What news from the Mark? [Inger strömfire]

[member="Inger strömfire"]

"Sleep?", she laughed now. Of course it was needed and Aerin was laughing at her own eagerness to go. She was simply to excited to sleep but her Sister was right it is prudent to do so. "Sister take my bed and rest, I will be by the fire", she said moving over to it.

Aerin laid down on the large pelt that in front of the fire, the heat from the hearth more then enough to keep the cold at bay, but she knew she would not sleep and so rather then share the bed with Inger which was the way of Valkyri, she would only disturb her. She turned on her side and let her eyes dive into the embers, the throbbing energy within them setting her mind racing about the future .. what might come of her and Inger? Her sister had voiced her thoughts ago and Aerin knew she was of the same mind. Their destines are set elsewhere, but where? Only time will tell.

Before she realised it, Aerin had fallen asleep.

Giving her sweet smile, also giving a way to her sister thought about Sleep. Only to find herself not wanting to disagree upon the of her sister offering. Smiling upon her lips finding her way to the bed upon which many furs was piled upon it. To find herself looking even more to the wind as if she could see something be on the white mist that always blanket the lake at night, until the more light brought through the thick fog.
Sleep well, my fair Arin we need it for tomorrow hunt. it was what came to her in her dreams that puzzled her flashes of different creature or was it different spice of intellange beings. Shaknig awake from her own sweat. Only to find that moon was high upon the sky, few hours be dawn. Looking at the how the fire had died down. Raising up from her own warms to make sure her sister warm was keep. Putting a few more logs on as the cracking was taking place to feel the warmth coming back once again. As she gather the fur from the bed wrapping herself and her sister up in as she stared into the fire.

Her body sunk deep into the brown pelt on the floor, the fire enough to keep her warm through the night. But darkness plagued her dreams and visions of white beings gnarled and twisted ran through the recesses of her mind. Ripping and tearing at flesh, teeth gnashing with dripping mouths of blooded. The roar curdling the very soul of her. Aerin sat upright in a cold sweat, her breasts heaving with a laboured breath, her eyes widen with a lack of understanding of the visions. The wind bode ill, she remembered her own words.

Aerin turned her head to see her Sister awake, and wondered if she had seen the same. "Sister we must prepare for more then the winter's cold breath".

Her own eyes shot to her sister [member="Ærin Firebrand"] "I'm afraid what you speak is very true, my dear sister." as hard as it would be for her to amitt was right about one thing. Their world as they knew it was going to change just how or when or why. Only time could time. It wasn't until she had the fire going more then it had been. Looking at her sister in the eyes with her very deep blue eyes. "I had a dream of strange dark man." shaking her own head at the way her image came to her. "I feel that winter will last for a very long time." knowing how hard it was for to amitte this to her sister but it was true.

"Before the hard winter comes let us enjoy a hunt together sister like the old days", with a strong smile upon her lips.

Her face looked solemn after her Sister's words, she too knew thing are about to chance and nothing for the good of Midvinter. Dreams filled with white bodies laying in the snow, blood corrupting the pristine white virgin ice. Her blade dripping with the essence of life of another now dead on the ground but ... why? What was to come?

"We shall break fast on the road Inger, I have not the stomach for it this morning", she said in reply. In a bag she placed some cheeses and bread, milk and hot water for a brew. She dressed, her leather form fitting jacket buttoned up and over which now hung her bow and quiver. Around her waist her sword and dagger. Aerin walked to the hook on the wall and pulled her pelt down ready to leave.

The mood had shifted, and neither of them felt the pleasure of the trip, Aerin only hoped that would change with the aroma of the pine forests.

Nodding to her as she pack up the little that she brought to her. Finding herself able to move swiftly towards the goal of getting on the road. Looking out that one could see that maybe the peeking of what could be a sliver of dawn that wanted to break over the fog mist lake of theirs. Coming to the fact that it seem that her sister was almost ready herself, "Dear, sister of mine, we are ready for this adventure and feeling of our pantry before the long winter sets in."

"Yes Sister the sun will be climbing the sky soon and the mist burned, the night creatures will be a bed now". She said standing ready to leave with a smile on her face.

Aerin moved to the door and walked out onto the wooden pathway that lead down from the ridge. She took in a deep breath the early morning air crisp and invigorating to the senses. It would be a clear day for them and very well for hunting. Her cheeks began to flush with the cold vapor giving her a rosy glow. Aerin pulled up the hood of her pelt and put her hands in her deep pockets and started off. Inger not far behind her.

"Inger some fish would be nice for supper, you know I can not fish, I ask you to provide the bounty", she smiled at her. Aerin simply does not have the patience for the art.

