- Meditative Maintenance: The Blade can only be maintained through meditation, letting the Force guide the wielder's hand, as opposed to treating it like a regular blade
- Bonded Connection: Whisperwind has bonded to Reina, others who attempt to wield the blade will find it as if trying to wield the unruly nature of the sea itself.
- A Stormy Bond: The bond between Reina and Whisperwind is not total. It has a will of its own, sometimes resisting against Reina, to test her convictions and to test if she can follow through on her strikes.
- The Flame Versus the Wave: Whisperwind favors calm, flowing energy. When exposed to high temperatures, its Force aura becomes "muted," dulling its connection and lessening its cutting power
- Force Nullification: Within any form of Force Nullifcation, Whisperwind loses all of its abilities of its more spiritual strengths, and becomes nothing more than a finely crafted blade
There are weapons that are forged, and then there are those that are found.
Whisperwind belongs to the latter. Deep beneath a forgotten stretch of ocean, buried within the collapsed ruins of an ancient temple, the blade lay waiting, its edge uncorroded despite the centuries of saltwater and silence that surrounded it. Reina discovered it by accident while exploring the flooded remains of the structure, her descent guided more by instinct than intent, through her travels. Letting the Force guide her step.
What she found was a blade embedded in stone, the water around it unnaturally still. When her hand brushed the hilt, she felt the faintest pulse of the Force calm, patient, and vast, like the current of the sea itself. The moment she lifted it free, the silence deepened. The temple's carvings flickered faintly with light, then went dark again, as though some old vow had finally been fulfilled.
Whisperwind's craftsmanship defies simple classification. The curved Songsteel blade bears a faint ripple pattern reminiscent of ocean waves, with subtle etchings that glow faintly when the Force flows through it. Within its core lies an offering of the deep crystal, lending the weapon its cool, steady resonance. Its light weight and balance make it ideal for swift, fluid combat — a sword meant to flow rather than clash.
Yet its nature is not one of raw power. Whisperwind is quiet, contemplative, and alive in subtle ways. It hums softly in the presence of strong Force currents, its tone rising and falling like the tide. When drawn into combat, its swings cut through the air with almost no sound, lending its name an eerie truth. The weapon seems attuned not only to its environment but to its wielder's spirit; when Reina fights with calm focus, it moves effortlessly, as though guided by the Force itself. But when anger or turmoil clouds her thoughts, the blade becomes heavier, its hum turning against her, resisting her touch as if recoiling from heat.
Despite its beauty, Whisperwind is not without flaw. Its affinity for the calm and cold of the deep ocean leaves it vulnerable to intense heat, the resonance within the blade falters in fiery or volcanic environments. Likewise, the weapon's bond with the Force is delicate, in places devoid of the Force, it becomes little more than a finely crafted, though ordinary, sword.
To Reina, Whisperwind represents more than a relic, it is a symbol of balance. A reminder that strength does not always roar. Sometimes, it moves in silence. The blade is her companion in solitude and her teacher in stillness a quiet echo of the Force's will, carried on the currents of wind and water alike. A teacher that will not leave her, unlike others.
