Wheel in the Sky

Kaia was looking for training. She always was. But she was also looking to explore the galaxy. That was part of the reason she was doing what she was doing. The Wandering Star, her YT-2400 that was now her home and personal transport, was in the docking bay and here she was, on The Wheel. She knew what her next move had to be in life. The Republic was not a safe place for her. The Republic was really not a safe place for anyone who could think for themselves. Maybe her father was right? Maybe the Empire was the way to go.

But she didn’t want to quit that quickly. She was part of the Levantine Sanctum and she had word that her father was there. Did that mean… no, she knew her brother was fine. The Dawn Treader was probably retreating to Csillia, the family’s Alamo. Even if she had no idea what the Alamo actually was.

And so she sat, on the Wheel, at one of the smaller food counters, a dish of rice on her plate and a tortilla filled with cheese and poultry strips. She was debating her life and she was looking around. Explore the galaxy that was what her Odyssey was for. Well, it was a really big, confusing place. She had heard word of what was going on in the Fringe, but… she didn’t know where she was supposed to go.

Sighing, she looked down at her food, then turned her attention to the Pod Race. Who owned this station, anyhow?

Kerov walked the corridors of The Wheel followed by his two bodyguards. The shops and diners were less then best Kerkov though but he could never say no to a good meal. Finally he stopped at a small restaurant he thought was adequate and wouldn't give him food poisoning. As he sat down he saw the only other patron in the dusty eating joint, he guessed she was a pilot looking for adventure or maybe something else. He waived off his two body guards to go wander the station on free time. He motioned to a waiter he was ready to order. And after he gave it to him he also asked him, "I would like to send a drink with a note attached to it, and it should transcript this 'If your a pilot or a fleet officer,I got a proposal for you'"

"Of course sir." The waiter walked off with the order. A grin grew across Kerkov's face, it always fun having a new member in the Open Circle Armada.

Kaia looked back up at the pod race that was going on. She missed flying in races like that. The younglings aboard the Dawn Treader sometimes did that. Took some of the interceptors from the ship and made their way to a few ‘tracks’ of asteroids or cargo delivery systems and challenged one another to races. And low energy lasers made it a bit more like tag than anything else.

Turning away from the screen, she saw a drink arrive and smiled before looking around. The Admiral? Huh… That was interesting. Did he know who she was? Who her family was? She doubted it as she grabbed her plate and the drink. She ran a hand through her long black hair. “Hello?” Right, because Kaia was really good at things.
