Waking the Rested

[npc post, Ishinae]

It had been a very long time since the most important Sith spirits had been spoken to or contacted, surely they were at rest, but Ishinae made a promise a very long time ago. This secret was very dear to her, just as the subject it was centered on. Ishinae had also been resting from her daily rituals, but knew it would be time soon enough. In fact, she rested for this, because it would take nearly everything she had to commit the ritual she needed to. "My Priests," Ishinae started, standing and open her arms slowly to begin harnessing the Dark Side Energy around them, "We need to make a call, lend me your strength, please." She requested and closed her eyes, taking a breath as she began chanting quietly. The nearby Priests joined in and also closed their eyes, beginning their chants and slowly waving their hand to guide the Force. "Release the concealment we have over the ship, it will only be a brief moment, there is nothing to worry," Ishinae insisted, as the ritual was going to contact an ancient spirit, long gone and resting since their last communication. The priests agreed and released the concealment over the ship, giving an influx of Force Power to the Viae

It wouldn't be instantaneous, however, the prepation had only just begun. They had to build the power and use it to search for the spirit. With the Viae's influence on the spirit, it wouldn't be as hard for an ordinary Priest of the tribe, but it would still take time. As the contained power grew, the Priests grew slightly louder each time the power grew. It was like a funnel, and with more power that filled the container, the stronger the force had to be pushed through the funnel. Since the Shahku's tribe's priests were not officially taught their powers by any high beings before the tribe left, they were all left with very archaic and unrefined practices and ways of using their powers or giving them. But this wouldn't be too hard, especially with the Viae helping to guide their gathered energy towards her. Truly, if the Viae was able to gain the power from all the deceased Sith, it would be overly powerful, and it may even consume her... which was another reason why she had Priests to help her gather little by little to be used and contained.

Eventually she was nearly ready to release the power under her guidance in the ritual she was preparing, but she would still need more to sustain the ritual and keep it going, keep it alive. The spirit they would be searching for was even more powerful than the current Viae, but with time everything degrades... just as this ship. Perhaps the last Viae was near Master level, but the knowledge and training degraded, along with the power. And soon, if the power in the Temple could not be influenced, it would degrade as well. "My Priests, the time is almost ready. Do not give up yet, we almost have it. I chose you all for this very practice. Hiding us from our energy is practice in its own right, but for this, I need you, more than you know," she soothingly spoke, instilling courage in her priests.

Then it happened, the reservoir was full and she moved her hands as if to push something between them with struggle, holding whatever it was between them; it was the Dark Side being contained. She jerked as the energy started to flow through her, her chants, along with the priests, growing loudly. Soon the power emptied from its containment into her and she guided it through her to search for the spirit she needed to speak to. The energy flowed through the ship and the sarcophagi within, through the Massassi, even all the way up to the bridge, consuming the ship and then it... just stopped. It receded just as quickly back to the Viae as it dispersed. "Yes, that is it... hold the energy, keep the ritual going, I will help you, my Acolytes." She hummed. A figure, a spirit, began to form in the center of the circle in front of them and Viae smiled, still holding on as she opened her eyes.

Aaaah.... Sister.... how long has it been?

Ishinae tilted her head to the side and hummed in happiness as once again she could speak to the last Viae, the mother of Adzatsmam, her sister. She took a deep breath as she looked towards the spirit looking happy, forgetting the fact that she was dead for the moment. "My dear older sister. It has been far... far too long. However, I come showing the promise I made to you all those years ago."

Mmmm.... and how is he doing?
"We are back home, Sister... but we are not home just yet..." She sighed, looking sorrowful now. "But he has started his destiny. He is beginning the trials to bring us home. He truly is your son, my sister. I envy you. I see now why you stepped down from Viae... having a family must be ...perfect." She tilted her head the other way, going off in a day dream as she hummed again, thinking of what life would be like with her own family.

You have grown old, my little sister. I see you keep more than one promise.
The Viae's head centered and faced down as she closed her eyes, taking a breath. "Yes... I could not leave my family alone... his father was released when he was ready, but I believe he still needs me. Our next Viae is not ready for this burden, and my practice has nearly complete... I only need a little more to make him full."

He does not know yet, does he?
Ishinae shook her head, "No, my sister, I will not tell him. I know that if I do, he could fall apart before his journey is complete. I want to tell him, sister, I truly do... but I will, eventually. When the time is right. Thank you for this gift, sister... thank you for letting me feel what it is like to be a mother."

I found love, I suppose it was only fair.
"Sister," Ishinae urged, "Would you allow me to ever bring you back? I know I can't, but I'd like to try. I miss my sister, I miss our time together." Her head began to hang low, a tear forming on her withered and greyed face. "Sometimes I feel like I fall weak, Adzatsmam has I and the family keeping him up, but the only thing holding me together is the power of our people."

I could not allow it. You know our power is in our ancestors. Without me, you would not have this power to sustain yourself. You must take care of my son. Our Family.

By now the Priests were becoming exhausted, even for only this short time, this short communication. The power strain was enormous for them, and without Viae, they would never be able to do it. Ishinae could sense their struggle, their weakening strength as it grew harder to sustain her sisters spirit. "I know Sister, but at least I still think about you. I can never be separated from you... the bond we share is even stronger than the Force, I know it. But alas, our time must end, I've spent too long just getting sentimental with you and remembering the past."

The short time we can spend together, sister, brings joy to my heart. And never forget... you have I and my husbands love to keep you strong.
"I know sister," Ishinae sucked it up, clearing her throat and straightening herself. "The pain makes us stronger, but it's more like torture, to do things like this. I hate waking you from your rest... you fought for so long." She took a deep breath as she looked to her obedient Priests, even so weak in their training, they are so trustful of the Viae, Adzatsmam, and the family. Thoughts of sacrificial rituals to strengthen the family's power crossed her mind, as strengthing their power was what they had been doing while on the ship for so long.

It is time I went back to sleep, sister. Calm your spirit, lest it become restless and unfocused.
Ishinae nodded, and slowly started to release the force energy she had under her guidance, the Priests slowly starting to release the force gathering and the control over the ritual they had. "Goodbye, for another time, Sister. Stay strong, as I will." Unfortunately, the spirit did not speak back to her this final time, she had said what she needed to, and the more she spoke the harder the Priests would have to work. Their trial was coming to an end, as they were ending their practice slowly but surely, not needing to keep straining their strength. The spirit eventually dwindled and Ishinae slowly released more and more of the contained force, now the Priests able to completely release themselves from the gathering process. Ishinae had to slowly release all the gathered force, however, so the released energy would not be harmful towards anyone

When the energy was finally released, the Priests took a small rest, Ishinae breathing hard as she strained herself more just to take some struggle away from her priests. "Thank you, everyone, for that." Ishinae said happily, quite happy from the event, and happy that her priests had become so powerful. Perhaps not as strong as herself, but powerful enough to commit to such a ritual for such time before becoming weakened. The Priests nodded to the Viae, an honor to help her in such a ritual. "Rest now, I will bring back the concealment. When I call for you again, you may resume."
