Makayla Shaw walked down the hallway in her formal Miltiary Dress with her hair tied up and only one of her twin pistols at her hip. She was new to the Republic and had just been assigned to the Republic Army. She walked to a lobby of the Headquarters. She gasped as she looked around to see that it was a huge and pretty building. With the way that she had lived in the past She always loved to see the nice things in life. It always amazed her that she had come so far when she was first on her own in the training camps. She was top of her class but she had always been shy.

Makayla looked around to see officers run here and run there delivering orders and telling people what to do. Some of them stopped and looked at her for a second to see a new girl in town. Everytime a man walked by she would blush. She was never to good around boys. They made her feel nervous and sometimes scared. She didnt like some girls ether. They were to much drama talking about a new pair of shoes and a new dress that cost them a fortune. She didnt like it when they tried to be snooty about it and flaunt themselves around.

Quietly she waited for someone to talk to her. She didnt know the place and was to shy to ask the clerk at the desk on where she should go. It was almost terrifying to talk to people sometimes. because of how they looked or acted. Some acted like jerks while others were kind and sweet. She just hoped that this would be a good day.

Meetings, briefings, conferences. These things seemed to dominate her life as of late. After morning PT it seemed she was stuck in them until mess, then straight back into her own private hell or back to her office for paperwork and proposals. The Omni droids had left the Galactic Republic scrambling to rebuild and re-secure many planets within the territory. This only led to more work.

Lucky the damage had been minimal to the portion of the building Delila found herself in. The Major strode confidently, datapad and flimsy files under her arm. Not surprisingly she was coming back from another meeting, this time with her Lieutentant, Anemone Nivalis. Delila had been impressed with the impact the young Doctor had made on the 73rd and things were looking up.

Seeing a lost looking solider, Delila tried to remember when the fresh batch of straight from camp soldiers arrived. Apparently it was today. Stopping in front of the young woman, Delila observed her up and down subtly. Or perhaps the young lady had come in from one of the strongholds at the edges of Republic space.

"Can we help you soldier? You look quite formal....If you're looking for the memorial service for Staff Sgt. Jae Mar its not til 1300, Crix Madine building"

Makayla looked to the woman who had talked to her. She was carrying files of the sort and looked as though she had not had sleep in days. "Um no m'am Im here because I was assigned here? This is where the Republic army Headquarters is right?" She was nervous to the extreme. someone just came out of nowhere and asked if she was attending a funeral. "And I'm Um sorry for your loss."

Makayla looked around to see that people were still walking around as though nothing was happening between them. Her hands shook by her side. and she could feel her heart flutter and skip a beat. She cursed that she felt sweat on her body. Hopefully the other woman didnt notice it. or smell it.

Down the hall, in the distance, the clustered tocking of boots to stone floor could be heard. A group of soldiers still in battle armor were approaching the offices of the Republic Military HQ. Dressed in trooper armor that had bits of the shin guard and shoulder armor painted in gold and yellow- easily recognizable as members of the Golden Companions. Furthermore, they were all drenched in what could be seen and unavoidably smelt as droid fuel. The leading member, the one with the most smut, fuel and mess on her armor dressed in an equally dirty golden tunic worn over her armor stopped in front of the offices where two women were previous in conversation. Raising her dark gloved gauntlet she removed her helmet to reveal a cascade of golden hair that flopped out of the helmet to partially cover her face and drop down her back with the rest. Combing the hair that covered her missing eye with her fingers to get it fixed into position she then saluted to @[member="Delila Castillon"]. "39th Koros Major Battalion, Iron Maiden. Returning to base" Lowering her saluting arm, she turned to look at the new comer @[member="Makayla Shaw"], she looked her up and down with her steely professional soldier glare she often sported. One of the soldiers from a different company had been passing by called out to the Iron Maiden, "Frack on stick Maiden, the hell happened to you guys?" Turned to address the man, looking back at Delila she growled out her report, "I was getting to that. The jist of it is we got called into sector mop up. Apparently some armies of tin-cans still exist in the core. 39th along with attachments from the 45th and 32th Coruscant were scattered to deal with em." The soldiers nodded in amusement and joked about the Iron Maiden and whether she really was made of steel. Finishing her report she rested her dirty helmet on a chair. She turned to her men and with a gesture of her head tilting to one direction they saluted and left. She then rested her hands on her hips and spoke more informally to Delila, "How you holding up then?" Remembering there was another by-stander to their conversation she turned her head, her bright blue eyes stared deep into those of the other woman, "Who's miss twitchy over here?"

