Location: Orbiting Drussel
Enemy of the Jackals and Hutt Cartel

Kay sat in the co-pilot's seat in her newly hired out light freighter, orbiting the planet Drussel. It was piloted by Usa'ar Obath, a new employee of sorts that she picked up at Tattooine. Through some valuable information from her source deep within the Cartel, she had discovered that yet another village raid was set to happen by the Jackals. She hated the space pirates for capturing people and enslaving them for profit. It was now her mission to do whatever it took to disrupt the slave trade and end it all. Of course she knew how impossible that was, but if she could free as many slaves as she could, well then her life would have made the Galaxy a bit better.

The Galactic Senate, as far as she was aware, had no idea of what she was doing. And she preferred to keep it that way. There was some kind of peace deal in the works between the Republic and the Cartel, and her efforts here could sabotage that. But it didn't matter. In her opinion it was wrong anyways. On her own she had done some of her own investigations, made contacts, hired a bunch of mercs and all while trying her best to avoid the bounty hunters on her tail. If Usa'ar Obath was as good of a pilot as he says, then she needn't worry about her safety while in orbit.

Before sending her hired mercs to the village down below, she had instructed them all to send the villagers to safety and away from the oncoming battle. And before the Jackals were to get there, she had hoped that they would set traps or anything needed for the ambush, all the while donning the clothes of the villagers so that they wouldn't be spotted so easily as being what they were. And by the time those nerfherding space pirates arrived to ransack the village, well, they'd have a big surprise waiting for them. The whole plan was executed perfectly in her mind. Now it just needed to be implemented.

Kay had her commlink in one hand, while her tea was in the other, her ever present satchel on the ground by her feet. She kept her eyes on the viewport and awaited the Cartel's ships to arrive. The light freighter was at a safe distance, hovering near a space station so that it wouldn't seem so conspicuous. In mere minutes, all of her planning and plotting will come to it's grand conclusion.

She activated her commlink and spoke to the mercs, "Alright everyone. It shouldn't be long now. I transferred half of everyone's pay into the accounts you all provided for me. Let's make the Cartel think twice before they try to kidnap villagers again. It's all up to you now."

Solan smiled as he stood on the bridge of a small freighter for which he had requisitioned from his storage center. It was after all a deposit made from his former co-owner of Aurora Alexandra. Now though the Dark Harvester was his and he was more than interested in testing out the stealth ships capabilities as he waited in orbit around the system. It was rather amusing and this time he was largely alone in arriving at the planet to help his old friend and ally Lady Kay. Someone who he was working with closely these days and when he heard that she needed help he was more than ready to step in.

His hands curled around the hilt of the Krath War Blade over his shoulder and then made sure his other weapons were secured. First there were two blaster pistols secured on the back of his belt, out of sight and out of worry for him to easily grab at. At his waist as well was a communicator to relay commands, and a second sword, this one a Dauntless blade. Of course he wore a fiber armor under his normal clothing, the clothing being a dark black cargo pants and his shirt being a looser shirt in order to allow him movement. Over that was that of the Viola Coat he had gotten all the long time back as a member of the rebel alliance and it was after all his main choice of armor. Lining the inside of that trenchcoat was ten vibrodaggers, each about a foot in length blade wise. And lastly there was his saber which he kept hidden in the sleeve of that trenchcoat.

"Ill be sure you send the pay back there Kay, you really should do background checks on your mercs before you hire them. Void being the name that you need call me for this." Void was an old name, one that he had not used in a long time and the last time that Void had been in the galaxy slaver ships and pirates were on the wrong side of their pirating. The Pirate that hunted pirates and terrorized the people of Nar Shadaa. He rather enjoyed being back. Now he started for the surface, curious to see how she reacted to having her friend nearby.

Another slave raid, these were common enough but they always had a charm of simplicity. Land and grab, it would just be another strange strings of disappearances in such the wide galaxy, in truth he'd usually let the slave master [member="Sareen Zar"], handle this mission But in truth he enjoyed the simplicity and this was a practised event and usually nothing ever went wrong, it was routine. And after all that had happened routine was a blessing.

"Begin orbiting, flag us as a merchant ship refuelling. Keep the Kossak class frigate in orbit, drop the Jabba class transport within a good stride from the village, have the Flying huttmen just a few behind the transport. Time to abuse some natives."

