DESCRIPTION

Ugly as sin, as described by her chief designer, the huge cube-like Wayland-class is ubiquitously Mandalorian in design; favouring function over form. The ship is a brutal, tough adversary that looks like a floating wall of good Mando steel, though that wall of steel can become hard to see past the flaming walls of heavy firepower this beast is capable of producing. Some advanced and rare technologies join rugged Mandalorian construction in creating this formidable ship.

Her armored hull is meters thick in places, and makes for a formidable bastion protecting the weapons and troops housed within. Inside the armored box is a series of open spaces, within which are contained flexible nanotech metal tubes that can move troops and crew quickly between the solid sections of the craft. The central space is wide open, with the main engineering section at the very center of the vessel, the most protected part of the ship. Troop compartments, crew compartments and the main bridge are located at the edges of the central space, with egress between via either nanotube or the more standard railcars located along the solid spines that run the length and breadth of the interior.
Power distribution runs the interior face of the outer armored shell, with defensive positions located at the four egressways, and at the two hangar bays. These six points represent the only realistic path through the vessel's thick outer plate. They are heavily shielded to compensate for the comparatively weaker armor, and are also used for deployment of troops and starfighters respectively. All the vessel's complicated and advanced systems are overseen by a relatively tiny but well trained crew, assisted by a powerful AI, unique to each vessel in the class. This was part of the design criteria, given the Mandalorians' common distrust of droids.

Along the equator and prime meridian equivalents run sublight engines and thrusters, with six points of ingress through the hull plating, one for each face of the vessel. Two opposite sides house the dedicated hangars so that when landing on a planet, the hangar will always be on the upper surface. Each hangar also contains a medical facility for such dedicated use when the vessel is landed on a world serving as a fortress. Under these circumstances, the vessel's smaller scale weapons make for a suitable anti-aircraft cover for the entire region, while her primary weapons can serve as artillery.

Designed to function equally well as starship or ground fortress, the Wayland-class is nasty to look upon, but serves the purpose to which she was designed extremely well.

Intersting one. You mention this is a ground fortress as well not just ship. But you don't mention this as a strength. These are very big ships and to land or rise are very difficult and often damaging the ship or the engines. So please add these systems to the advanced systems and the proper elements to your strengths and weakness list, about the landing/lifting ability.

Thankyou! I have added some more systems, extra thrusters and reinforcement of the structure, and also added the strength for landing on planets.