The woman who came was all buisness about the war that was going on. She was dirty from a recent skirmish. she talked to the woman in front of her, Delila. But Makayla's face went cold when the "Iron Maiden" said about "little miss twitchy". "In case you dont know 'Iron Maiden' I was ranked Top in my class for Pistols and Rifle Standards of shooting. I fly a Ship like none other and I never miss what I shoot." Makayla was mad that someone was calling her out on being shy. SO what that she was. But now she was going to stand up for herself.

"I don't know who you are, but I don't take it to kindly when someone talks about me like I am not there Or calls me names." She just then realized that she was talking to a Captain from the marks on her armor. Her face went Bright red in embarrassment. Now all she wanted to do was run and hid because she just talked back to one of her superiors.

Delila sighed, a little annoyed by the lack of communication. "Yes you're assigned here soldier, but what else? I am not a mind reader, I cannot just guess where you're supposed to be. Where is your file they gave you before leaving Camp?"

While waiting for the answer, Delila saluted back to the Maiden. Mouse droids scuttled in behind the Tetan Legion soldiers as they left mud and debris all over the gleaming floors. The lobby was one of the nicest spaces in the Republic Army, a bit of a show case and it was kept gleaming at all times of day. There was always a bit of tension between herself and the Maiden, as they were two rival leaders of their respective soldiers. Nothing serious, but friendly and competitive.

"Excellent...73rd is shipping out soon." Delila had more to say but the new soldier had to reply to the Captains comment. Her eyebrows shot up for a moment, surprised. This girl didn't have the guts to speak to her and give simple information like name, rank, and what Camp she just got shipped out from but she had zero problem telling off a Captain.

"Listen up, I don't what Camp you came from but Captain Maiden is a respected member of this military. I expect if you are going to want to be spending any amount of time here you start acting like a soldier. This isn't basic anymore, this is the real world."

Makayla was absolutely embarrassed for that. She didnt know that the Iron Maiden was a Captain untill after she had talked back to her. Her knees were stuck together and her whole body was shaking. now she really was "Little miss twitchy". "Sorry m'am. It wont happen again." Makayla looked down at her boots that she had just cleaned this morning. The tile beneath her feet was glossy from being waxed often. "Captain Iron Maiden, I am Extremely sorry for what I said. It...it.." She was about to break down because this was her first day and already she was screwing things up.

Maiden blinked for a bit as "little miss twitchy" suddenly gained a personality and barked back at her. She paused for a bit while Delila commanded her to adjust her behaviour for her new circumstance. A smirk ran across her face and she belched out a roaring laugh, "BWAHAHAHAHA!" Laughing so hard she bent backwards a little to rock her head back she leaned over to the new girl and smacked her on the back a little too hard, but then again Maiden never knew how to go easy with her strength. Still laughing she chuckled, "I like this one Castillon, she's got a personality after all!" While in her mirth she noticed that the new girl was apologizing, Maiden rested her merry face into a calm stare. She patted the child on her head and smiled some more, "It's all right kid. Personality and passion makes for a powerful soldier. So keep that spark and you'll be kickin' ass from here to the outer rim." She leaned in closer and her expression turned sinisterly professional, "Just don't ever get an attitude out in the battlefield or else I might snap you in two....ok?" Maiden paused for a second, letting her semi-joke sink in and waiting for a reaction before lunging back again laughing.

Turning to Delila, she gave her a wink and spoke once more, "I'll have a written report ready soon....-ish" Iron Maiden was notorious for abhorring paperwork. Speaking once more to the new comer she called to her in a more respectful but strict tone, "Better answer Major Castillon's questions, private. Name? Assignment? Attached Battalion?"

Makayla was surprised that Iron Maiden was not all that mad at her for talking back. She didn't know what to do. She was still scared in her boots that she would be reprimanded for saying that. Then the Captain complimented her for the 'Spark', What followed didn't surprise her with the threat about splitting her in half. With the way the woman looked she could kill her over 1000 way with a fingernail.

"Um thank you. and It wont." She was then asked to say her rank name and such. "Makayla Shaw, and I was only told to be here at this time." She was talking to the both of them because the two women had now asked the name and rank. From the man who talked to her about coming her she was only told to come her. She didnt even know what rank she was! The closest she could think was 'Private'.

Delila made a mental note to see what Camp Shaw came from and give them a through piece of her mind. Sending in fresh young recruits without even a thought in their head about rank or where they were supposed to be. It was incredibly frustrating especially when time constraints limited Delila from actually sitting down and making sure this wouldn't happen again.

"Fine, you're now Specialist Shaw. Since you mentioned just leaving camp that is where I'd place you within the rank structure. Now you fly, I assume you're here to make sure we stop crash landing?"

Looking to Maiden she shrugged about the reports and continued on. "Since you like her 'spark' feel free to incorporate her into your soldiers. I like crash landing too much, keeps me young."