The enormous metallic beast sat in the centre most chair, with rib like protrusions on it's chest, broken and cracked with ridges and lines and small intricate patterns. The monstrosity was vaguely skeletal in shape and had metal limbs that sprouted from its shoulder's, the eye's were deep red slots on the arrow headed face, as if created by a fire burning deep within the metal.

"I want to be down there in two hours."

Usa'ar continually switched between gazing out the viewport and checking the radar for any sign of the Hutt Cartel ships. He had been doing this for awhile now, scanning and re-scanning, checking and double-checking, until his radar responded with several quick beeps. Yep. Those were the ships. "Looks like the Hutt ships have arrived," he noted to [member="Lady Kay"], eyes still on the radar. "One of them's keeping in orbit; the other two look to be preparing for a descent to the surface." So far, so good. The ships had appeared on schedule.

Now for the waiting game. Waiting for the ships to land. Waiting for the ambush to be sprung. Waiting for unexpected, plan-ruining surprises. But, hopefully those wouldn't occur. Usa'ar let out a deep breath and continued tracking the ships via the radar.

Kay was shocked to say the very least that [member="Solan Charr"] had appeared. Or perhaps she shouldn't be too shocked. Afterall, during most of her encounters with the Cartel as of late, Solan had been there fighting along side. She didn't know what his beef with the Cartel was, but one day she'll learn. Until then, having him there filled her with even more confidence with her plan.

She spoke into her commlink, her body easing it's tension a little. "Void, is it? What a pleasant surprise. Nice of you to join us. The less that I know of the mercs and the less that they know of me, the better."

As her pilot [member="Usa'ar Obath"] informed her of the incoming ships, her eyes searched the space around them. Sure enough, there they were. One ship however, was not on it's way down. Hmmm. That could be problematic, but at least this freighter had weapons. Little did she know that [member="Flannigan Mcnash"] himself was in the area.

Kay spoke into her commlink again. "Alright gang, our guests have arrived. Please be sure to give them a proper welcome. We'll be close by should you need us." She had a sip of her tea and then looked to Usa'ar Obath. "Keep an eye on that frigate, please, just in case they discover that we're not here for a visit."

And just like Solan was ready, she hoped that her hired mercs were as well.

Cadan stood with [member="Flannigan Mcnash"] on the Jabba Class transport. He wore is Red Raven Shot Caller Armor, the armor looked like it was kept in the best condition, with only a few cuts and scrapes on it, it also had The Jackals logo on the left breast plate. Wrapping itself around his armor was a brown trench coat, the coat itself was once a fine piece of fabric, but now it was almost as run down as an old slave. The coat was severely burnt and carried multiple bullet holes and stains. Strapped to his right thigh was a DL-18, the words "Sunshine" could bee seen sketched into the handle. He wore two wrist mounted weapons, on his left wrist a M99 Rocket system and on his right a CZ Wrist-Mounted Flame Projector. A Red Raven Gauss Rifle equipped with an Augmented Shooting Tool, was strapped around Cadan's back via leather strap. A Tazi Vibrosword hung at his side.

"Just a simple slave attack boss?" Cadan asked as he looked to Flanngian. Cadan planned to get some slaves for his mines on Kessel. Although he was also going to work with droids, he did want to have a mixture of the two.

Her and crew had taken position near the village, she was ready for her order to attack. She was waiting with her disruptor carbine, to butcher any opposition. Then she would take the slave to [member="Sempra the Hutt"], unless she or her crew wanted them. At the moment she had need of a cook, a few cleaners, and masseur. Also some to fetch her rum, as she need it. Her alcohol streams where getting blood in them, and that was never good. As you can't command bloody thirsty pirates sober, it was just not the done thing.

Her crew was getting there blaster and carbines ready, and the village seemed ripe for the taking.

Xavka stood silently, as still as a statue, as he calmly started at the mass of bodies that rushed to flow through the small streets, people stumbling over each other in a rush to secure their freedom and future like water rolling over itself as it followed gravity's pull and fell down a mountain. The only movement he made was with his arms, silently conducting the masses bellow him, directing them to where they needed to go so that they could escape the oncoming slave raid.

A few G.S (Galactic Standard) weeks ago, Xavka had approach one [member="Lady Kay"] after hearing about how she was pioneering a strike against the Hutt Cartel, to be more precise, how she was fighting against the slaver markets ran by the Cartel by cutting them off at the source; disrupting the raid's executed thereby prevent new beings even being placed on the market in the first place. When the call had gone out from Lady Kay to raise arms and prepare to fight on this planet so as to prevent the raid on the town that Xavka was standing over, the ex-slave had immediately dropped what he was doing in the politest way necessary and hauled himself to the location, ready to fight to prevent others from suffering the same fate he had suffered under.

