Turns out getting around the galaxy is hard when you don't have pockets to keep credit chips in or a job to earn credits..... Twilight is willing to take the role of a faction or group mascot in exchange for getting to explore. Evil aligned groups would be a little more difficult but Twilight is extraordinarily gullible and could easily be convinced evil acts that were being committed were actually good for whatever BS reason.
