Public Welcome to Sun Turn (Kattada)

And a touch of the blues
A trip home. One of the issues that Vodet had with the Jedi Order was that it pulled him to Naboo, understandably, for some big reasons. And he was a Council member, a position he enjoyed. He was able to help support the Order and the Wayseekers in finding their way. But most importantly, he visited the outlying Enclaves and presented their pleas to the Council. He was chief of the Kattada Enclave, and drastically missed the seaspray of that Enclave when he was away.

Luckily the holonet provided him some leave and he was able to work ‘remote’ as the youths said. And the large turtle was home, home for one of the holidays that the Blue Coral Divers, and as a result Enclave and local communities celebrated. They called it Sun Turn, and it represented the position where the world was turning to full summer. Kattada had a more tropical lean to it, truth be told, but even within that, there was a dormant period even on a world such as this.

The celebrations were vast, many of the off-world explorers returned, and there were calls out to other Enclaves.

Come to Kattada,
Witness Sun Turn
Bask in the joy of life and light

An invite that included harvest festivals, lessons of Force talents in the way of wayfinding, psychometry, healing, and a bit of a free week for an airspeeder race. Not as vicious as the podraces, more akin to the sunjammers, but it was only one item for this festival.

Welcome to the Festival of Sun Turn. The Jedi Enclave at Kattada welcomes all comers for some sun, sand, racing, and fresh food. Visit the stalls run by locals, and off-world traders, come learn from the Enclaves teachers, or participate in some speed trials in any airspeeder of your choice.

All are welcome, but make it peaceful.

Jared was glad to be returning. It may not be home in the most strict sense, but it was time to come back and visit, check in, and trade some stories. Plus, and this was the most important part. There was the Sun Turn speed trials. Floating transport rings, used to help identify course of action, and to provide a bit of a check point on the pilot, were distributed around one of the mid-depth water observation platforms, formerly used to harvest crude elements from the sea floor, and now providing the world with a deeper operating platform for reef and deep sea vegetation planting and sustainable harvesting.

But this week? It was set up for observing, launching, and the repair of airspeeders competing in time trials and head to head races. That was the real reason Jared had returned.

His Manta airspeeder was kept here and he had some more credits to dump into its engines and maneuvering hardware. A few hours to put in the wrench time and he was ready to go.

A leaderboard was up. And Jared was hoping to make it to it.

The lights ahead of him blinked.

Red.

Red.

Green.

The dark blue and yellow airspeeder thursters kicked in. And Jared had a time to make.

Simple rules for time trials. If we have enough racers. Make some rolls. Whoever gets to 100 with d20 roles first wins. Then second and so on.