Currently Xavka was wearing white clothe wraps around his lower torso, subsequently bearing the majority of his scar covered (particularly his right side) torso that also had a spider web of tattoos flowing across it. On his legs were simple and baggy black trousers that were cut short so that they hung above his ankles. On his feet, much like his torso, where clothe wraps - although they were brown this time - which were placed on his heels and ankles only, leaving most of his callous covered feet bare to the harshness of whatever terrain he was in. On his waist was a chain that served as a belt as well as an actual belt, hanging from the leather belt was a pouch that was filled with its condense so that it bulged noticeably. At his left his was a sword, hanging free without a scabbard and was opposite the pouch so as to prevent it making contact with it. On his right shoulder was a strap that held his rifle in place. On the right side of his head, bandages were wrapped around his forehead, covering his right eye.

"Usa'ar," Xavka raised a hand to his ear so as to trigger the communit placed in his ear, "please relay to Lady Kay that the evacuation of my quadrant is proceeding as planned and ahead of schedule. So far, no signs of the enemy have been spotted, although I have sensed a few unknown presences about a klick outside of the village. As such, my evacuation route was altered to accommodate the situation. Rather than head into the near by forests, I have instead directed them to a nearby cave network. Let's hope that the tactic works. Duquo, out." Ending the connection, Xavka jumped down from his perch to land amidst the streams of people which had thinned while he had been talking.

Tiali sits on his chair reading through a data pad, entertainment until he is needed for something. Until then he sits sliding down page by page pondering what to do.

He looks out the window to see the Jackal's beginning their raid this is all normal, back to the pad. R9 begins to beep and bop questioning the other ships in orbit "R9 I'm sure it's fine maybe just some merchant ships or something." R9 continues to beep and boop about the ships "Fine Fine just tell me if they look threatening. Until then we'll just sit here and look pretty the Jackals will handle this."

[member="Cadan Tazi"]

Usa'ar paused as he listened to [member="Xavka Duquo"]'s message from the planet surface. A couple minor changes, but nothing all in all to be worried about. He turned and addressed [member="Lady Kay"]. "That was Xavka. He said evacuation was proceeding as planned, but he felt some disturbance thing and altered the evac route to caves nearby. I guess that might mean there's already some Jackals down there. Or a rancor. I don't know. Anyway, that's all," He had witnessed more abilities of Force users over the last year, and while their sensing might not always be that specific, it almost always meant that there was some kind of danger. Best to take heed.

Usa'ar's radar beeped at him as he spotted a new ship in orbit. "Wait, looks like another ship is here. I don't know its intentions, but it looks to be fitting in with the Jackals. Best to avoid it." Usa'ar wished he was rich enough to afford cloaking for his ship. That would come in handy this close to Jackal ships, no doubt. The space station did serve as nice cover, but he couldn't help feeling nervous.

"You know Captain, im feeling good today, Do you know why im feeling good?" Solan stood by the ramp while Eve took over command of the ship, rolling his neck and smiling as the Shadow Legionnaire looked at him questioningly. "No Sir, i don't understand why you are feeling good today." Is all that came out of the man's mask, Solan's eyes looking at it and wondering for a moment that if he removed the mask what would the man do. Well that was something to wonder about for a new day.

"I am in a good mood today for one reason, someone, out there. Is going to die, very slowly, or very quickly. Either at my hands or yours. Do you know why this is so fond?" The Captain just shook his head as he listened to the man's words. "Its because Captain, its the beauty in life. We all die, how we die is not how we are remembered. Its when we died, where we died and for what it is that we died for. This is why i am so happy today, because any day in which a slaver is cut down or burned in order to stop their use of the population of this planet is a good day. And that is what these men will be remembered for, dying on a planet they did not come from, because they chose to ruin the lives of others so that they could be paid... i think that warrants a good day."

Solan smiled as he grabbed a helmet of his own and stared through the HUD as it activated, his smile widening as he readied for the fighting to begin. And when it did a certain Black Harvester Stealth ship would come out of no where and do just as Solan said it would.