Her boots crunched on the half frozen path, small pools of water iced over and snapped as her boots broke the thin ice. "It will be a long hard winter this season", she said more to herself, "And come the next full moon, riders will be aboard". What in the name of Midvinter made her say that?

Couldn't help but give herself a chuckle when spoke about fishing, "my dear sister, someday one must learn, never know when this will come in handing." , drinking in the crisp of the new dawn. Even the crunch upon their thick leather souls fur boots. As she let herself go along walking feeling where they could take a break she could go fish for their breakfast. "What was that of riders aboard" giving her sister a look.

"I say another hour will take us past Hairnty Lake, I remember the pikes being very good tasting," giving a way to a small smile.

"I like eating them .. not catching them", she smiled as Aerin has other prey on her mind. "Lets make haste to the lake .. ", her eyes lifted to the skies yes a nice day. But something whispered on the wind again, there is much that stirs in Midvinter and there is danger that will ride over the lands.

"Sister I think we need to prepare for more then just the harshness of the winter", now that they are out of the village Aerin felt more at ease to talk. Dealing with the villagers and their superstitions is one thing Aerin hates, labeled witch because of her abilities that even she does not know from where they come.

"Visions ... I am having them again. Pale riders, dangerous and murderous, I hear screams and blood but I see no faces just ... images of white and red". Her brow knitted more as she continued to walk. "I fear that I will soon take up my sword once more". A protector and shieldmaiden of Midvinter she is duty bound to do it.

Feeling her sister deep concern to what to come. It wasn't something lightly to brush off. Even when they was but a child this happen to them all the time. To the point that the first time a image came to. Put back of her mind, only to be face to face with their mother face death when one of the creature came upon the water path. Coming to the path just in time with the help of her sister to kill the beast.

"Ye sister vision has be in my dreams, ones that I care not wish to close my eyes to see again of a tall dark stranger."

As got along until they got to the path upon which would take the winding path downwards to the lake that was hidden lake below. As the came into the breath taking view. All her eyes could dance upon the frosty lake. Coming to the path that would lend them down. "My bow will be close to your sword, my sister"

Aerin's head turned to look at her sister, her eyes narrowed as she spoke of visions too. "Tell me of this dark stranger Inger, any detail might help if they come to pass". Following her Sister down the paths to the lake. The ice enclosed the waters and would have to be broken to fish. However, Aerin stood tall stretching her long back to the full and taking in a deep breath of the crisp air. She pushed back her hood and let the air dance on her skin invigorating her.

Fishing is her Sister's forte, and she would Inger to decide on the location for the break ice. "I shall prepare us some food", she turned to unpack her bag.

Shaking her head, "No, I do not its just shadows that fade in and out that is all, no face." , her eyes look out across the frozen lake. Setting her eyes upon the goal that was to get to a place that the fishing was good.

Flowing up which came up to another part as she let herself close her eyes. It was always the whisper in the winds she felt from the Gods that told. Walking out slowly to find herself look up at a rock ledge. Finding herself look down at the eyes. Feeling that there was life below her feet now to get to it. With her bow, that had two star saw blades she begin to chip way. It would take a good while with her strong endures playing a part in her.

Looking down with in the hole made all that was left was to get the fish to come to her. That she reached into one of her many pouches, bring out dried piece of what could only be blood stew jerky. Starting to break off piece until she could see the fish coming to the surface with there mouth wide open. "May the Gods bless this harvet." striking true and fast. As she did getting fish off her three fork spear. Then over and over, with in her furs could feel the warmth coming from her muscles.

Before long she was coming off the lake to take off her still spikes shoes, to a string of fish, before her sister. It had be a joy alone she like to keep now days. No only for the sake of the vision she was having. It was a way to protect herself from having harm do to her every again. "Look sister the Gods has blessed us greatly."

She had managed to find some dried wood, and started a fire on the edge of the lake. Aerin had set the water to boil and broke the bread. Her head turned and she smiled as she watched her Sister's excellence of fishing, something that simply escaped Aerin.

Dropping a hand full of leaves into the boiling water, Aerin stirred the brew, the aroma of the tea and the steam thick with the cold air played upon her face and moisten her skin, she took in a deep breath to savor the scent. Two wooden cups rested in the snow neaby as one by one she filled them with the drew. She stood as Inger returned with the catch and she held out her cup.

One of the many things the Sister do clash on are the Gods. Aerin a non believer in them, she see no evidence in the world of their handy work rather believing in each individuals divinity, more then any anything a deity would create. But she will not comment but rather she smiled and nodded.

"And thanks to your skills", she said as she looked at the fish.
