Long ago, it was simply the blade of the First Emperor, he himself the descendant of a Jedi survivor aboard the craft that brought the Jin’s ancestors to Tiantang. After many generations, the scientists of the Empire studied archaic lightsaber. Learning its mechanics, they refitted it with a decorative hilt made from the bone of a Keun-Yong, a great draconian reptile of the world.