Civilians were the best distraction that money didn't have to buy but it was a pity that they all had to flee the area before the ambush would be sprung. Kalous wasn't a fan of involving innocents in a battle anyway but he could see the advantages that their presence would have afforded the rag-tag group of mercenaries in their surprise attack upon the Cartel slavers. It was true that Kalous had been tasked with helping these random people evacuate the village before the slaughter to come but he couldn't bring himself to actively direct traffic to areas of safety--there were other mercenaries to do that. Kalous, on the other hand, was busy preparing for the ambush itself. He was blending into the environment and determining where the best vantage points for an attack were to come from.

These vantage points weren't necessarily for his own use, however, they would be useful to know in case the enemy were to have thoughts of using them against the ambushing forces. Where were these points located? It was obvious that the tallest buildings in the town could be used to fire down upon any ambush that would find itself without numbers or air support. These points were only special enough to warrant an extra mental note to be aware of for Kalous as he had other work to do in the town.

Kalous was dressed in his usual combat gear-- his chest, forearm, shoulders, and boots covered in armor--with all of the bells and whistles he would need to feel moderately secure in his own safety. He possessed his two bluebolt blaster pistols--one on each hip--his favored ARC-9965 blaster rifle slung across his shoulder, three thermal detonators on his left thigh, a collapsible stun baton on his right thigh, a grapnel launcher on his left wrist, and a hidden razor in his right gauntlet. All of these tools--accompanied by his helmet with a full HUD display--made him feel as snug as a bantha in a T-16 speeder. Today should be a good day.

Kalous wasn't without somewhat of a disguise for he had to blend in with whatever amount of locals had decided to stay--as well as making it seem as if he was just a simple villager--and so he wore a tan poncho that covered his body from his shoulders to his knees. This poncho was easily removable in a pinch--with slits down each side--but large enough to cover all of his weaponry unless seen at an unflattering angle. Of course, Kalous also had an attached hood which he used to cover his tendrils and the helmet that resided upon his head. All of this disguise, however, was something that Kalous wasn't exactly accustomed to.

Being a mercenary was one thing, and preparing an ambush was another, but preparing an ambush in a place with so little time to gain familiarity with it was something else entirely. Kalous, and the rest of the mercenary force, would have to learn and adapt to the terrain as much as the people who they were sent to ambush. It was something of a game of chess that had been dumbed down into a game of checkers. This was an unfortunate consequence of the overall plan that he had been paid to accomplish but Kalous knew that he would fulfil the job he was paid to do, or at least give it a good show, unless the enemy was so overwhelming that there was no hope of winning--ever the pragmatist.

During Kalous' initial walk through the town--as men, women, children, and whatever else these people wished to be identified as were running and screaming on their way out of town--there was a familiar voice that echoed in his mind. It was by pure happenstance that he had walked by [member="Xavka Duquo"] as he was attending to the evacuation of the town. Having worked with the man once before, Kalous wasn't quite sure what to make of his entire skillset but he also knew that a force user could come in handy at a critical moment in the battle. Kalous realized how unaware he actually was about the group of people that [member="Lady Kay"] had enticed to help in this mission. He had read no dossier, heard of no extra help, nor even enquired as to whom he would be working with. In all honesty, Kalous didn't really care as long as he was allowed to do as he wished without someone nagging in his ear at every turn. However, instead of interacting with the force user, Kalous simply sauntered by--in the opposite direction of the fleeing populace--to continue his own mental preparations.

"I'd really love to chat right now," Kalous began as he talked to himself. He was fairly chatty before an engagement but he knew that he should break radio silence in case someone was monitoring the frequencies. "But I can't be that stupid, now, can I? I mean it would be great to get to know everyone, share a cup of tea... I don't really like tea though, hot chocolate maybe? Anyway, I guess I just would want to know who to not shoot. Is that too much to ask?!"

Landing, steam roiled up and out of pipes and exhaust churning the air into a misty grey black, flecked with ashes and the smell of fuel that wasn't quite right, it smelt cheap but the smell was of sizzling meat, something about Bantha getting caught in the turbines came to the mind of the pilots, it was a messy affair and many would never think to be free of the hair that clung to so many, but they weren't here for Bantha patties they were here for slaves, thus it was that slaves might one day come to serve Bantha meat patties at parties.

He left the ship, he grimaced internally as he adjusted himself with his thumb and forefinger buttoning his coat with a light 'click', he never liked working his coat with these mechanical hands. They were good for holding onto things, sharp too. Good strangling hands but not for doing up buttons, he thought to himself blowing a deep breath that might of sounded like a sigh from anyone else, but he was more machine than man and it was just another breath from his breathing system. He decided he needed a droid specially designed to handle all his coat needs.

