What Big Eyes You Have

The air was chill and with each exhalation her breath hung before her, catching the pale light of the moons above. Dressed in tattered jeans that sat low upon her waist, boots, and a shirt that didn't quite reach her mid-drift it was clear that Anwen was out of her element. However, the chill in the air didn't seem to bother the petite girl in the slightest as she moved through the dark forest. Winter was slowly setting in, but despite the bite in the air the night was still alive with the cries of various beasts.

Every now and then the tiny redhead would stop to listen, her head quizzically tilting to the side as her sapphire eyes studied the wilderness around her. Her movement through the forest was not silent, but even if she had been moving without a silent anyone wishing to track her would have been able to do so as her aura shone as bright as the planets sun; she was forever to be a beacon within the long night. Leaves and twigs crunched beneath her boot with each step, until she finally stepped from the forest and onto a large plain.

The grass was dead or dying, but her steps became almost silent as she moved out into the open. With a soft smile upon her lips she continued her seemingly aimless trek, stopping when she reached an area that was mostly sparse of grass. She stood motionless for a long time, her bright eyes scanning the area for a moment before she closed her eyes and bowed her head.

Ral had been dispatched to Kafane to scour the planet for various useful resources that could prove beneficial to the Empire. His ship, the Obsidian Fang, cam swooping down onto the surface. The wind produced by the ship's engines blew wildly for a few meters. Ral made his way from the command bridge onto he planet's surface after equipping his signature black and silver armor, royal vibrorapier, and blaster rifle. The grass under the Blackblade Captain's claws crunched lightly from his weight and his fur lightly rustled in the small breeze. He began his search by heading north from his position, towards a somewhat dense forest.

Ral was on all fours when he reached the forest and then climbed up the tallest tree his canine eyes could find. From there, he scouted the area for any form of rock formation or village he could begin harvesting. After finding nothing, he leaped from tree to tree until something intrigued one of his heightened senses. The many forest creatures ran from this massive beast tearing through the forest. Each jumped was followed by a low growl and a snap as branches fell from the trees.

She was floating upon the currents of the Force, her aura pulsing in time with her slow rhythmic heartbeat. As she found her center, the soothing sounds of the night suddenly ceased and the silence pressed in upon her in warning. Bright eyes fluttered open and she tilted her head to the side, listening. The very planet seemed to hold its breath as something tugged at her senses, urging her to be ready.

Brow furrowed in thought she turned about in place, a soft breeze causing a few wayward strands of her hair to dance across her face. Brushing the soft strands aside she waited, her bright eyes scanning the tree line as she waited for the approaching threat.

Ral ripped through the foliage with ease, his claws gripping and tearing at the bark of the trees. This massive black figure moved through the woods with ease. A few kilometers through the forest, Ral had sensed something. He could sense a massive source of power, force power at that. He immediately stopped his charge and headed straight for the beacon of power. His growling grew louder and eventually turned into roaring as he came closer and closer to the source.

Ral stood in the darkness of the woods, watching what seemed to be a person, alone in a field. His arctic blue eyes scouted his target as it sat there, unguarded and unprepared. He growled as saliva dripped from his maw and plopped on the ground in a puddle of his DNA. Ral leaped from the forest towards the being at incredible speed to about a few meters away from whoever it was. He roared with such an intensity, all birds within a kilometer radius flew off into the indigo night sky.

Spittle hit her face and her eyes fluttered closed as the rank breath of the creature sent her hair flying over her shoulders. Reaching up one small hand she wiped the beasts saliva from her face as a frown settled upon her features. Gross. Where the beast had come from was beyond her, however, her bright eyes didn't miss the fact that he was armed which clearly indicated he was sentient. Fear should have sent her into pack pedaling from the hulking man-beast, however, fear was something she would never know.

She tilted her head back just a bit, studying the creature for just a moment, before finally reacting to his threat. She was not a violent person, but she was a Talith and she would not be pushed around. Inhaling her chest expanded as she adjusted her stance, the muscles in her arms, shoulders, and neck flexing. With a ferocity all of her own she 'roared' back at the beast, flames simultaneously erupting from her exposed skin. The flames danced across the exposed skin of her arms, but they did not burn and the heat didn't seem to bother her in the slightest. The flames flared a bright orange before settling into a light pink hue.

After his ferocious roar, Ral sat there in front of the woman panting heavily. His eyes shined brighter in the light of the massive moon overhead. Internal growling accompanied each breath as Ral stared down the young girl. She spoke one word but it was softly spoken and had an ounce of innocence. Was she a native? Impossible. There wasn't a human town anywhere near there. He went to his next conclusion that she was from off-world. The next question would be: why is she here? While many thoughts ran through his head, the girl began to move. She had unleashed a beastial-ish roar back at Ral. No one had ever stood up to him in such a way, especially not a woman. Ral then rose up to 2 feet. His size was staggering compared to the young human and his silvery armor shined in the moonlight. Then, she began to engulf in flames. Ral's intrigue in the girl grew larger by the second.

The beast made no real reaction to her own roar or the flames that now danced across her arms, but she hoped that he understood she was not to be toyed with. The muscles along her arms, shoulders, and neck relaxed as she took the smallest of steps back from the creature, her head tilted back so she could hold his gaze. He was well over a foot taller than her, but the difference in height meant nothing to her as everyone seemed to be much larger than her. Not saying a word she continued to stare up at the beast, her flames dying down just a bit as she waited for his next move.

Ral looked down at the girl. Her abilities were very peculiar for Ral had seen nothing like it before. His growling turned into slow breathing. This girl seemed to be no threat or else she would've struck first. "What.." Ral shook his head a little "WHO are you? What are you doing here? Not a safe place to be right now. Leave." Ral growled with his arctic eyes directed right into hers.

"No."

She frowned up at the beast, head still tilted to the side. She was not a fan of being told what to do, especially by a creature who had seen fit to roar in her face. She was not a child and she would not be treated as such. Her aura pulsed as her flames grew in intensity once more, a smile finding its way to her lips. "Anwen and I can take care of myself." Her eldest brother had warned her against revealing her identity so easily so instead she only gave him part of her name, but left out the rest concerning why she was in the area.

Ral snarled at the frail female. "You..you really should not be here. At least not now. I suggest you leave before things turn..bloody." Ral turned his back to the girl and began to slowly walk off on all fours. For what he had planned for the planet would not be pleasant. Especially not for the young woman."

Frowning Anwen watched the massive beast go, only thinking to call after him once he was nearly out of ear shot. "I can take care of myself!" With that she turned and moved in the opposite direction, she still had ever intention of practicing with her flames upon the planet.
