AND THE BRYN'ADUL WILL PAY FOR IT!

Anthem
Theed, Naboo
Office of the Grand Marshal of Naval Command
Confederacy of Independent Systems

Amelia stood silently before a slowly pulsing map of the known Galaxy, her attention carefully going over each detail. Since the meetings with the Vicelord and the Exarch to determine the individual that would potentially become the next Minister of War - her mind had been set ablaze with a myriad of ideas and thoughts - though she had not yet put any of them to exist beyond their place within her mind. It was an idea that had come up before, a momentary spark of inspiration when she had previously been starting at the map while she was residing in the temporary office prior to the completion of her current fief within the hallowed halls of Anthem - nestled beneath the lake that the city of Theed nestled against. She was rather fond of the new location - and the small sitting room outside constructed in a similar manner to that of the Gungan cities was a rather nice touch that she enjoyed. It meant that now, even with the sun sitting high in the sky, she could still enjoy a bit of time outside without worry of the unsightly blistering that the ultraviolet rays would have upon her rather fair complexion - not to mention the simple fact that such rays were deadly to her species.

Either way, she was finding herself growing more accustomed to the current officer in which she was now residing, and had already moved a great deal of her personal effects into the office to make it more - 'Her'. Bringing a long-stemmed glass up to her lips, she carefully sipped the sanguine liquid that rests within the drinking vessel - a soft sigh of contentment slipping from her lips as she slowly brought the glass down to rest upon the table. Leaning forward just ever so slightly, she began to manipulate the map, pulling up the area that had - for as long as any could remember - been proclaimed as Hutt Space. She understood that the Confederacy's current attention was Southward - their attention having fallen upon the former holdings of the now-defunct Outer Planets Alliance - and seeking to bring those systems into the fold before another threat could grow in the power vacuum that had formed in the region.

However, there was still a greater threat - or, at the very least, she viewed it as such - that had found their way into the Eastern Regions of the galaxy, having burrowed into the systems in that region and decimating countless trillions of innocent lives in a vast campaign of terraforming worlds to suit their monstrous needs and creations. It was only a matter of time before the Bryn'adul decided to turn their attention towards the Confederacy - and though she staunchly believed in their current Confederacy First Mandate - there was only so much they would be capable of doing if they did not have any allies or room to breathe in the event that the Bryn'adul turned towards them. Strange times seemed to call for stranger actions - rather apparent and apt given the simple fact that the Confederacy, Silver Jedi, and the Sith had found some common ground to work together in dealing with an Imperial threat that had also arise near the Core Worlds.

Still, that was a conflict she had chosen not to step into - having become tired of such campaigns in the wake of the Rodia and Ryloth invasions barely a scant half-year prior. For the moment her attention would be on this - a new pet plan - one which she decided merited in some means, to be looked over by those that controlled and guided the Confederacy to a greater effect than a mere Grand Marshal was capable. Steeling herself to the idea, she nodded - though it was more as a means to further focus herself and set her mind on the task at hand as she began to furiously take notes - all the while the large holographic map of the Galaxy pulsed and ebbed in the center of the room. The woman's attention fully upon it as she carefully looked over Hutt Space.

There was little room to grow - with the Silver Concord having already secured the Nal Hutta System and a great number of the Northern Systems in Hutt Space - still - there was enough to provide the Confederacy a sizeable, if modest, means to secure an additional frontier region. It was to serve as a buffer zone - an area in which the Confederacy could operate with near impunity to ensure that in the event the Bryn'adul turned their attention further south, they would have some manner of time to stave off the Horde of Locusts. Though the overall plan wasn't one to merely just pull worlds into the Confederacy to serve as sacrificial pawns - it was much more than that. She sought to fortify the systems, to turn each system into a bulwark that would cause any attacker to pay dearly to take and hold the region. Once she complied her notes, she took a moment to review them before returning to her desk.

"Now the real work begins".

Amelia spoke to herself as she permitted a momentary sigh to slip from her lips. It was fortuitous then that she had brought not only her drinking vessel to her desk - the carafe had found its way perched upon the far corner, waiting in the wings. Pulling the drinking vessel to her lips, she slowly sipped upon the drink, the sanguine liquid slipping over her tongue and imparting its flavor upon her tastebuds - only to then, in turn, slip down her throat as though a river culminating in a cascading waterfall. Golden-yellow hues focused upon the monitor before her as slender fingers slipped over the keyboard, gracefully dancing across it as she began to type up the proposal.

To: Vicelord Darth Metus Darth Metus , and Exarch Adron Malvern Adron Malvern
CC: The Office of the Minister of War, The Presidium
From: Grand Marshal Amelia von Sorenn, Naval Command

Subject: Hutt 'Free Marches' Proposal

"Gentlebeings, in this, trying and tumultuous times, the Confederacy of Independent Systems finds itself in a unique position upon the Galactic Stage - one in which we see the potential for exponential growth with the unfortunate loss of the Outer Planets Alliance some months prior. However, it should be noted, that there is still a greater threat to the safety and security of our citizens than bandits, pirates, and petty regional warlords to the South and West in the former OPA holdings. Nestled in the Eastern region of the Galaxy - consuming System after System like unchecked cancer - is a monstrous horde of creatures calling themselves, the Bryn'adul. In more recent months, reports indicate that they have consumed a great deal of biological mass - terraforming systems to suit their needs and driving before them a genocidal campaign to further expand upon their territory. At this moment, their borders bring them in close contact with the Silver Concord and the Sith Empire - however, I fear, that it may only be a matter of time before they turn their sight upon the unclaimed systems of Hutt Space in a bid to draw nearer to the Confederacy.

My proposal is thus - we act before the Bryn'adul gain any form of momentum in the Region. We momentarily turn our attention and efforts to securing a number of systems within Hutt Space, to be organized into the Hutt Free Marches - a bulwark to protect the Core of the Confederacy against the Bryn'adul. This plan would see a marked increase in military expenditure - with additional systems, planetary defenses, and stations being installed to further stem the tide of the ravaging horde that crawls across the galaxy. Where-as the Silver Concord have already secured the ancient Hutt Worlds of Nal Hutta and Nar Shaddaa - the proposed Hutt Free Marches would largely consist of those systems in the Southern Region of Hutt Space - specifically the following Systems:

Near Pando and Far Pando, Xolu and Unagin, Nar Kaaga, Arami and Gamorr, Syvris, and Hollastin. The following systems - Nooli, Dohlban, and Shiffrin - should also be secured to provide a secured anchoring point for further expansion into the proposed region. It should also be noted that those systems that border the Wild Space Region - as an added measure of protection - should be considered for membership within the Confederacy of Independent Systems.

Signed,

Grand Marshal Amelia von Sorenn"

As Amelia sat there, golden-yellow hues upon the screen, she carefully read over the proposal - she was never really one for words save for a few speeches here and there - finding her finger hovering over the selection to send the message. Was it the right thing though? She could never tell just how the Viceroyalty would react - let alone how the Vicelord and Exarch would see this message. Was she overstepping her bounds? She questioned all this and more as she sat there - her attention still fully upon the screen - though second-guessing herself as she remained hesitant to send the message.
