Private When You Wish Upon A Star

Delilah Brujav

Seeing that Star was interested in getting Dinner arranged, Delilah was willing to entertain the Twi'lek on that front. The woman seemed to start preparing one portion of the meal, giving orders for Delilah to prepare another aspect of it. Having made a career out of following orders to the letter, Delilah did as she was told, filling the pot and turning the burner to the desired setting. Having done that, Delilah stepped aside, as Star went to town, gathering a rather interesting combination of ingredients. Delilah said nothing however, standing merely at parade rest as she watched, waiting for another instruction to be tossed her way.

It was funny. Star reminded her of her mother in a way, or perhaps it was just the cooking aspect. Truthfully, Delilah hadn't had a home cooked meal in....many a year. Not since her mother last prepared one. The thought rekindled old memories, some of the only good ones she had of her academy years. It was rather sad how much she had sacrificed all for a career that floundered in the end. Now here she was, throwing all of that away on a gamble when a thought occurred to her; she'd never be able to see her mothers grave again. A low sigh came from the former captain, her head dipping as her thoughts grew heavy. She had practically tied everything in her life to a career as an officer, all for naught. Had she really let her career blind her so wholly?

Apparently so.

Of course, these were all contained within the mind of Delilah, standing by as her host cooked up a meal.

Stardust felt delilahs mood change, it mad estar visibly frown for a second then she took a breath and gave a look over as she got everything into the pot and smiled as she turned it to about medium heat

something wrong delilah? Your mood has just changed and...well it just kinda concerned me a little

She wanted to make sure her student was in good morale through this, suddenly feeling her so down was rather concerning and stardust herself couldn't read minds...yet

Star's words caught the woman off guard, as Delilah looked up with a degree of alarm. Had she made herself that obvious? Apparently so. Delilah shrugged her shoulders, her eyes looking down and away from the Twi'lek.

"Sorry, was just thinking of my mother. She was the last person I had a homemade meal with, and it brought back memories. Apologies. It won't be a problem." She remarked, her expression melting away to a stoic look, as the former captain moved away from Star, intending on securing dishware for the pairs upcoming meal. Years in the Sith military had thought her how to hide away her feelings, especially the ones she didn't want her superiors to know about. She was used to operating this way, keeping her feelings encased behind an ironclad shell of void expression. It had kept her safe, and frankly, this was just how she operated. It would take time to reprogram this behavior in time, though if she even felt like doing such a thing wasn't something Delilah cared to think about. In the end, she was just an extension of someone's will, and she always had been. Perhaps always would be. No need to get used to expressing her emotions in that case.

Star seemed to freeze, turning fully towards the former captain as she blinked a few times, standing even as the captain turned away as star took a deep breath in and out

I lost my parents, when i was about a teen, both were killed on narshadda in a explosion I was with them....I was lucky to even live

She glanced to the stew, watching as it was barely beginning to steam, she approached delilah and spoke some more

I understand that the Sith empire... had to of been rough...but if you ever need to talk about anything and I mean anything at all that's bothering you or you've kept locked...please dont hesitate, its not healthy keeping it trapped
