I wrote a song that will factor into my character's backstory, it is mainly inspired by the song "The Battle of New Orleans" by Johnny Horton, and I would love to hear people's feedback on it.
Translation: Give me positive reinforcement, please. (JK)
Ok, here goes:

In 858 the Kigacons were on the move
Their troops moved with a war-marchin’ groove
Their leader, the Duke went with pride and an ego
He was sure to be the Kigacon to burn Bordino!
When they marched up to our little village they said
Surrender now or y’all wind up dead
We stood beside our brothers and we didn’t say a thing
And that was when the battle kicked into full-swing!

They swung their swords and they charged in
Hoping that their god would forgive our sin
We pushed back and they began a runnin
But they came back even more gunnin’
We knew this wouldn’t be an easy victory for sure!

They outnumbered us ten to one
Elite troops vs men from the slums
There musta been a hundred of them beating on the drums
But we held firm and let them know that Bordino wasn’t done!

They swung their swords and they charged in
Hoping that their god would forgive our sin
We pushed back and they began a runnin
But they came back even more gunnin’
We knew this wouldn’t be an easy victory for sure!

We began to retreat and one of the men said
“Maybe they was right, we really are going to all end up dead!”
Then came another voice, that of Captain O’Leary,
“I have a plan, our bodies today they will not bury!”

They swung their swords and they charged in
Hoping that their god would forgive our sin
We pushed back and they began a runnin
But they came back even more gunnin’
We knew this wouldn’t be an easy victory for sure!

We came to an old citadel and I said
“Captain O’Leary, how will this help us not wind up dead?”
He looked and me and smiled and he simply said
“Better defensive positions! Now the Kigacon we will shred!”

They swung their swords and they charged in
Hoping that their god would forgive our sin
But this time our spirits and weapons held true
After the carnage the Duke and his men withdrew!

We held our ground, our courage could not be matched
And to think that we had thought our hopes of victory had been dashed
The Kigagons then began a runnin
Up from Bordino all the way down the river Vell
Because we had given them a healthy heapin’ o’hell!

They swung their swords and they charged in
Hoping that their god would forgive our sin
But this time our spirits and weapons held true
After the carnage the Duke and his men withdrew!
