What Shall We Do With a Drunken Sailor

:: HERO of KORRIBAN ::

Thorn had a crew, but more importantly, the rag tag bunch of pirates had managed to steal a ship for their use. They moved about from shadowport to shadowport procuring supplies, and making repairs on the ship. The repairs were cosmetic, changing the ship enough no one would recognize it as stolen. Anything major would be worked on by the engineer, [member="Kath"], who had actually proven to be rather handy, more than her age suggested she would be.

The Captain's Quarters were the largest quarters on the ship. There was a queen size bed off to the side wall, but most of the room was set up to be more of an office. In fact, Thorn could set up a partition between the bed and the rest of the space for more privacy later. He sat at the table which was in the center of the room. Pouring himself over maps and charts, the captain of the rag tag crew was trying to decide what they should accomplish next. What was their biggest need.

Between all of them, he was certain there were credits aplenty, but he didn't want to make the crew bankroll this operation. No, they'd live off what they took, like any crew. It seemed a raid was the first order of business. They needed credits to fund all the ideas pouring in for standard weapons and such. Thorn needed options of where they could strike and gain the best ammount for what they were equipped for. He wanted the first raid to be successful, something that helped the crew come together as a team. Anyone who knocked on his door would be welcome. There was rum to drink, and a plate of meat and cheeses available as well.

Lorane was the first to arrive in the captain's quarters, still wearing the black shirt and white coat he'd fallen asleep in. His hair was tousled, his clothes were rumpled, and there was a bottle of Pan Galactic Gargle Blaster in his hand. He grabbed a handful of the meat, because mad science was hungry work, and then grinned at the captain a little bit irreverently.
"Well, Captain... This is a nice room. Gotta say I still prefer sleeping in the hangar with my workbench, though. Sound of circuits always lulls me to sleep."
He chuckled and took a few bites of the meat he'd grabbed off the plate as he leaned on the wall. The captain probably wouldn't take too well to the Chiss doctor's sarcasm, but he did it anyway. If he was going to live with these people, better that they knew exactly how he was.

Kath sighed as she stood outside [member="Thorn"]'s office, hesitating before she entered. The Epicanthix had bags under her eyes from days of repairs and cooking, trying to keep this ship from falling apart. Her skin was covered in grease and filth from working with the engines, and her clothes didn't fair much better.
But she didn't have time to make herself presentable.
"Cap'n" She pushed open the door. "Engines are giving out again. We need to stop at a port so I can purchase things for repairs."
She noticed [member="Doctor Azure"] in the room, and grimaced as she nodded in greetings. Only the captain was supposed to know about this. . . She would just have to trust in the Chiss's discretion.
She yawned as she looked back at Thorn, her body swaying with exhaustion.
"They'll keep goin' for a couple days, but they won't last a week, sir."

Ydrin strode down the hallway towards the door that would allow access to the Captain's Quarters, the long graceful strides belaying his past as a noble. Beside him to his right, and a little behind him, his droid Y8-S1 marched, his red painted feet causing echoing taps to resonate through the hallway. In Ydrin's hands was a datapad, one which he was currently tapping away at even as he walked.

"Statement: Master, I understand why you must see Human: Designation "Captain Thorn". Query: But, why must I come with you?" The masculine tones of the droid rang out into the silence. "Because, last time I left you alone, you some how wondered off only to find yourself being sold in an auction. I'm not leaving you alone anymore." The dry, accented voice of Ydrin was near silent as he spoke, which was not unusual as more often than not he was silent or if he was speaking, he kept it relatively short and quiet. "Plus, I need you here to complete my report."

By now the two figures, one organic the other metallic, had reach the door for the Captain's Quarters. Raising a hand, Ydrin knocked, sharply, three times on the door before standing quietly with his hands clasped behind his back, purple eyes, the right of which had the white coloured a milky black, gazing listlessly as he ran through what he needed to say.