"Patrol the area [member="Cadan Tazi"], bring the men up I'd like this done in a few hours." he said looking around him, it was going to begin the chase and flight of villagers, or atleast that's what he thought.

Cadan looked to his captain as he unbuttoned his coat, and not for the first time wondered why he still wore a coat? Quickly though he threw the thought aside. "Aye Cap'n." The pirates said as he began to move out, although he collected a few shock collars and chains. Afterall this was a slaving mission.

For now his patrol was normal nothing out of the ordinary, but he kept pusing onto the village. He needed slaves for his new mines in Kessel. And why not get some from Drussel.

Kay heard Usa'ar's message and sipped her tea as she continued to monitor the viewport as well as the screens in front of her pilot. It was easy to spot that he had some anxiety, for she did as well. If this mission was successful then it could open the doorway for other such missions in the future. However if it fails, then she'll have to try out some of her other plans instead. Always a back up.

"Just stay where we are, please. If we move now or once things get going, they'll be able to tell that we are not their friends. Don't arm the weapons systems until it begins."

If only she was stronger in the Force. Then she could sense her hired mercs and Solan from down below and monitor them that way. But alas, she had to do things the way that others did. She brought up her commlink and signalled [member="Solan Charr"] "Void, there are plenty on their way. A few of my hired help are already at the village, getting the rest of the villagers to safety. I hope that you all will be able to co-ordinate a bit for when the Jackals come. You all have the element of surprise on your side, so please take full advantage of that. Good luck."

Whether he would answer or not, who knows? But she was sure that he had heard it. In the meantime she had another sip of her tea and waited. Patience was a virtue, afterall.

Sakon took his ship in and piloted it down below and landed on the ground near the edge of town. he activated his cloaking sequincer to keep his ship hidden and putting the ramp down he walked off of the ship and into the village looking around. It seemed for the most part, completely deserted. it looked like the other mercs had managed getting about 60% of the villagers out at the very least. It didn't take advanced scanners, nor sight, nor sound to determine that a swath of pirates marched ever so closer to this village that sought to be saved from the wretched slavers whose only wish was to dominate the freedom of those who were born with their right to live as they so should choose. Kalous' moral compass was something of a bonus to getting paid for this type of work--not that he didn't have a price prepared if someone on the other side of this conflict had offered him a job first--but doing something that he perceived to be 'good' certainly put some extra pep into his step. This extra spring helped Kalous finish his tour of the village as the real life-threatening screams began to wail from the villagers that remained in the city for too long. The formerly organized march to safety had turned into a free-for-all to attempt to evade the coming storm of pirates and slavers!

Kalous remained calm, cool, and collected during this overt panic that had spread across the village like a fire during dry season. There was already a small portion of the village that was beginning to be destroyed by the rambunctious villagers as they fled their homes toward whatever safety they could manage to find as they were guided out under their own willpower and resolve. This panic just cemented Kalous' decision to take part in this event that was as dire as they could come. If he, and the rest of his team, didn't accomplish their mission; it was more likely than not that they would all end up enslaved or dead. Kalous was not a fan of either of those options.

It wouldn't be until the first group of pirates entered the village that Kalous would tap into his athletic prowess to dart into a small home--hopefully unseen--to prolong the entrance of his enemies into the village. He wanted as many of these despicable slavers inside of the village as he could draw in before he would decide to spring his portion of the ambush. Without much coordination from the other members of his team, however, he thought that this might not end as well as he wished. That is why he decided to, finally, break his radio silence.

"I hope you guys are in some pretty good positions or we're all gonna be pretty dead pretty fast," he broadcast over the comlink that he had dialed in to a prearranged frequency. It was another hope of his that he hadn't been left to dry by whoever else was supposed to be helping tackle this insane amount of pirates and slavers...

It wasn't until she had heard Kalous' message over the commlink that she really started to get worried, or more so, get even more anxious. Not one for strategic thinking, most of that was handled by her late husband. But he wasn't around to help, nor was his spirit. And she couldn't leave these men high and dry without any sort of plan or back up.

"Once everyone is out, draw the pirates to the centre of the village. Flank them, surround them, then open fire. We'll offer whatever support that we can, but there are other ships in the area that we might have to keep at bay.
