STRENGTHS

• Multiple layers of defence: The Phalanx Droid has three main layers of defence. The first layer being its modular shield system that can withstand the initial burst of fire the droid may take as well as protect it from ion/emp weaponry. Its second layer of defence is the large metal shield made out of Kov'dra which is essentially mobile cover for the droid even providing protection from sabers. Should all else fail the Phalanx Droid is still heavily armoured with helsteel.
• A mind of its own: As with other droids that serve the Diarchy and Lord Mettallum the Phalanx droids are free thinking droids.
• Mass: The Density Projector inside the Phalanx Droid allows the droid to entrench into a position letting it handle higher recoil weapons easier and protecting it from being moved from its position.
• Training beyond programming: Due to the fact droids have to go through training before becoming a phalanx droid they do not just rely pre installed combat programs

WEAKNESSES

• Shield Down: Once the Va'karis Shield system is down Ion/emp weapons are quite effective against the droid
• Turtle: The Phalanx Droid is extremely slow moving allowing faster moving foes to run circles around them. This weakness is further increased when the Density Projector is on
• Backside: While fighting these droids head on is a fools head on is a fools errand they are far more vulnerable from the back.

DESCRIPTION
Named after the Metal Lord WD-334 the WD-OS Phalanx Droid is a Tier 3 droid body given to droids who have proven themselves in training or battle and have taken the oath of the Guardian. The Phalanx droid is meant to lead the charge in battle by providing mobile cover for more fragile droids while also providing suppressive fire and anti armour. These droids are built to withstand a heavy amount of fire from the front although to both serve as a reminder to not take a step back and to decrease the chances of retreat the droids have been given a lot less armour at the back compared to the front.