"Well, that's good, because I'm not inclined to share me room with men," the captain teased, clearly. "Plenty of rum too, don't let it go to waste, unless yer working with chemicals. I'd prefer it if ye were sober for that."

For the most part not a day went by where someone in the crew was drunk. Rathe tried to avoid it, but some nights the memory of his prison experience drove him to the rum, and he drink until he fell asleep. The past few days had been good tbough.

He was about to continue the conversation with the good doctor about what he needed for his projects when [member="Kath"] busted into the room. Normally that was fine. The captain was usually alone and reports like the one she gave were free to given. Oh well, the Chiss needed to keep his mouth shut on the engine problems.

"Two days max, hmm." Thorn looked at the map laid out in front of him. He'd been tracking there movements, as slow as they were, and never once failed to know where they were. "We'll put in at Nar Shaddaa. Ye can bargain for parts, and the crew can have a few days of shore leave while we get these engines where they need to be. [member="Doctor Azure"], you'll keep this to yourself, otherwise you'll find the airlock fast."

Another knock at the door.

"Good work Kath, now if you want, you can hop in my fresher back there and clean up. I have a few extra tunics back there as well that you could borrow from for now. We need to plan our first raid." He tossed his head back toward the fresher before summoning the person waiting outside. "Enter."

[member="Ydrin"]

Raphael d'Assad would enter the room, pushing past [member="Doctor Azure"] to get to the desk. It wasn't a necessary motion, but one born from the fact that the assassin was often rude to people he just met. He sat down in a chair, kicking his boots up onto the table. He grabbed the rum, and took a healthy swig of it. After finishing , he put, the half-full bottle back onto the table. "So, Captain, what am I doing here?"

[member="Thorn"] [member="Kath"] [member="Ydrin"]

As the voice of the captain rang out for him to enter, Ydrin made to do so, pushing the door open before re-clasping his hands behind his back again. However before he could take a step over the threshold, Raphael barged past him and strode straight into the room. Glaring slightly at the rude man, and hearing a whirring of Y8 that he recognised as a sign of annoyance, Ydrin entered the room.

Flickering his purple eyes around the room, he took in the image of a greasy looking Kath, Azure leaning against a nearby wall and the bashard that had just barged past him sitting at the table with his feet up. Finally his eyes landed on the captain. Bringing his right hand around until it was hovering in front of his right eye. Bowing low at the waist, Ydrin kept his eyes on Thorn while his right hand went out to his side. "C-capt-tain." Ydrin kept his greeting short as he righted his stance and brought both hands around to his front, the left holding a datapad.

"Humbled Tone: Greetings, Rank: Captain Name: Thorn. Comment: It is good to see you looking well. Query: You are well, are you not? Not jus-" Part way through what would have been a long and rambled greeting from Y8, Ydrin cut him of sharply. "Res-staining-g B-bolt." Immediately Y8 fell silent and his posture seemed to slump.

Turning back to the Captain, Ydrin spoke up again. "I-I'm no-ot intrud-ding on-n anyth-thing, a-am I, C-capt-tain?"

Lorane simply nodded to Kath and the captain, before the schutta D'Assad pushed him out of the way to kick his feet up onto the desk. Bastard. And then Ydrin came in. The ship's doctor who wasn't actually a doctor.
This was sort of the awkward moment where the Chiss realized that Zandra and Kath were the only two other people on the ship that he didn't have a problem with. Even Thorn was sort of unnecessarily aggressive, whereas Lorane was only necessarily aggressive.
So, he just sat back and ate, waiting for whatever it was Ydrin had to report. And possibly wondering how to throw D'Assad out an airlock.

"Sorry I'm late."

She wasn't really sorry. It was hard for Zandra to actually feel sorry about anything anymore. She stood in the door way, arms crossed in front of her. Her mechanical hand clenched the sleeves of the leather jacket she always wore- Cals old jacket.

"Was busy."

