The Whisper Network is less a true company and more of a streamlined datahub for information brokers who would prefer the stability of working together. The business is not even officially incorporated except under the vaguest of trademarks in Nar Shaddaa. For tax purposes, of course. Also, liability. The Network deals in secrets of all shades ranging from simple celebrity gossip to classified military secrets. All for sale, so long as the customer has the appropriate amount of credits. The Network offers a way to keep their brokers identities anonymous and serves as the go between and public face for many of the Network's associates. Although primarily based out of Nar Shaddaa on New Vertica City, the Whisper Network also has offices on the Wheel as well as Kwenn Station.
RATIONALE
Mauve Du Vain used the money she earned from the hosting the Galactic Kaggath, serving as the Underlord's Vigo, and operating the Club Vertica casino to open the doors to a private intelligence service. Information Brokers range from a one time participant to regular assets. Especially adept brokers often offer services far beyond simple information gathering and can include corporate espionage.
