Whispered Power and Burnt Truth

Ambria, a small desert planet that held little to no life on it barren lands hidden within the Inner Rim, overlooked by nearly all. However, whilst its presence within the minds of the many beings that populated the galaxy was nearly non existent, ignored and dismissed as it was, Ambria was swathed in the Dark Side of the Force. The stench of corruption seemed to literally seep off from the planet and into the Force, feeding on its dark past that remained as whispered echoes. Centuries ago, during an era which had been eroded from the minds of all by the sands of time, a Sith Sorceress attempted to preform a ritual on the planet, but her arrogance proved to be her downfall and the power she sought to harness as her own turned against her, destroying her body and spirit while also eradicating every sign of life on the planet apart from the Hssiss; which instead thrived under the onslaught of Darkness. Then, years later, the Sith fleeing from their loss during the Hyperspace War hid on the planet, further worsening the corruptive energies that covered the planet.

Over time, many a Sith had attempted to call Ambria theirs, to harness the Darkness and power that flooded the land but every attempt made only served to further strengthen this well of the Dark Side, empowering it as the Sith and their followers would eventually fall to a hubris of some sort which would lead to their painful deaths. One such Sith that had tried to settle on the desert planet had since lost her name to the past, efforts of a rival known as Darth Fuan to eradicate all knowledge of the Sith Lord being successful, but even then whispers of the Temple erected in this Forgotten Sith's name remained, strengthened by the rumours that any who managed to discover that Temple ended up descending into raving insanity.

One of the beings that had happened upon the Temple could attest to the the rumours of insanity. Years after he had had set his then yellow eyes upon the ruins of what had obviously once been an extravagant building constructed entirely out of finely carved stone, whispers and tormenting visions plaguing his nights and causing him to wake up muffling his screams of terror. However, it was only recently that he had managed to understand exactly what had happened. When he had set eyes upon the Temple, something, an echo of what he assumed to be the Forgotten Sith, had imprinted on his mind, causing a constant and ever there whisper to exist in the back of his mind that sought to convince him to return to Ambria, that power beyond whatever he could imagine existed in the depth of the ancient building. Xavka Duquo of the Sith Assassins, was now determined to confront this aspect of his past, to put it to rest and bury the demons. And if he did manage to succeed in discovering the hidden power, then the Sith Assassins would benefit from it.

It was for that reason that Xavka, Darth Lykos to all but his Master Darth Ophidia, had arranged for a small force of Assassins to gather a short distance from the Temple. From there they were to split off into three groups. One would be discover the Forgotten Sith through allowing the visions of the horror laden past to enter their minds and discover whatever secrets they held and why it was that they stubbornly remained clinging to the mortal coil; this was to be Xavka's objective. The second would be tasked with discovering the truth of whatever organisation had been housed within the Temple. And finally, the third group was to recover as much knowledge and technology that had been left behind by the organisation as they possible could, which would then be used to strengthen the Assassins as a whole.

So, Xavka stood silently at the shores of Lake Natth, a lake at the northern most point of Ambria that housed some of the more mutated and vicious examples of Hssiss, staring at the mostly isolated island only a short distance in front of him. The only link between the edge of the lake and the shore was a thin pathway of rock. Silently, he stood clad in his typical heavy robes, waiting for the arrival of the others.

OOC Information

Group 1:
Group 1 is to find the location of the Force Ghost of the "Forgotten Sith" and discover information about their past. To do this, members of Group 1 are expected to experiance visions. Whether they are directly from the Force Ghost, revealing facts of their past life, or if they are about the efforts the "Forgotten Sith" made to create their Sect is up to you. Further information will be in the spoiler bellow.

Group 2:
Group 2 is to discover the past of the destroyed organisation through exploring the Temple. Members of Group 2 can achieve this however they wish, whether that is receiving visions of the past to old holocrons or something else entirely. They can even create their own lore in this regards, however, I do ask that a few key points of lore that I have created be followed. But, then again, you don't have to listen to me. More information will be in the spoiler bellow.

Group 3:
Group 3 is to recover either knowledge or technology. Members of Group 3 are allowed to come up with the discovered technology and, after this thread is concluded, I shall do my best to submit the "recovered" tech to the Factory so that it may be used. All that I ask is that no one goes over board and that they consider thing that the Faction as a whole can use when coming up with technology. There isn't really any additional information, so members of Group 3 need not read the spoiler bellow.

Over All Lore.
This contains the Lore of both the "Forgotten Sith" (Aasani Iroga) and the Organisation as a whole. Sorry about the fact that it's pretty extensive, I've spent quite a bit of time on this idea.

The Start
Sama iw ri Jin' Nakis, or Sect of the Dark Night when one converts the Ancient Sith tongue to Basic. The Sect rose to prominence centuries ago, so long ago that no living being that had contact with the shadowy group can remember them. Their name is now unknown, all knowledge of them lost to the sands of time and the fires that purged all documentation of their existence.
They were commanded by a Nautolan by the name of Aasani Iroga, Darth Vene. Skilled as she was in her younger years, Aasani was by no means as strong in combat as her fellow Sith, often finding herself beaten and near death when fighting on an even battlefield. However, from this, Aasani found her own strength within the Shadows. She embraced the ideals of manipulation, secrecy and trickery, and turned her attention away from the Force and even Lightsabers to focus on poisons. From the darkness she would strike, weakening her foes before emerging to deal the finishing blow and soon, this became noticed by one Lord of the Sith. Darth Vene, first of the name, soon took the Nautolan as her apprentice, teaching her what she was strongest in, deception through the Force. When the time came for Darth Vene to die, Aasani stepped forwards and adopted both the mannerisms and name of her teacher as was planned by the pair, all with the intention to make the name Vene immortal and feared.
Now as a Darth, Aasani became to gather followers, faking deaths of Acolytes many considered weak before training them under her philosophies of assassination, corrupting the minds of civilians and tempting many a Sith into loyalty. Through secrecy, Aasani forged a group that was loyal to her and her above all else and all followed the philosophy that she put forward, that which had helped her survive when she was not even an Acolyte and guided her ascension.

