Private What She Always Wanted

The small freighter drifted through space at a snails pace, its occupants resting in the midst of their long journey across the galaxy. Not many batted an eye so long as they remained out of restricted space, after all, the main occupant never really officially alligned herself, she didn't have the time to.

The so called 'captain' of the ship sat quietly on the floor of her quarters, paging through a few books as she practiced her writing, penmanship a bit rough compared to most but in all due fairness she was learning to read too. It was all new to the woman. The skills most children learned in basic academies were not in her repertoire, the most important being literacy.

Green eyes scanned over the shakey lettering, the words confusing at best. In the background the sound of small feet hitting the deck on the ship could be heard and childrens laugher. This was the last trip.

Rhynne made her credits as of late as a transport barge, not a large one but one small enough to fly under the radar. She had no alliance, as far as the empire knew she was hauling weaponry and the others were her crew. This last trip however had an alterior motive for the captain, she heard mutterings of a Sangnir on Kaas.

She knew it would be a long shot but what did she have to lose, she needed an explanation as to why. Standing she made her way to the cockpit of the ship only to see RX-92, who she called Rex, piloting the ship towards the surface of Dromund Kaas.

"Madam, we are nearly at the designated location. I do advise it seems there are no lifeforms in the immediate area surrounding our establisted landing zone. Would you like additional scans performed?" The hybrid simply shook her head, it was the perfect spot to offload her 'crew'. It was a remote enough area.

The boarding ramp extended and the few families went on their way, Rhynne sadly looking over the empty expanse before her. There was a power here, but she wasn't sure where to begin. She just wanted to see her Mother, Master again.

Dromuund Kaas was, as it ever would be. The home of Alina Tremiru, last of the Tremiru line. Or at least last proper, she figured. If that little misbegotten girl was still alive, then that title was free to be claimed. Alina, though, didn't care any longer. She stood among the field of grass that had once been her family estate. She'd never rebuilt it. Left it to smolder and burn. Nature, or what passed for nature here on the forever stormed world, had reclaimed it.

Her family would be forgotten in time. It suited them.

Red eyes glowed as she glanced it over. She only knew there'd been a building here because of just how steeped the estate had once been in the dark. It lingered, it echoed, even. The violent end of House Tremiru would scar the Force for far longer than any building. That could be of use.

"Victor?"

The only other remnant of the family appeared by her side. A tall, black suit clad man of pale skin and similar red eyes. A once alchemically enhanced house guard, altered for his permanent loyalty until Alina had freed him. And now, the only who would ever hold his loyalty. He dipped his head low, hand over his chest.

"Set up a picnic. I've a long overdue meal to have with my daughter."

As Rhynne stood at the hatch of the boarding ramp she looked off towards the distant skyline, her mind wandering for a brief moment before she reminded herself of her purpose here.

"Rex, please run one final vital scan." After a few moment the droid chirped back a few robotic chimes and whirls.

"Two lifeforms detected 2 klicks to the northeast, uploading a local map to your device." The RX unit, which the girl had long since reprogramed with additional functions, forwarded the information to her comlink.

It had been a long while since Rhynne had seen Alina, her mentor, protector, Mother. The girl wondered if she was ready to know why Alina had left. It didn't matter, she was here and it was too late.

Pulling up the data Rhynne boarded her speeder, leaving her ship in the dust and making way to the coordinates.

Rhynne would arrive at quite the picturesque scene. Alina, in quite the extravagant black dress now, seated atop a black plaid picnic blanket. She held a silk parasol resting on her shoulder. It was unnecessary, completely, but she wanted to go all out. Perhaps show off a little, for the woman who had been adopted as her daughter. Hell, she even slow turned her head to look over her shoulder once the speeder had stopped, a calm and kind smile on her face as she did so.

"Hello again, Rhynne."

Rhynne had waited for this moment, prepared herself to face Alina and ask why she had left. Every time she thought of this moment it filled her with such anger. Seeing her mentor again however, her heart softened, as though she was really terrified to be alone, and now she didnt have to be anymore.

On closer inspection the girl looked rather rough, skin less saturated, hair thinning and her eyes appeared overly tired with dark circles surrounding then. Her face was thinner, same with the rest of her body as her skin clung to the rather pitiful musculature left.

Tears filled her eyes as she looked to Alina, restraint in her step as she held back from an outright sprint into a hug. The anger long since faded into gratitude and forgiveness.

"Master... I.." She paused, hesitating. "I missed you..." Standing there before the Sangnir she wiped away her tears.

"I've been away for a while, it's only natural, isn't it?"

Alina waved a hand dismissively before gently patting the blanket beside her. "You look worse for wear. Sit. Tell me what's been going on. What I've missed of you, as I know I've missed far too much." Which was an understatement, but she had little desire to just, open up fully. In truth, she'd forgotten to check on Rhynne. At first because of the side effects of being brought back to life, literally forgetting, but after? As her memories returned?

She'd chosen power first, and left. Everyone, and everything, without so much as a word or even an attempt of checking on those around her. Maybe she'd apologize. Eventually. Maybe.

Rhynne sat besides Alina with no hesitation, she knew something was different about the woman than she remembered, but she chose not to acknowledge it. As she sat her balance faltered and she plopped down into the spot beside her master. "I tried training, for awhile; I just, couldn't keep up with it." Rhynne's voice was soft spoken, the tears fading away as she regained her composure.

"I've been getting by, bringing people to planets in exchange for credits to keep going, but I'm tired all the time, I've been sick a lot..." She glanced back in the direction from which she came, thinking on the last few years with only her droid, ship and the expanse of the galaxy. "Guess I'm not much of a worthy apprentice as I wanted to be."

Though she teetered around it, the girls health was failing. Her genetics were built not for longevity, but expendability, and her usefulness long since would have passed. Her pulse was slow, her breathing quiet and shallow at times. Her eyes were tired and her stare at moments distant. Whatever was happening to her was quick and likely inevitable.

"How have you been Master? You've been gone a long time." She asked while looking up at Alina in admiration.
