The Golden Rule
Continued from Walk With Me
Fort Medina, Klatooine
The current weather was a scorching 37 degrees celsius, but Arisa remained cool within the depths of the subterranean base, on her way to the cafeteria. Cadets, soldiers, and contractors filled all the halls on their way to classes or back up topside to face hellish ordeals of the surface as they continued their grueling training regime for a coveted slot within special operations command.
She blended in well with the crowd, the Jedi looking just like another contractor in her simple casual wear of boots, khakis, and a loose fitting navy tee. That's the way she preferred it, not trying to draw attention to herself by waltzing around in robes. Once, Jedi had worn them as a gesture of humility, but these days their only function seemed to be to draw a nice big target on their back.
The halls became increasingly busy as she approached the doors of the cafeteria, the morning crowds still making their rounds. She'd find herself in wait at a line that stretched down the hall that immediately led inside. The air was filled with loud chatter and savory aromas of all sorts of breakfast food.
It was a good thing that she had found Rakieh before she had set off for the day, so they could both be seated at the same time as they ate.
"Hmm, looks like I didn't pick quite the right time to get her," she admitted to Rakieh as she turned back to speak with him. "I suppose we'll just have to try to get here earlier next time."
If she wanted, she could have skipped all the lines due to her status, but she didn't like pulling rank like that and set a bad example, especially not in the midst of a prospective apprentice. Abuse of her powers would only go on to breed resentment within her peers, which would hurt the organization as a whole. Being good and responsible wasn't just an objective to achieve in itself, but to promote harmony for order and productivity.
