What a hunk of Junk....(Open)

Spaceport of some Backwater Planet

A sigh escaped Kalia's lips as she took a step back to look at Firefly. It had barely gotten her to this planet and she knew that it was not going to be getting her off of it. Really she ought to get a new ship but she couldn't bare to part with her current one. It held sentimental value to her and really all Firefly needed was a tune up and a new engine. She would run just like new than hopefully. Before she wandered off to find parts she wanted to take a closer peak and make sure nothing else was in need of repairing.

The planet she landed on was foreign to her but that wasn't a problem Kalia had been taught how to handle herself in all different situations. Kalia was mostly hoping that there was a reasonable repair shop nearby that had what she was looking for. As long as she had the parts she could fix it which was great seeing as she didn't like anybody else touching her ship. The skills she learned amongst the smugglers really came in handy somedays.

Crossing her arms Kalia took a walk around the ship to see if there was any visible damage. She wasn't really worried about the little scratch here or there. That was normal on Firefly plus their were a lot of them. Dressed in jeans and a plain blue t-shirt she looked nothing liked the Jedi Master that she was and more like just a normal woman with a broken ship. On her hip hung her blaster and in her boot lay her lightsaber which she rarely used. Hands on her hips she sighed once again shaking her head. By the looks of things she was going to be stuck here awhile.

"Well if you don't allow strills, then you should have a shabla sign out you dikut!"

Kote stormed out of the transit station with his strill solus following closely behind. Solus' natural musk was very pungent to most species except female humans. Even so, it wasn't often someone argued with him about Solus. Kote's white Mandalorian armor gave him a large frame, and the T-shaped visor usually reminded people Mando's weren't just imaginary. His Verpine scatter shot was slung to his back and swayed slightly with him when he walked.

Kote looked around for some form of transport. Although he and Slous were brought here on a public freight, it was evident that not all drivers were human females who couldn't smell the strill. There wasn't a whole lot to the spaceport anyway. There were a few fueling stations, some rest spots for tired spacers, and a transit station that couldn't look past it's own nose in the middle of nowhere that didn't allow strills!

He took a breath and looked for Solus. He wasn't behind him like normal. Kote looked around for only a moment before seeing a light trail of drool on the permacrete floor. He followed it only shortly before finding the six legged creature snuffling along toward a plainly dressed woman. Solus' loose skin was all pressed against the floor as he slowly made his way toward her. Something smelled strange or good to him. Kote walked after Solus, maybe he could get a ride from this woman. She may have a larger ship that could fit all three of them.

Just as she was getting ready to get her tools from inside her ship she could smell something. It wasn't too strong but enough to make her turn around and see what it was. Kalia was half human and half Echani so while she could smell the strill it really wasn't that bad. The smell nor the creature herself wasn't what worried her it was that normally came with it that did. Kalia wasn't looking for any trouble here. She was just looking to fix Firefly and be on her way.

Turning the rest of the way around her glance went from the strill to the Mandalorian a couple feet behind him. "I think he likes me," Kalia grinned uncrossing her arms letting them hang loose by her side. She wasn't going to automatically pull out a blaster or saber on him even though a part of her kind of wanted to. As a young girl, before joining the Jedi, she had run into bounty hunters. Things hadn't gone very smoothly as her smuggler friends had ended up captured in end as they tried to keep her safe. This was different though, she had grown up and had learn to use her words first besides he wasn't here looking for her. The smugglers she grew up with had been wanted men she on the other hand couldn't possibly have a bounty on her head.

"My ship broke down and I luckily made it here. Wherever here is and now I'm trying to fix her up. You don't happen to know where I could find parts do you?" Kalia had always been good at making conversation with others despite the situation. Most people found her very friendly and personable.

"Erm, it. It likes you. Solus here is hermaphroditic so I can't really put a gender on it."

Kote strolled up to the spacer calmly. She only had basic clothes on, but sometimes that meant disguise. Whether it did or not, it wouldn't matter. Not much penetrated old fashioned beskar gam. He felt calm, but only because Solus hadn't smelled anything too dangerous on her. In fact, it had smelled something it liked. May have been the woman, may have been something in her pocket. Solus had sat right in front of her tail thumping the ground happily with a dumb smile showing it's sharp fangs. A thick trail of drool dripped from its maw onto the ground. Utterly repulsive, yet adorable to Kote and he smiled within the safety of his helmet.

Kote was a little disheartened to hear she didn't have transport fr them, in fact, she was looking for help as well. She didn't raise a blaster to Solus so that was decent enough. Parts though, Kote hadn't the faintest idea of where to get parts for a ship here. "I dunno where you're gonna find parts out here. I'd suggest asking in that transit station back there." He jerked his thumb behind him in the direction of the building. "But that would give more business to strill hating bigots!" He had turned around and shouted at the building as if it would change its mind just from that. He turned back around.

"Sorry, I'm rather protective of Solus. Not many of its kind left. Anyway, I figure that if I were to help find some parts for this ship o' yours, maybe you could give me and my furry friend a ride?" His voice didn't give emotion, but he was silently pleading she would agree. He had no clue how long he would be here, and was ready to leave at any second.

"I have some crackers in my ship. You think Solus would like those?" She had no food presently on her and if she was going to get something she wanted to ask if it was alright first as she had no idea what strill's ate. She would hate to make the Mando's pet sick or something especially when she was trying to be nice. The only thing she had were her weapons which seemed to not alarm the strill which was a good sign.

"It's alright, I understand I am protective of the people I care about too. There is nothing wrong with that." If they were going to find parts though that might be the first place they would need to check out. She could go in while he waited outside or something. Kalia didn't want to wander around aimlessly as she wanted off this planet just as much as he did. "Deal, I'll take you guys anywhere you want to go. I'm Kalia it's nice to meet you," she smiled holding out her hand for him to shake. Yes, she was planning to work with him because honestly right now there was no other choice and she rather make a friend than an enemy.