Soon the new life for Aasani soon fell as one rival Darth discovered the secret of her and her Master, the former Vene, and laid siege upon her assets, seeking to either destroy them, or convert them into his own network of assassins, agents and spied. However, as she had always done, Aasani faded into the shadows, fleeing, and taking her followers with them, soon bestowing upon them the title of Sama iw ri Jin' Nakis, the Sect of the Dark Night.

The Rise
Settling on Ambria, an ancient desert planet where Hssiss thrived and the Dark side was heavy, the Sect soon erected a temple in the northern hemisphere, on an Island in the middle of lake Natth, where the Hssiss - strong in Darkness, thrived. Utilising a mixture of both Sorcery and Alchemy, the Sect forged ward stones that helped hide the Temple from the senses of Force Users and that influenced the mind of any that did not partake in the Ritual of the Night, where blood of Aasani would be injected into the initiate, as it was her blood that the defenses were bound. Technological defenses were few, only enough to hide from scans, to prevent large amounts of energy being tracked or located on the barren wasteland.
From the Temple, the Sect thrived, studying the Force and using their skills so as to further the group as well as when contracted. Bitter from what she suffered at the hands of Sith, Aasani often had her followers attack Sith as well as Jedi so as to steal Datacrons.
Those that worked within the overgrowing library within the Temple would copy the knowledge of all Datacrons stolen, as well as whatever knowledge the minds of the members of the Sect held, into a single location that would serve as a repository for the entire Sect, but one that would be controlled by the Mistress (Aasani) and the Council that formed around her. The repositoty became known as the Qormuo Sishuas, the Endless Codex.

The Fall
With the Sects open, if guarded, policy, eventually a traitor would enter unnoticed by the Council, and one eventually did. An agent of Darth Fuan, the Lord that had had Aasani and her followers declared traitors and heretics, entered the Sect and reported back to his Master. Even though the enhancement of both Sorcery and Alchemy forbid him from speaking of the location, the agent provided coordinates to Darth Fuan and the orbital bombardment of the Temple Began.
The Temple survived the bombardment as the Sorcerers and Alchemist strengthened one of the many shields that protected the Temple, leaving it damaged but standing, however, in doing so, the strength of every other protection was drained and now the Temple could be easily found. A frontal assault soon accompanied the bombardment - which was continued to weaken the Sorcerers and Alchemists still alive, slowly draining their strength.
As the members of the Sect fell outside of the Temple and within its halls, Aasani hid the Qormuo Sishias, sealing it away as it was the pride of her legacy, before leaping into the fray. Over the decades since her fleeing the Sith, Aasani had discovered texts on both Phase and Force Fold and used them efficiently, slipping through the shadows with ease to dispatch her enemies, even as the two abilities slowly began to weaken her body, killing her from the inside out as her organs began to fail from the strain that she suffered under.
Even with their strength, the Sect fell one by one, caught unprepared and unaware by superior numbers, until only a handful remained. Accepting their fates, the remaining members of the Sect, no longer calling themselves Sith as they believed they had transcended that title, they fought harder and more viciously against their attackers, taking as many with them as they could. But it wasn't enough and even though the forces of Fuan suffered for it, they claimed the Temple and with it the knowledge of the Sect.
However, the fail safes within the temple activated, a Sorcery ritual triggered by the spilling of the blood of every member of the Sect, even Aasani. A wave of Darkness originated from the heart of the Temple, where the stones lay, that claimed the life of any around the Temple and used their life force to bind Aasani's spirit to the Qormuo Sishias. At the same time, the fires that the Librarians had started consumed the remains of the Library, leaving only the concealed Codex the source of knowledge within the ruins.

OOC Thread: Link

It took the young man a few minutes to reach the rendezvous point, after a shuttle dropped the apprantice of on Ambria. He had read the dossier for the mission at least 5 times, but no words were even close to the feeling of darkness he had when he stepped out on the surface of the planet. He could hear the echos all around him, strange and twisted as it was the natur of the dark side. As he walked towards the rendezvous point he allowed his mind to reach out to these echos, trying to use his years of contact with old relics to narrow down were this mission would lead him but every time he tought he found something another echo was leading him away. After his third attempt he gave up, the force was to strong and universal on this planet to focus on a particular location. It did not really matter anyway, one the sith more powerful sith than him that would be on this mission would find the way. He could see a lake not far away, and close by a hooded figure that he assumed was [member="Darth Lykos"], the former apprantice of his master, and Abyss was eager to see to what powers his training under Darth Ophidia could lead him to. The hood of his old, tatterd black robe pulled over his face, he walks towards the other man, stopping around a meter before him. He bows down slightly in front the sith knight, before closely oberserving his surroundings while waiting for the rest of assassins to arrive.