She didn't need to give an explanation. She was working. Doing her job. Checking the little things that the captain just didn't have time to do. If anyone doubted it, she'd punch them in the face with her metal hand until they stopped being stupid.

Kath blinked away the sleep in her eyes, and shook her head at @Thorn.
"No time, Cap'n. Gotta keep this ship from falling apart."
The engineer grew silent as more people crowded in, and went to lean against a wall.
Maybe there wasn't time to clean herself, but there was definitely time for her to stick around and see what happened.
This many pirates in one room usually led to interesting things.

Neshoba adjusted the engineer's cap and goggles on her head. She'd shifted into her fully humanoid form this morning just so her wolf ears wouldn't get in the way of her new hat. She was still having trouble picking clothes that looked decent together. She was never good with fashion. Right now, she was wearing a ripped pair of shorts and a shirt that only went to her belly button. Because she'd been helping/learning from [member="Kath"], Nesh was relatively dirty. She made sure to wash her hands before she showed up, though.
Nesh reached up and lightly knocked on the door of the captain's quarters three times. Hopefully she wasn't late for anything important.

Well it seemed like quite the party in his quarters. Rathe made a mental note o have Kath put a lock on his door later. The last thing he needed was anyone in the crew walking in on him while engaged in certain activities with the member of the opposite sex.

With all the people coming in at once Rathe just nodded to each as he drank his rum and some of the meat off the table. The most rewarding part was how many of them called him captain, and ironically how [member="Zandra Tal'verda"] did not. The woman kept to herself most of the time and that was fine. All eyes fell on him as the question posed in several different ways. What were they doing?

"We're headed to Nar Shaddaa for a few things. First we're running out of food. Second, we all know we stole a hunk of junk that's falling apart, and finally, some well deserved shore leave is in order. After that, we need to settle on a home outside the ship, and I have an idea."

Rathe unrolled an old set of schematics for a Hapan Battle Dragon and smiled.

"One of these. We can stay mobile so as no one know where we be hiding."

Lorane, of course being both a pragmatic drunk and one of the three people on the ship who actually sat down and looked at the insides of it, was the first to speak up about why the captain was frakking delirious, as far as he was concerned.
"You realize how much damage we'd have to do to actually capture a Dragon, right? Even hull-crackers will just vape themselves on that plating."
[member="Thorn"] [member='Kath'] [member='Ydrin'] [member='Zandra Tal'verda'] [member='Raphael d'Assad']

Zandra leaned heavily against the doorway while she listened. Battle dragon. Interesting. So Cap was thinkin' big. Zandra, despite herself, felt a ghost of a smile tug at her lips.

"I can be done," she offered with a little shrug, "If yer smart about it."

Doc was new to this. He didn't get the, oftentimes, peculiar way of thinking someone in her line of work had. 'Impossible' was not a word in her dictionary.

"I suppose you got a plan?" she asked, raising a white eyebrow at the captain.

No. She hadn't called him captain. Not out of any intentional disrespect, though. Zandra herself was just still used to being her own captain, having others listen to her. She had to constantly remind herself that this was not her ship, nor was this her crew.

As the captain unrolled the schematics, it piqued Raphael's interest enough to the point where he actually pulled his boots off the table and looked over what they had. It was a pretty mean looking ship, with plenty of room. He took another swig of rum, and took a minute to think. After thinking over the idea, he decided to speak. "I agree with the lady. It can be done, but it won't be easy. It'll be a dangerous task, with no small deal of danger involved. That being said, might be best if you stayed behind, eh doc?" It was a genuine thought, but he said it teasingly to get on the Chiss's nerves. He loved messing with people.

Neshoba wasn't the best with battle tactics. If anyone ever tried to teach her, she'd probably understand the basics enough to put her two cents into the conversation. But alas, that day was not today. She stood just behind [member="Ydrin"], Peering over his shoulder at what the others were currently looking at. She'd do her best to follow along now, and ask questions later.
