn't even have credentials with a name on them. Cavill had simply changed at his business headquarters and gone from there to survey the city as it was being repaired.

A Sith Lord was never without a good lie though.

"My name is Allon Fel, I hail from Corellia. I'm here representing a possible treaty that would allow more of our wares to make way into the Republic. It seems you could really use the help given the state of affairs in the galaxy." Jacen released his hand while returning to face the repairs before him. "It seems everyone is working against peace and democracy these days Gherron." Ideals that Cavill himself didn't believe in, the only way peace could be accomplished would be by burning everything and establishing one true ruler over everything. "I've even heard rumors that there are million credit bounties on all Jedi and Sith thanks to the Mandalorians and the remnants of those who were part of the Empire. Is that true?" The last sentence was a true question, Cavill needed to know if he was part of the hunted as well.

Realizing he hadn't really answered what Gherron has first spoke of, he decided to pry a little. "Well from what I heard Master Jedi, it seems those two Sith were quite powerful. If you weren't even a Knight then, what could you have done? I thought you weren't supposed to hold grudges?" The last question was to test his resolve, all the while Jacen felt eyes on them. If someone was going to take a shot, there was enough distance between the two men for someone to pull off such a feat....

Lady Hel herself had been close by in her robes and hood but no helmet, ebony black hair behind her shoulders and inside her robes while her orange eyes stared at the datapad she had reading. In truth she was there to study the defenses and the Jedi temple's structure so that there was a basis for her to work at using her gathered co-conspirators and for her to use the slave bombs to the maximum efficiency. But a sight caught her eye and for a moment she swallowed, [member="Gherron Vael"] was nearby, a friend of her other half and if he noticed her signature it would be a bit similar to Alexandra's too similar for him to dismiss immediately. Her eyes then drifted to [member="Jacen Cavill"], he seemed familiar but not overly so she didn't care so much so she lessened her presence very slowly so that it wasn't noticeable the change, also grabbing at her helmet in case which lay behind her on the bench.

A small nod came from Gherron at the man's name, and he listened as he stated the reasoning for his presence on Coruscant. So, Allon was here to help. That at least put the Jedi in good spirits. Then thinking about the man's questions, he tried to remember something about a bounty. "Yes, actually, I think I do remember something like that. The two at the top of the list, their names escape me. I believe one was called Shorn? I dunno. Maybe. But to answer your other question..." He looked straight into the man's eyes with the steely grey of his own.

"I'll tell you something, Mister Fel. I would give my life for this Republic, that will never change. If there was some way I could have sacrificed myself to save another, I would have done so. And no, Jedi aren't supposed to hold a grudge. But there is a stark difference between holding a grudge, and wanting redemption for those lost. If I ever met that Sith, I'd fight to the end, but I would beer give up until the battle finished. I gave my word to protect and serve, and I will not stray."

After the brief speech, Gherron seemed to return to normal. Looking at the man who had approached him, he had no idea that he was staring into the eyes of the very Sith whom he was speaking of. He had not a clue as to what either of the two dark lords looked like, so even without the glasses he was in the dark. Letting out a little air with a small smile, he reached out with the force as he had the strange feeling of being watched. one particular set of eyes seemed familiar to him. It unsettled the man to think of who it could be, but he would stay at peace for the moment, prepared to push the civilian out of the way of combat should it come to find him.
