SPECIAL FEATURES
  • Sleek design and minimal weight make the device perfect for integration into powered armor suits and similar apparatus, or, when worn as a stand-alone device, allows for comfortable long-term wear and use.
  • Stealthy design couples with natural stealth capabilities inherent to repulsorlifts, making the “Weiland” a quick, nimble, and exceptionally hard-to-detect device that dramatically increases a user’s capabilities.
  • All-terrain repulsorlift engine is capable of crossing water, ice, sand, and other surfaces easily, aided by integrated terrain-following sensors to avoid obstacles and negotiate through tight spaces almost thoughtlessly.
  • The “Weiland” is well-protected against small arms fire and even against Ion/EMP/Radiation damage, making it ideally-suited to use on the battlefield.
STRENGTHS
  • Limitless Power: Repulsor packs are more efficient than standard jet packs, using bare-minimal power and capable of near-continuous, sustained flight barring damage or disfunction, so long as power supplies hold.
  • Pack Be Nimble: Retractable repulsor boosters not only increase speed, but they increase maneuverability dramatically, allowing users to execute aerial acrobatics such as barrel-rolls, hairpin turns, and more. This is even more enhanced by integrated terrain-sensors, enabling users to avoid obstacles more ably.
  • Pack Be Quick: The “Weiland” is roughly 16% faster than most other conventional jet packs, giving that extra burst of speed that can make all the difference between life and death.
  • Shhhhhhh: Repulsor packs are innately quiet, and leave virtually no trace as to their use and passing. No chemical or heat signatures, ion trails, or other tell-tale signs sometimes used to detect aircraft, making it perfect for that sneaky ‘in-and-out’ mission. Coupled with stealth-enhancing and signature masking materials, inherent low-power signatures, and impressive evasion and maneuvering capabilities, it becomes downright ‘perfect’ for those kinds of jobs.
WEAKNESSES
  • For Want of a Well: Repulsorlift engines only work inside of a gravity well, and therefore the “Weiland” is of little to no use in the depth of space, except maybe and only within some form of celestial or artificial gravity well which might be found there.
  • Nobody Rides for Free: The “Weiland” is a one-user unit, incapable of supporting a second person/passenger or exceptional lifting capabilities beyond a single user’s personal gear.
  • How Do You Drive One of These: The “Weiland”, being possessed of both exceptional speed and maneuverability, requires specialized training to handle effectively so inexperienced users may risk crashes, collisions, or some other unfortunate outcome…possibly even the kind you can’t walk away from.
DESCRIPTION
Swift, Silent, and Tough. That’s the best summary of the “Weiland” there is. With a powerful all-terrain repulsorlift engine, twin retractable repulsor boosters/maneuvering thrusters, and built-in terrain-following sensors and avionics assistance, the “Weiland” is faster and more maneuverable than conventional jet packs, reaching speeds in excess of 334km/h and able to cross virtually most any terrain, avoid obstacles and negotiate narrow passageways, and execute daredevil acrobatics with ease.
The already stealthy nature of repulsorlift technology, coupled with stealth-enhancing materials and technologies, makes the “Weiland” an ideal choice for evading detection and monitoring by most conventional means, even low-grade military sensors and detection systems. Further, the maneuverability inherent in the “Weiland”, it becomes even more possible for users to execute evasive maneuvers to avoid incoming fire if called upon to do so.
The “Weiland” was designed for extended operation, using the most minimal power requirements, and as such, it is well-shielded against heat – and overheating – and against radiation, including the kind resulting from ion/EMP-type weapons as well as atmospheric storms, ambient radiation, etc. It is armored against small arms fire, able to sustain several direct hits to most of it, having less than 20.32cm of vulnerable surface when operating without its retractable boosters engaged, and just 30.48 cm when they are! The “Weiland” is sleek and well-built, able to be integrated into powered armor suits, where it can draw upon the power supplies of those suits, and benefit from such assets also found within them, such as personal energy shields and the like.
In all, the “Weiland” represents a formidable and exceptionally high-performing device, able to outrun, outmaneuver, and yes, even outfox, one’s opponents. Although limited to use inside of a gravity well, such as within a planet’s atmosphere or inside a large ship with comparable artificial gravity in use, and not designed to permit the hauling of heavy cargoes or extra passengers, and of course, requiring special training to learn to operate the system safely and masterfully, the “Weiland” is still one of the galaxy’s finest repulsor packs, with a wide range of applications and options for its use.
