Darkness. Odin was familiar with it. His time among the Jedi, and his seclusion as a monk, had not guarded him from the evils of the world. He faced them. His duty was to rid the galaxy of what he could, and in order to do that, he needed to understand it. Darkness was not simply darkness. There were complexities to it. Nuance and shadow made it hard to detect at times. Not everything was overtly evil, and while the monk had wished everything was as simple a matter as light and dark he often found the galaxy was gray.
This did not mean he accepted it.
Darkness corrupted whatever it touched, and the light healed what the darkness destroyed. This was the path he had chosen to walk. Odin was a light bearer, a carrier of the cure the galaxy needed.
He was a lone.
The trip to Ambria was like any other pilgrimage he had taken. The Force Nexus which was at the center of the planet was not one any would miss. The Vessel of Bogan was a large tower which had taken over three centuries to construct. It was a marvel of engineering and a archeological wonder. There were several reasons for Odin's interest. What drew him most was the way in which is was powered. It was said the tower had been powered by the fear and pain of the slaves which had been used to construct it. His mind was curious as to how one would bind such emotion and feeling to an object.
Odin was familiar with ways he could project the light and the peace he carried within, but to bind and emotion to a thing was... different.
His walking staff clicked against the stone as the darkness of the place washed over him. He could feel its presence, the fear and suffering which had been caused so long ago. As though the slaves still lived, he could sense their cries of anguish and pleas for freedom as his calloused hand pressed against cold stone.
He wept.
There was nothing he could do to save them the pain, but perhaps there would be a way to loose what had been bound to the tower itself. This was his purpose.