"What do you know about fixing ships? I was going to check her out first before going to ensure we get everything that we need. I would hate to miss something because I was lazy." Kalia sure hoped he could help her put Firefly back together again not that she needed the help but two heads were better than one.

Solus stopped thumping its tail at the mention of the crackers. It stood up and began sniffing around once again stopping only for a small can where it marked its territory.
"Guess not the crackers then." Kote laughed slightly when he said the words.

He extended his own gloved hand to the woman and gripped her below the elbow. "Sorry, Mando handshake. Just reflex I suppose." Once he had pulled back his hand he reached down to pat Solus who had taken its place by his side again. "If you want to try the transit station for parts be my guest, I apparently 'reek' of strill so the management and I had a problem. In case you didn't know, strills stink to everyone except for ladies such as yourself." Kote gestured at her as he said it. She had wanted help, so he'd give it to her. If it was in the form of protection or, 'negotiations' for cheaper parts so be it. He was honestly impressed that she had acted so nonchalantly at the sight of him. Normally when he walked up to people they at least got quieter. There weren't many white Mandos out there.

"When it comes to fixing ships, I can do a little more than the average man. My clan owned a speeder shop, so I feel I know my way around an engine. Mind you, I can't make it better, just flyable." Where they were going to get parts for it was a different story all together. Alot of ships landed here, so there should be some kind of repair shop.

"I have cookies and other stuff. I will find something Solus likes. It's my second mission after fixing Firefly." This type of thing happened often to her but it was only because she flat out refused to get a new ship. She loved her old one and it meant so much to her. Kalia couldn't just let it go after all these years even if it was nothing but a headache now-a-days. Perhaps she needed to go on leave for awhile to spruce up her ride and upgrade everything. First though she needed to get off this rock with her new Mando friend.

"That's wonderful," she smiled clapping her hands together. "All we need is for it to be flyable in order to get off this planet. I can work on making it better later. I am always fixing up Firefly but this is the worst it has ever gotten. I think by putting our heads together we can make this thing fly again." How lucky had she gotten that someone who knew a thing or two about mechanics had found her not that she needed help but it was nice to have it. She just hoped this thing was not beyond repair.

"The transit station probably could point us in the right direction or in the wrong one depending how they feel. I have had issues on a few on other planets. What if we walked around the port. There has got to be one right under our noses after all we can't be the only ones needing parts." If all else failed she could "borrow" some from another ship docked here. Kalia really rather not do that though.

"Taking a look around couldn't hurt. If you want to check the transit station that'll be fine by me. I suppose me and Solus could wander about looking for some locals to help out with a location or some 'donated' parts. What's specifically wrong with the Firefly?" Kote bent sideways looking at it. He blinked a few times for his helmet HUD to bring up models similar to the Firefly. Specific parts were going to be hard to find here but improvisations were always an option.

"It's hard to tell without getting a closer look. My navcomputers are not working as they should but it was fine because I was still able to fly. I know I blew at least one of the engines, the hyperdrive isn't working the last time I checked oh and earlier I put out a fire in the cabin but other than that everything is just peachy," she grinned. "It's a really old ship like 20 years old so I'm not even sure if its repairable. It's worth a try though I think." The thing was a wreak which meant they may never get off planet.

She figured that when he said donated parts that he meant just taking them as well. That wasn't anything that she wasn't used to. Sometimes you just needed to do what you needed to do. "That works for me but I honestly don't think anybody will have parts I need or will work. I'm sure management at the shop will like me."

"Seems like quite a bit of maintenance, I'll take a look inside and see if anything's diagnosable." Kote bent down and looked into the engine of the ship. She was right, the engines were scrapped. One of them was most certainly fried, while another seemed ready to light aflame at any time. He got up and looked at her. He felt hopeless. if they could get this thing runnning again would be a miracle. The odds that this place would have an entire engine, or enough parts to make one was entirely unlikely. If his face wasn't covered by the snow white helmet, she would have seen his dismay,

"Well, quite a bit will have to be done. Starting with the engines will be an easy place to start."

"It is and now that I think about it, It might be best to just sell it for parts and get something new. It honestly might be cheaper for me and oh safer in the long run. You know the last thing we need is to burn up in space or something." Sighing she looked to her ship. Kalia didn't want to admit it but Firefly may be toast here but she didn't really want to give up on her. It may be the only way to get off of this bloody planet to find something new. "I'm willing to try though and repair it or even upgrade it as those might be the only parts we are able to find." She didn't want to give up on Firefly but it may be their best bet to get off this rock. No matter what they did they were going to need to find parts.

"Perhaps we could find a repair shop and go from there? What they have to offer depends on what we are able to do. It's possible they will have some tips for us as well or ideas. We should get going as I forsee this taking us a really long time." It would be easier to just take a ship and run but Kalia of course knew better than to do that she had morals or something. She was glad that at least the ship had a spare room as something told her they would need it.

"Well, let's go shall we? Don't want to waste too much time chatting about it. Whether you plan to sell it or not, we still need to find some shop for the transactions."

Kote turned and motioned for Solus to follow, it did without hesitation. They walked by several small buildings each selling miscellaneous goods. Parts were in high demand, just not ship parts it seemed. There was only a store selling used ships, maybe they could get parts from there. He had just spotted it when a pair of shifty men walked up to them.

"Nice dog, the gun's pretty nice too." "Yea...Who's your friend here? She looks nice."
Kote was only mildly irritated at the two. They couldn't really do much to a Mando.
